For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

The reading must have been wonderful FMF well done!

Toot, is it really bad that I giggled about your football story?

I need to do some work but have no motivation at all.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 16:55

I am having a day like that TooT. We went to Brown's Folly with JJ and had lovely walk, and then in the car on the way back they made so MUCH NOISE and wouldn't be quiet when they were told, and went ON AND ON, and I am very cross and impatient with the endless high-pitched stupidity. I have just sent them all far away from me, and told them to all to read a book in their bedrooms, or just be in their bedrooms.

And I did that thing where I went on too much.

I had my ears pierced by a girl in the loos with surgical spirit we stole from the biology lab. They went green and are now closed up.

Oh and I made an amazing soup with beans and fennel and carrots and everything for lunch.

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 16:56

Oh and excellent about the poem, and the congratulations later too. You were triumphant.

Overrun · 17/02/2008 16:57

Hope you are all well. I havne't done too badly on the fruit and veg front today, savoy cabbage, leeks, broccili, banana, half a grapefruit, an apple and a big helping of pumpkin and apple crumble.
As ever the exercise bit lets me down

filthymindedvixen · 17/02/2008 17:04

i just realised I don't think i have eaten in a very 10/10 way all week. I dimly recall some raspberries....

But with tonight's roast chicken we are having kale, carrots, braised red cabbage with apple, brocolli, green beans and parsnips.
And I had a banana earlier.
Must Do Better Next Week.
D you know, it does me so much good to read normally capable-sounding parents like 100 and TooT having shouty, cross, losing-it days

Mine have been little angels today while I have been languishing. (which is a novelty!)

filthymindedvixen · 17/02/2008 17:04

pumpking and apple crumble?

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 17:15

Do I normally sound capable-sounding? Good grief! I don't think I am incapable but god I have my flash points, and frequently get really quite cross.

DD is especially trying of late. One of my flash points is asking them to please stop doing something and being IGNORED.

I like MN though. I like how you feel very cross and you write down what you are so INCENSED by and then you think, oh they were noisy in the car! Hah!

Tatties · 17/02/2008 17:22

Gosh, don't think I can catch up atm, but hello everyone

filthymindedvixen · 17/02/2008 17:35

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 19:01

Ooh OVERRUN that was nice to see you there! I think we will have to be eagle eyed and not mistake Overrun and Overrated... How are things? I didn't keep up with your thread about the nursery I'm afraid - are things any better?

FMF am so pleased about the poem. We all had faith so no surprise that it went down well, but sorry you were so anxious about it

ds calling, will return

OverRated · 17/02/2008 19:26

Yeah, I need a new name. [uninspired]

Boco · 17/02/2008 19:41

How about UnderRated?

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 19:43

Who is Overrun? Is it possible I have been talking to Overrun and thought she was Overrated? How confusing.

Boco · 17/02/2008 19:45

My rash is back It's making me cross because my skin is crawling and I have hives all over my neck, chest and tummy. Fed up.

The girls have been very sweet and made the dining room into a cafe with gingham table cloth and candles and we had dinner in a pretend bistro and they sang songs and even ate all their dinner up. Candle light seems to be a winner for getting them to eat lots.

ahundredtimes · 17/02/2008 19:58

Back to the wizard. Is it brought on by stress do you think?

I love the bistro and the scoffing. That is very nice. Was there a menu?

We had a rather terrifying meal. DD said everyone had to describe each other with one word. I thought it was going to be one of those things where I'd say the wrong word and ds1 would spend his life thinking about how I'd said 'practical' when I should have said 'creative' or some such.

One of the words to describe me was 'gourmet'. LOL.

UnderRated · 17/02/2008 20:01

What a good idea, Boco. Hope your rash gets better - is there anything you can put on it to help?

Changed name because there are too many Over... s on here. Think I need something more interesting but this will do for now.

Boco · 17/02/2008 20:02

Yes, there was a menu - written on a blackboard, it said 'sossidge soop' and 'iyscreem with strorbrys' . We had lamb casserole though, I've not got a recipe for sossidge soop. And the cafe had a sign and everything.

Going to call the Wizard in a moment.

Gourmet is a good one - is it a metaphor?

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2008 20:02

Oh dear, Boco...is it stress related, do you think?

100 I'm afraid my word would probably be "bossy" on a good day and probably "tyrannical" on bad one

For supper I had a guacamole & rocket snadwich and lots of crudites and hoummous.

I feel slightly redeemed

Oh and some apple cake

Boco · 17/02/2008 20:03

That's better Under. I always worried about you being called over rated anyway, it didn't seem very kind to yourself.
