For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Ahem, alternatively, if there isn't a neach, you could try the beach.

BBBee · 04/01/2008 10:44

a little niche on the beach where you sit and eat a peach each.

TooTicky · 04/01/2008 10:45

Just watch out for the leeches.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 04/01/2008 10:47

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 04/01/2008 10:48

has ur rash gone boco i do hope u ave a nice time

Boco · 04/01/2008 10:54

Rash is better than it has been for months, i'm surprised and happy - its since the wizard, it really is. My tummy is completely clear, and hasn't been since last March! Still on my sides a bit but not too bad.

I love cafes. I love beaches. I love peaches. Don't like leeches.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 04/01/2008 14:51

avi im amazed u understood what i wrote never mind feel the same lol

you seem such a mature sorted kind of person

MrsCarrot · 04/01/2008 17:10

Glad your rash is better, Boco, it's such a relief when something finally clears up. After your holiday you will be glowing with health I'm sure.

I like winter but I feel the need for a break I think. Maybe a spa something or other on my own, or with a friend, even overnight. Haven't had more than 2 hours to myself since Lo was born and he is 1 in two weeks.

I had a brief look at that argunebt thread. It is faintly ridiculous. If that isn't an ad for spending less time on an internet parenting site I don't know what is.

DH is bringing fish and chips home for dinner. I must deny myself the usual glass of prossecco and have sparkling water. It has to be sparkling with fish and chips for some reason.

FrannyandZooey · 04/01/2008 17:12

Oh blimey avi I hope it all works out. PLease let us know.

Well in theory dp could have gone without ds, but the main reason we are still in touch with his family to this extent is so that ds can have a relationship with them. Tbh also I am pretty tired and would not have been thrilled at prospect of 3 days on own with ds. So I guess I can't have it all ways. We told ds this morning (usually accpets things fairly well early in day, it's after about 4 pm that anything unusual leads to hysteria). He was ok but said "it's too long and I will miss you too much." On being reminded he would get presents and could eat unsuitable food with Daddy at service stations he seemed to rally.

Oh ona side note which made me laugh sometimes I worry I am crushing his ego a bit with my negativity and controllingivity. Well today my friend said to him "shall I tell you a secret? You are brilliant" and he said "oh EVERYBODY knows THAT"

Can someone link to the argy thread

otherwise I will spend an hour hunting and finding lots of interesting things to read. Mrs C and Boco I hope you will both get some Kiki superdoodah, I am sure it will help. PLus elder for the immune system, it really helps when your system has taken a battering and you can't seem to get back to rights again
Booc have a wonderful time

Boco · 04/01/2008 17:28

Don't read the argy thread, it's the sort that makes everyone a little bit paranoid.

Hope you can enjoy a bit of time to yourself Franny. Watch my dvd!

BBBee · 04/01/2008 17:47

is it hot there boco? will you be able to swim and stuff? oh it is so drizzly and nasty here what a blissful time you will have.

franny - plans for time alone?

Boco · 04/01/2008 17:54

I don't think it's very hot, it's about 21 degrees - so nice and warm. Maybe warm enough for a bit of swimming. Like spring.

BBBee · 04/01/2008 18:00

oh yes it sounds wondeful - really wonderful. Spring is my favourite time of year and it will be nice and not too much of that sun cream and hat nonense.

We went to seville in late autumn once and it was beautiful - really lovely. We found places like playgrounds and town squares for the children to run around in. I know cafes are boring but I love them - I like talking to the owners and watching the people and drinking exotically strong coffee and tiny intensely sweet cakes. Please do that.

BBBee · 04/01/2008 18:01

what time do you go? shouldn't you be packing? how is dp?

Boco · 04/01/2008 18:16

I'm half packed, but realised i'm going to have to take 2 suitcases as the clothes mountain is growing and there's no room for my stuff.

I love cafes. That's often my favourite bit of a holiday - just sitting and watching and drinking coffee.

Dp is generally ok, but just got back from the memorial for the girl who died and it sounded lovely and sad. The church was all lit by candles and her mum read an account of their last day together, and her boyfriend read a poem he'd written and her dad played the flute - a piece he'd taught her.

Dp very much looking forward to us going away I think! (not in a bad way) He's going to drop us at the airport then go and spend the weekend in London and has a list of exhibitions to see and old friends to visit.

Leaving at half five tomorrow morning.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 04/01/2008 18:19

who are you going with boco

hope dp has a nice weekend

BBBee · 04/01/2008 18:20

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 04/01/2008 18:21
