For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2007 08:21

i am paying attention already

FrannyandZooey · 22/10/2007 08:21

Now we can return to our usual form of people gatecrashing to say nice title. This one is courtesy of FrayedKnot.

I have eaten 2 apples, 2 pears, 2 kiwis, raisins. Hmm. They were small ones, so I don't think it is 6 portions, quite. Would be quite impressive if it was.

ahundredtimes · 22/10/2007 08:23

Oh I put this on the last thread, here it is again:

Poor Wombling. Toothache is the pits.

You were all exceptionally kind to dh last night. I do appreciate it. He had a lovely time, much more fun that he ought to have had. I was so fed up with him going on about this ghastly event that I told him to ask MN about what to do - was surprised that he did!

Anyway, thank you. Also v. funny when he appeared upstairs and said 'There's someone called Codblog or something who can't type and keeps saying 'farking nora' and shouting at me.' Ha ha ha. I think, I HOPE, that the message he got was 'don't do any games.'

I am going off to make a Big List. People are coming to stay here while we are away, which means I've also got to tidy the house. I am wondering whether to tell them about the mouse.

Yesterday, surprisingly nice. Good food - very good butternut squash risotto - and good walk in woods. Everyone made a den.

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2007 08:23

the title is passing me by as as per

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2007 08:26

Yes Franny re your message from last thread, yes, I wondered that too. At one point I wandered past and said 'That's it now, say thank you very much and stop' and he said okay, and then he was still there.

I said 'You're showing off, you should Step Away' and he then he did. Hah.

I didn't think you were flirting and flicking your hair, I thought you were all Very Kind.

FrannyandZooey · 22/10/2007 08:30

jeez, you are kidding - loofah art? Thanks for the warning, I was thinking of sneaking up to see the crack

FrannyandZooey · 22/10/2007 08:31

We were Kind, and then we flicked our hair a bit and cod came in and told us not to, but SHE was the worst. Echo effects and holograms, indeed

lol. Well he won't be allowed to do it again I don't think. I said to him they were being kind to you, but you're not really welcome, you do understand that?

Anyway, I must go and do my Big List.

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2007 08:33

i have put a pic of the outside of the tate modern on my profile..unsuitable for franny alert..so you can't go there until the 10 of jan i think

amazing for everyone else though...i am a fan

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 22/10/2007 08:35

I havent been on here before but DO need to get DH and I eating more fruit & veg, and getting fitter so I thought I'd come and say hello.

I just checked out the guidelines in the link and I'm a bit shocked at the portion sizes as we eat nowhere near that amount. I make sure DDs get lots of veg but we seem to miss out.

Promise to try though...

FrannyandZooey · 22/10/2007 08:39

LOL at "they were being kind to you, but you're not really welcome"

Zippi I am shocked, even the OUTSIDE of the Tate Modern is loofahed? wtf did no-one tell me this before? I have spoken to loads of people about maybe going up there. Perhaps they are secretly laughing about it and waiting for me to turn up, freak out and fall down the crack

Funky I know what you mean, but at least most of the fruit portions are easy - the amount of fruit you can hold in your hand, or one apple, one pear, one orange etc. Remember a child's f + v portions will be slightly smaller - but 3 tbsp of veg is not THAT much. Which ones in particular were you shocked by?

and yes the outside is loofahed..

so explain the title

i have just been chatting to the delivery man in my dressing gown..doing a cherie blair as i live on a busy street

ahundredtimes · 22/10/2007 08:47

Shan't - I think Avi.

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 22/10/2007 09:15

Franny - not really the fruit as I can get my head around an apple or a banana but it is the veg. Often I add beg to our plates but I tend to do ONE tablespoon of carrots, ONE of sweetcorn and ONE of broccoli. So, we are getting 3 types of veg = Good, but apparantly not enough = bad
