For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I am fat and unfit

I do not want to be fat or unfit

I am going to start running on Monday

Lo is a year next week. I will call him ds2 from now on but there is no longer any excuse for this inactivity and chocolate. Toot - the reason I have piles of booja boojas is that I GOT LOADS FOR CHRISTMAS. Too many. DH bought me one of the beautiful painted boxes full of them and I got loads of others.

We have drunk the new year champagne that I haven't been able to have yet and we also had pizza, so, tomorrow is the start of new year for me. It all starts tomorrow. Yes.

Ok, I bought soy milk today. I forgot how much I like it. Is there any reason a 2 yr can't have it?

What are booja boojas?

MrsCarrot · 12/01/2008 21:55

booja booja

I have managed it quite easily

3andnomore · 12/01/2008 22:00

lol Mrs Carrot...I have also sworn to myself that as off Monday I will start doing exercise again and also will make a real effort to have those 10 f&v, too...because I MUST loose weight...I feel yuk!

Oh, went to the Mandatory Selection Day, and should find out soon if they offer me a place.
After hearing more about the kind of teaching in the course etc...I want to do it even more...please wish me luck...because I really want to become an OT!

Anyway, am off now to watch "Boy A" now!

OverRated · 12/01/2008 22:01

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 22:03

I am sure you will have success with this

MrsCarrot · 12/01/2008 22:10

"oh I don't see why not

A lot can happen in 2 months, this is the thing! Mainly I feel sluggish and a bit yuck, I'm sure exercise will help with this too. I have elderberry syrup and I've been looking out for that superfood kiki stuff. I want to wake up and fee energetic rather than grunting and ds1 saying, can you look after the baby now, I have to get dressed for school.

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 22:11

you must have kiki thing

it will transform you into an energetic goddess

MrsCarrot · 12/01/2008 22:16

that sounds good

I asked in my health shop and they didn't have it but said it was made locally so I will try for some onine. Bit nervous of the spirulina though. I used to watch a friend sprinkle that on her muesli and be amazed that she didn't spasm on the spot it looks so toxic.

3andnomore · 12/01/2008 22:39

get juicing carrot....and Spirulina and Wheatgrass are very good "superfoods" and work well in Juices...

MrsC, you are wrong. There is no such thing as too much Booja Booja. Silly girl.

Hello everybody.

I still want to know who was/is doing belly dancing. Is it Bee? I am interested because my grandmother showed me a book and I want to ask things.

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 09:32

lionheart · 13/01/2008 09:37

Have been pretty good despite being back at work.

Avi, I don't know who Patrick Gale is either.
