For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Break a leg

FrayedKnot · 16/02/2008 19:26

Good luck FMV!

I am in a really bad mood

It started early

But I have eaten lots of vegetables today, and been to the gym

Avi your dentistry sounds horrid, but why did you have to have it done so far from home? Hope things are better today.

Now I am going to go and see if I can find something to distract me from general bitchiness

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 19:28

Hello FK, why the mood?

Boco · 16/02/2008 19:33

Sorry about your bad mood FK, what's up?

We went to Norwich and met my dad and his wife.

I spent my xmas HMV vouchers on two cds and they're both fabulous and I want to recommend them - Joan as Policewoman - she has a beautiful soulful voice and it's lovely. And Beirut - which is very french sounding with a nice man singing and trumpets and things and is a bit like Sufjan Stevens and instantly soothingly lovely. I want everyone to listen to my cds with me, i haven't bought music for ages.

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 19:36

Hello Boco.
I am v. unadventurous with music these days and just stick with what I know I like. Mind you, I didn't listen to music for years - until I started driving. I never think of it at home.

Boco · 16/02/2008 19:42

I love music and need to listen to it every day - it makes me generally happy just having it on in the background.

BBBee · 16/02/2008 20:05

I am sure FMV will be wonderful - all flicky and jangly and serene and poetic. I am also sure she has gone now so am winging those wishes to her.

How are you boco? How are you all?

I love music too but have rather odd taste.

Was it on here we talked will oldham?

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 20:19

It makes me immensely happy when I remember to listen to it. Most of my stuff is on vinyl though and the record player stopped working

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 20:20

How are you Bee?

Boco · 16/02/2008 20:23

I'm fine thanks Bee, how are you? And how are you Toot

Look at us all doing polite asking after each other.

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 20:25

I appear to be sneezing but am ignoring it.
How are you Boco?

Boco · 16/02/2008 20:27

Oh you know, pretty good. [shuffles]

Boco · 16/02/2008 20:27

How is you dh? How are the dcs?

ZippiBabes · 16/02/2008 20:28

hello everybody

i have it on all the time

i have finally had some food

and completed my packing up and throwing out of ds room hoorah but i have done no college work this week eeek

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 20:29

We had sunshine today so I wore a T shirt in the garden. My fingers went a bit numb but I felt it would be ungrateful to wrap up.

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 20:31

Oh, y'know.
Smaller dcs seem to have permanent snot and cough atm.
Dd1 gone to bed with hot water bottle feeling wobbly.
Ds1 loud'n'lively. He marked out an area of garden today where he plans to grow a crop of grain for his hamster. He doesn't have a hamster yet but I admire his sudden energy.

FrayedKnot · 16/02/2008 20:31

I have no idea why I am in a bad mood. Which kind of makes it worse. Can;t blame PMT. Also DS had a very long protracted sob/wail/sob/hiccup/wail/sob/wail this morning about not wanting to go out with dH while I got on with stuff I needed to do, so they didn;t go out, and I had to do teh stuff with a zillion interruptions, as you can imagine

"But Mummy I want to help yooooooooouuuuuu" every five minutes

So, calming soothing music? That sounds good

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 20:32

And how are the dds Boco? And dh?

TooTicky · 16/02/2008 20:33

Hello Zippi and FK

Tatties · 16/02/2008 20:34

Hello everyone

FMV you will be fantastic

Boco I share your enthusiasm for music. I was very recently thinking I don't listen to music enough and I should, because it can be very uplifting and good for the soul. I like the sound of your Beirut one

Sorry about your bad mood FK, it's awful when you can't snap out of it. Dp told me to calm down today as I was banging cupboard doors in the kitchen

Boco · 16/02/2008 20:34

Yes, put on calming soothing music, and have a nice bath, and a glass of wine. I'm going to do that. Dp is chopping wood fgs.

Boco · 16/02/2008 20:36

Dds are very well thanks Tatties. DD2 had croupe last week and the homeopath gave her aconite and i don't know if it was that or something else but the next night it was better and it often lasts for a week. So, that's good. And they both loved the puppet theatre today. Dp is ok, but entering a wood chopping phase.
