For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Okay, what are people's feelings re the meet up?
As I see it, at least two of us are skint.
It is quite chilly for picnics.
And some people want to do an adult only one.
I would quite happily go for an optimistic outdoor one, but I realise other people may not feel this way.
So...
Either we do a budget one soon
OR
The people who want to can go for a champagne-type one soon
AND
we do a big picnic one when the weather is more reliable
OR
what?
Lionheart mentioned Kew, which I think is a good idea - what do other people think?
I was also tentatively considering city farms.

TooTicky · 06/01/2008 20:57

Okay, three of us are skint

pinkspottywellies · 06/01/2008 21:20

If I was going to come I would quite like an adult only one.

BBBee · 06/01/2008 21:31

oh toot - I don;t want to commit to anything as life is cock a hoop crazy and if I do come it will be most last minute. My course starts again on wednesday and I have learnt that all planning ahead can go balls up at the last minute so it just makes me feel guilty if I say I am doing anything.

I would love it though and would try and come. I do love kew gardens very very much indeed - was that an option. I love champagne and I like city farms. My favourite thing is easy parking / travel.

psw - you are doing well with all your running and stuff. I hope it continues to go well. are you on any threads on here about it?

My parents (after years of me nagging explaining) are going over to organic / free range meat. this may not seem big news but it has taken a long time and I am really pleased.

Do you think boco is sipping wine somewhere outside wearing just a cardigan? I hope she is.

BBBee · 06/01/2008 21:32

(I meant 'just a cardigan' rather than a coat - not 'just a cardigan' meaning nothing else.)

Sorry bocs!

BBB great news on meat/parents! Yes I'm on the beginners running thread. I've found a programme to follow and got a podcast with interval training on. I left the house saying 'I should be half an hour but I might not manage it' so I was grinning like a loon when the half hour was up and I was still alive! Did 40 mins of yoga last night too and I've started eating less. Since the early days of bf I've got used to eating as soon as I get a bit hungry but I don't need to!

BBBee · 06/01/2008 22:11

have just watched that last episode of the royal family - it is so beautiful and sad and oh

anorak · 06/01/2008 22:36

Oh I have been very naughty today. DH and I went out for lunch and I had a caeser salad, followed by lobster thermidor with fresh vegetables and rice, then chocolate ice cream sundae

I resisted the temptation to have wine and had a big glass of OJ afterwards. Does that make it ok? Will eat veg soup for supper too.

OverRated · 06/01/2008 22:53

anorak. I'm eating a marmite sandwich. Have had 5 portions of F&V so far and still have dinner to eat so might make it to 10 today. Yippeeee.

Do nuts count? And what about Olives?

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2008 23:12

nuts - no
olives - yes

have had 4 satsumas and may have another two

I've been watching the film Boco sent me - I don't know how to describe it. Ooh it is late.

something completely random - I had a tub of glow sticks about half left in there and when I was tidying up earlier I knocked them over - of course it set them all off and they were all glowing when I peeked in

I didn't know what to do with them (they only last about 24 hours and ds not home till tomorrow tea time) so I threw them in the bin. Now every time I open the bin I think wtf??? LOL I feel a bit sad about it, and it seems symbolic of something, but really what else could I do with them? get up in the middle of the night and wave them around?

PSW, I'm very impressed.

Bee, do go to Sweden, it really is beautiful, and so child-friendly.

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2008 23:17

I wish Boco was here so we could talk about the film

or I wish I was there, in just a cardigan (that would have fitted right in with the film actually, there was someone in just a cardigan several times I think)

OP posts:
TooTicky · 06/01/2008 23:18

You could have done something arty with them and then photographed it. Maybe

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2008 23:18

it was a Swedish film! In Swedish!

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2008 23:19

I have done something arty with them. I have put them in the bin. It's a commentary on our disposable society and the ephemeral nature of youth. Ahem.

OP posts:
TooTicky · 06/01/2008 23:22

If it was an Astrid Lindgren film, I can discuss.... otherwise, I am hopeless with films. I can never remember who anybody is.

Photograph it! Then get it into a gallery. No, sod that, put your whole actual bin in a gallery.

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2008 23:30

erm

they will only glow for 24 hours

after tonight it will just be a bin with some plastic tubes in it

fgs I need to get MOVING with this, where is Charles Saatchi's number?

OP posts:
BBBee · 06/01/2008 23:32

JUST WAIT A MINUTE!

Boco sent you a film of swedish people in just cardigans?

Was it one of those d***y films?

Is the whole 10/10 thing a front?

God, is that why toot is organising a meet up in a swedish chalet?

OMG!

BBBee · 06/01/2008 23:34

ah franny - you need a video camera and you video it for 24hours and then play it on speeded up and as the glow fades it cuts to, um, a video of your scan and a bowl of cut up mango?

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2008 23:35

yy everyone sends me smut, don't you remember MrsC sent me fab filthy poetry?

where IS MrsC?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2008 23:36

so, Bee, do you like my cardigan?

OP posts:
OverRated · 06/01/2008 23:47

Put them in the freezer, Franny

OverRated · 06/01/2008 23:49

I was talking about the glowsticks, not whatever you were flashing at BBBeee
