Dedicated Swallower of Passion (Fruit) - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

would be good but we wont mind if it is bad..we can walk in the rain again and watch some big crashy waves further up the coast

TooTicky · 11/02/2008 22:46

Right, must go to bed. Good luck with your decisions. Go with your instincts and don't be in a hurry.

TooTicky · 11/02/2008 22:47

Fine advice coming from me

ZippiBabes · 11/02/2008 22:50

night night

OverRated · 11/02/2008 23:06

Oh, it looks lovely, zippi.

I have no idea how you decide what to do with your life. I will have to start again when I come back to the UK and am wondering what I shall do. Funnily enough, I was looking at houses near Carmarthen the other day. It wasn't as cheap as I thought it would be.

ZippiBabes · 11/02/2008 23:10

no in fact very expensive now..are you coming back to the uk then?

no the trouble is i don't really have any fixed points except my children...bizarrely i am thinking of going away to uni and leaving them behind

OverRated · 12/02/2008 03:19

Who'd have thought that the middle of nowhere in Wales would be so pricey? I will be back in the UK at some point, I just don't know when. Like you, I have no fixed points at all. I feel like I don't belong anywhere.

I am having ridiculous fantasies about living somewhere very remote and being self-sufficient but realise that would never be a reality. One day, I'll no who I am and where I am going...

FrannyandZooey · 12/02/2008 08:35

How lovely of wombling, Franny. And a mango, fab

ZippiBabes · 12/02/2008 14:39

we were giving a chance to catch up frannicles

OverRated · 12/02/2008 15:01

Frannicles

Deny thy burger and refuse thy bacon etc - PSW's suggestion

TigerFeet · 12/02/2008 15:03

Hurrah for wombling

Hope it was a nice mango (resists temptation to do the cunting thing)

pinkspottywellies · 12/02/2008 16:03

I love the Shakespeare title but I have to say it wasn't mine. It was MrsC's and I butchered it a bit to add the 'Deny thy burger' and the 'corn my lovage'. Please use it Franny [beseeching] it's very Valentiney.

pinkspottywellies · 12/02/2008 16:06

2 and a half portions today but not looking good for the rest

Franny you have ben declared a grown-up on Zippi's grown up thread.

TooTicky · 12/02/2008 16:08

Pink, just do it! Franny will be happy.

wheelybug · 12/02/2008 16:11

hello.

Didn't have a particularly good F&V weekend due to being away with a group of old friends which consisted of lots of wine (and on one occasion lots of wine, port and whisky). However, I had more F&V than I would otherwise have done if this thread hadn't made me think about it...

Back on the F&V regime today - a mix of dried 'wonderberries' with porridge, seedy pitta bread with pepper, cucumber and hummus for lunch, some pomegranate juice and some melon so far. Not sure whats for dinner - can't remember what I ordered in the shopping coming tonight.

I like the shakespeare title too....

FrayedKnot · 12/02/2008 16:35

YOu all still here then

Boco · 12/02/2008 16:36

I slaved over all those elvis titles and the stir fries one. I am getting sniffy now.

TooTicky · 12/02/2008 16:43

FGS Somebody start a new thread - this one is far too slow to load.

New thread here ladies.

If people don't like the title TooT made me do it!

Boco · 12/02/2008 16:59

I've had a good veg day so far.
Apple
Orange
Banana
Tomatoes
Yellow Pepper
raw carrots

That doesn't sound that good actually. But I've done really badly for last week or two and I tried harder today. And friend made lunch so that helped.

BBBee · 14/02/2008 21:19

why hasn't the thread moved for two days?

what's going on?
