For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

onebatmother you did 'ave 'im, it was the use of goat erotica that clinched it...hang on...MrsC is a goat erotica poet - were you there MrsC??

FrannyandZooey · 14/01/2008 18:30

LOL at being internet vegetable fantasists. If I was going to make up stuff on here I would make myself a ruddy sight interesting than a gawky lentil weaver who eats too many brassicas.

Talking of which I made a proper effort today after seeing the fridge bursting with uneaten veg box supplies and also MrsC had a kind word yesterday about my sinus doodahs. I still ate cheese MrsC but it was as an afterthought rather than the main event.

Dinner was leek, mushroom, pepper and cheese frittata, served with corn, new potatoes and some huge leafy item - curly kale? It was nice.

Boco I am delighted your skin has cleared up. Was it definitely the wizard alternative practitioner? Or combination of holiday, relaxation, sunshine etc?

pinkspottywellies · 14/01/2008 18:31

FMF and TooT it's your go on Scrabble. Are you ignoring me?

filthymindedvixen · 14/01/2008 18:38

PSW, sorry haven't had an alert...

Can any of you lot help me, DS needs to explain how his bicycle works for homework. I haven't a clue about physics. I mean, I know that one sits there and exerts pressure on pedal which in turn, er, er, um

onebatmother · 14/01/2008 18:41

boco, thank you.
To my shame, it was this floundering that made me actually cry:

" By Pan on Sun 13-Jan-08 22:47:19
There are many lovely references to Pan..but batty chooses the one that she finds most attractive to her inate bestiality.

who else would name herself thus AND go in search of this sculpture??

Perv.

lolol. Am still weeping!

ZippiBabes · 14/01/2008 18:45

is it on how things work

filthymindedvixen · 14/01/2008 18:48

we are going googley-eyed trying to find a website which isn't too, erm, technical.

You have to bear in mind it will take himat least an hour to write/type three paragraphs

OverRated · 14/01/2008 18:54

How old is he FMV?Am wondering how much detail you need

filthymindedvixen · 14/01/2008 18:55

10

OverRated · 14/01/2008 19:07

Would something along the lines of:

The rider sits on the seat and pushes a pedal with his feet.

A chain is attached to the pedal.

When the pedal is pushed, the chain moves.

The chain moves around a large cog which spins the wheel.

The harder the rider pushes, the faster the pedal turns, which makes the chain move more quickly and spins the wheel faster.

I would draw a diagram.

And might mention the transfer of energy from the rider to the bike. Presumably this is science homework related to energy? Or maybe English (writing instructions/ explanations) or DT?

OverRated · 14/01/2008 19:10

How is your DS 10 on this thread but 9 on the other one?

MrsCarrot · 14/01/2008 19:13

is it pan the half goat then, I was imagining peter?

Franny - you do realise I am never going to live down the aereolas like goat's eyes line don't you? I am tarnished. But well done, for er, eating slightly less cheese.

Right - no more procrastination, trainers on. OMG I've just remembered my bf tits. Can you run with 34Gs? Will I get black eyes?

Back shortly.

OverRated · 14/01/2008 19:25

Is it just me sitting here picturing Mrs C's breasts?

Good luck with the jog. I'm in the black eye camp so don't run. Ever.

ahundredtimes · 14/01/2008 19:39

OR I think it a perfectly natural by product of parenting to misremember your dcs ages. I myself told the doctor last week that ds2 was six, until he pointed out that he was in fact 8.

FMF's is 10, because I remember his birthday. [stalker]

Tatties · 14/01/2008 19:56

Evening all

I really like the sound of that aaaargh film, sounds right up my street.

FMF I am hormonal too! I am back in tune with the full moon again! Does anyone else 'nest' premenstrully? I was rearranging the living room today... (then moved it all back because it didn't look right )

Tatties · 14/01/2008 20:00

premenstrually

FrayedKnot · 14/01/2008 20:02

I don;t run either, due to dodgy foot and knee

The gym thing is taking ages to sort out since I have been involving several other people's decisions in an attempt to get a fiver off the monthly fee.
I am sure I will be starting soon, though.

I am reading the article, Avi, I think. Is it Tom Hodgkinson?

MrsC I never told about the aureolas specifically so you have outed yourself there. I just said goats in general. I was looking at my nipples today and thinking of you, anyway. Like you do. I hadn't ever envisaged myself leading a life where I could type that to a woman on the internet without getting arrested, but I am quite glad that I am.

and by the way that was CONSIDERABLY less cheese than usual

I feel better actually. Mildly perky. I felt the baby move, as well [beam]

FrayedKnot · 14/01/2008 20:17

Oh dear, may have to knock FB on the head then.

MN seems delightful in comparison (checks to make sure Justine not on "America's Most Wealthy" List).
