OP posts:
Festivepussy · 05/12/2004 10:13

OMG didnt realise it was aimed at you Bluemoon. I also didnt think it was really her, I mean think of all the things loads of people have said about most famous people, who ever gets pulled up about it?
Hello Jenni havent had time to say hello yet, hope you manage not to have any today.
Im on day 8 now, feels like forever in a good way!
Ive been on MN for a good couple of years at least now. I read the whole of MN talk threads in one evening when I first founs it, now I doubt I could read one evenings worth. So its certainly got bigger and 100X more popular!
Drowned my sorrows with a vodka irnbru drink and a copy of Take A Break. Sad Git!

merryminkmama · 05/12/2004 12:26

vodka's not sad FP, but i think 'take a break' is borderline i have been known to buy 'hello' out of sheer boredom.

jenni, don't be silly, how can any of us be exciting as full-time mums?!!! i think i can beat you there though - married, two boys, semi-detached living in Surrey. my only saving grace is that i don't drive a big car, just a small one!

BM, how's dd now you've stopped the potty training?

merryminkmama · 05/12/2004 12:27

oh and i'm a SAHM.

fionagib · 05/12/2004 17:17

so sorry not been here much girls, up to eyes with work - workworkwork, god, need xmas rest.
have really missed you!

festie - so glad you liked book (bluemoon am SO sorry not to have sent one yet, chaos reigns with joiner here, attacking house... will send asap as soon as my workroom's less bomsite-ish...)

hello jenni, lovely to have you here - yeah my dh smokes too - he quit for a month there but has just started up again, smoking rollies, makes it v hard. I've quit for 1 month 1 week 3 days... sucking lozenges like a loon tho...

lol at festive names! This sounds daft but how do you chnage your name? Am sick of mine being so drab & non sparkly.

festie - I finished the book you've just read a year ago - the one I went away recently to work on has to be handed in by end of jan, it's my third fiction one - am a bit stressed out cos the deadline is so close, TRYING to relax about it and have fun with it but am a bit wound up.

Sorry to hear about your glum day fp - hope you're better... and your poor dd bluemoon - hope she perks up soon.

Mink the oils are LOVELY - thank you so much xxxx

JennisaurusUnderTheMistletoe · 05/12/2004 17:38

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am going out to a party tonight Grin so quite excited, but also worried about smoking there. Social occasions are SO hard!

Fiona - I hate rollies, my DH had a phase of them, urgh! Thank god he finally switched to L&Bs! To change your name, click on the thingy below that says 'click here for a reminder' just change your name in the chat nn box and click update. Fantastic for going so long without a smoke, I don't think I would have been able to quit during pregnancy had it not been for my constant supply of boiled sweets!

No ideas for a festive name though, didn't think of my own!

Festivepussy · 05/12/2004 18:11

I will have to suggest FestiveFiona, if only so it matches with mine :)
I think Jennis forgot the click on your member profile bit of changing your name, click there first or at least I did..
Mink can I have 3 anger oils please? Let me know how much it is and I will paypal you for them. Im saying 3 as I keep forgetting to ask my mum how many she wanted...I have another ebay ID so I could buy one via ebay for another feedback if you would like.
Hardly any fag thoughts today BTW...
But Mink I actually went up the shop at 9pm last night to buy TAB now that is sadGrin

Festivepussy · 05/12/2004 18:12

Ohhh..and I used to love rollies...cant stand real fags.....theres a thread on MN Roll Up Roll Up for a meetup...makes my heart stop everytime I read itGrin

JennisaurusUnderTheMistletoe · 05/12/2004 18:18

Noooo. It has to be L&B or Marlboroughs. I will only smoke rollies in an emergency! I am cigarette snob!

Festivepussy · 05/12/2004 19:53

I am a rollie snob, all those chemicals in the fags makes them stink so much they are hard to inhale...say we the non smokersGrin
I, BTW, have spent another weekend not really talking to dp. What fun.

bluemoon · 05/12/2004 20:57

'Evening all. Yes it really was me in the GF 'scandal' and it gave me about 10 sleepless nights until it got worked out. She was truly vicious and quite insane about the whole thing. Still ... over with now! I hope [paranoid emoticon]

I've had various stages of rollies and 'real' fags. Lastly I was smoking silk cut ultras in the absurd hope that they really wouldn't be as damaging as anything higher tar ... sigh ... Blush

FG, great to hear from you again! Good luck with the writing.

Dd's still very low in herself. Makes me so sad to see her take a couple of running steps in the park and then start coughing and get completely disheartened ... Looking forward to getting your oils mink! Incidentally Mink, did you send me some photos by email? If so, you and your kids are absolutely utterly GORGEOUS!!!!! I wish I knew what everyone else here looked like ...

bluemoon · 05/12/2004 20:59

Hey FP, how come you and dp aren't talking?

Festivepussy · 05/12/2004 21:38

Hi BM, we see sooo little of each other as he does such long hours we are like strangers in the same house and its almost embarrasingBlush.
Very sad too as when hes on holiday we get on great....anyway, it doesnt help that im on so Bitch Fron Hell anyway...couldnt speak for a few hours I was so internally raging at...BUGGER ALL.
Cor I bet the scandal done your head in it was scary reading it...poor youxxxx
Id get your dd back to the docs I really would.xx
And Fiona, Ill buy the next book as your worth reading xx

bluemoon · 05/12/2004 22:06

FP, dp and I have that exact problem. He's ALWAYS working and when he's not he wants some 'peace and quiet.' Meanwhile because I spend so much of my time solo with dd I'm desperate to speak to him so that when I do I seem to drive him nuts, he gets snappy, I get offended and seethe away to myself and on it goes. We also get on great when we've got a bit of time together.

I just watched North and South and was feeling so dreadfully deprived of romance by the end of it ...

Festivepussy · 05/12/2004 22:08

Its sad isnt it? Bloody Work...and I do try and he trys sometimes...but only maybe 6 times a year are we both trying at the same timeSad

Festivepussy · 05/12/2004 22:18

Going to bed now to read a jolly book about serial killers[mad grin]
Getting some tips for next month when im due onGrin

fionagib · 05/12/2004 22:50

yeah bluemoon does sound like your poor dd needs another look over by the doc... must be so worrying for you. xx

fp, sorry you're feeling all distant from your dp - we get like that too, usually cos of work like you folks, and also when mum stays - we just kinda lose each other for a bit & start squabbling. I wish we had more time together, just the two of us, and weren't so knackered.

mink & fest know that we have this (slightly embarrassing) thing of having a 'date' on a friday night, at home, where he cooks for me & we get piddled on wine & catch up on what's been going on. Doesn't always work - sometimes ends up in a row (!) but is lovely when we're in good moods...

bit shagged out tonight (not in a good way) so am gonna have bath & read... zzzz... catch up tomorrow... My pc being SDO slow & creaky so will do new name when it (and I) feel a bit whizzier! xxxx night girls

merryminkmama · 05/12/2004 23:12

only just finished the harry potter film.

yeah that was me BM, thought it was about time you saw what we all look like, it's nice when you can see who you're talking to! oil will be shipped off to your dd tomorrow btw. i just hope it helps ease her a bit and i also agree, you should take her to another doctor and see if it is anything to do with the old asthma...

cc, course i can do those oils! let's do it through ebay again then...they're up at the moment actually. do you want me to call them something nicer though?!

fg, your date night is not at all embaressing, i actually Envy you since my boys are still to young for that kind of thing as they still stir in their sleep so anything we do together has to be in fast forward time Grin

off to bed girls, am enjoying fg's book at the mo!

xx

bluemoon · 06/12/2004 10:59

Oh fg, I'm always trying to get dp to agree to having a 'date' once a week, just us at home. But it NEVER happens.

In fact, and this is deeply embarrassing, dp and I haven't been out together once yet since dd was born Blush. This is mostly because we have no-one within reach who we could use as a baby-sitter and partly because dp works ALL the bloody time and partly because we're terrified of something happening to dd.

I loved your pictures, mm, I'd love to see some of you others too if you've got a relevant link?

fionagib · 06/12/2004 15:01

we don't go out much but do wangle the occasional overnighter (stay in cheapie hotel) when mum is staying - we prob do this about twice a year. Have teen sitter who helps us out occasionally but here in a v small town there's bugger all to do anyhow!

Ever tried to set up a babysitting swap system with other parents, or is no one keen? Gotta dash, taking FIVE kids swimming after school (other adult pals are gonna be in pool to help thank god!)
xxx

Flumberrysauce · 06/12/2004 15:08

Hello all, can i join you. I relapsed after giving up for whole year! due to odd ones at parties - thought that would be ok!! ha ha, back on 20 a day in 10 seconds flat. and even worse hiding from everyone who so pleased I had given up!

Stopped yesterday, on patches, the mad dreams are back with them - dreamt I was at a friends mums party and I had to do loads of cleaning all night!!

My advice! Do not use the Nicorette Nasal Spray - it works wonders on the cravings but is more addictive than fags!!

Festivepussy · 06/12/2004 17:36

Hi again everyone, and Welcome Flumberrysauce(who were u before please...cant be assed looking through the Xmas name dictionary as its WAAAYYY too long)
I envy you FG in a way about the friday night date thing, but it just wouldnt happen in this house.
We would end up arguing, me saying give me a hand with this shithole before we sit down and him saying just leave it we will do it tommorow...and me getting pissed off as we tends to mean ME.
Anyway....
Mink just gonna go find your oils hope im not too late...ill buy one...save on your fees, but invoice me for what did i say? 3
Must dash dinner cooking and ebay to get to..

Festivepussy · 06/12/2004 17:43

Right Mink bought one...can i have 3 please of the angry sort...just stick merry xmas on the labels in your nice writing and the ingrdients on the back ta xxxxxxxxx

bluemoon · 06/12/2004 21:27

Hello everyone and welcome flumberrysauce! Yep, happened to me too, I gave up for 2 years once, started having an occasional 'social' one and before I knew it was on full pack a day again too. Grrrr ......

I'm looking forward to rubbing some of your magic oil on dd's chest, mm! Please tell me how much to send you for it though?

Ooohhggg ... I'm tired tonight. A long day at work after a 5.30am start!! AGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mammya · 06/12/2004 21:31

Hi all, hope you're all doing well. HOw is your dd bluemoon?
I remember that GF thread by the way, didn't realise it was you!

mammya · 06/12/2004 21:37
