For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It suits you, MrsC, this virtuous air.

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 09:48

FrannyandZooey · 13/01/2008 09:50

or more mango rage?

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 09:52

[I have reached a state of religious ecstacy and was speaking in tongues]

BBBee · 13/01/2008 09:52

meringue anytime for pregnant ladies I think.

have promised children swimming this morning and oh how much I regret that move!

big vegetable soup for lunch and already had dried apricots. Will eat fruit in a minute.

FrannyandZooey · 13/01/2008 09:54

(Bee the thing is, it isn't my meringue so I have to observe the proper rites>

lionheart · 13/01/2008 09:54

Any chance of some dervishing while you are down there, MrsC?

FrannyandZooey · 13/01/2008 09:55

or failing that, a bit of breakdancing? arf

pinkspottywellies · 13/01/2008 09:57

Franny when you are pregnant all food automatically becomes yours, therefore rendering null and void all proper rites

FrannyandZooey · 13/01/2008 09:58

oh superb I shall go and tell dp

hang on I think he may have an inkling by now

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 09:59

break dancing?

I am having a religious experience I'll have you know.

FrannyandZooey · 13/01/2008 10:01

Oh a religious experience. I thought you were possessed

dp and ds are painting a garden gnome. What thoughtful birthday presents we got

MrsSufiCarrot · 13/01/2008 10:01

I think this is quite good exercise

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 10:09

how can you get bored of mango divinity?

Right - I must do something more contructive with my day than pursue ecstatic states to find the answer to why some mangoes are cunting.

FrannyandZooey · 13/01/2008 10:19

oh I didn't know it was MANGO related

do we get to wear nun's clothes?

filthymindedvixen · 13/01/2008 10:21

I'm trying not to spend so much time on here. but then I find it all moves too fast and I haven't the foggeist what is going on...
MrsC - underno circumstances could you be described as fat.

Avi - marble runs are marvellous. Also noah's arky things/toy farms.
also those magnetic mosaic thingies were always popular at preschool.
Safety scissors, paper, and a bin of their own!!!

pinkspottywellies · 13/01/2008 10:22

Oh no. We're not dressing up and role playing again are we? Although nuns outfits would be in keeping with the title.

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 10:25

yes

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 10:27

I have been singing that ruddy song every ten minutes as well. We need a new title soon. A virtous one.

ahundredtimes · 13/01/2008 10:32

Whilst fully respecting other people's opinions and life decisions I would just like to say that both mine found marble runs very boring and unsatisfying, and it ended up in a dusty box.

Everyone is obviously entitled to speak freely of their love of marble runs, however it is perhaps worth pointing out that they are limited imaginatively. In my humble opinion.

[faints in tiredness of excess politeness]

But then it depends on the child. I think at 3 my ds's were absorbed by Brio, and then perhaps Playmobil. But they aren't constructors, they are lying on the floor with a Viking and a lady from the hospital chatting types.

DD did/does much less of this. She is unsupervised user of staples, sellotape and string type.

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 10:39

come in my child, all are welcome here
