For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I don't care if they are too salty or too orange, I like them, though I wouldn't feed them to a baby.

MrsCarrot · 19/10/2007 23:49

I like wotsits too but they are quite filthy

Boco · 20/10/2007 00:02

Oh Boco you are SO LOVELY, with your smile and your heart-shaped face, you are like someone out of a novel.

The hair looks good. You look good.

TooTicky · 20/10/2007 10:15

Boco, you look fabulous

I had 10 hours sleep last night

MrsCarrot · 20/10/2007 10:17

Yes, it looks lovely, Boco, but I agree with Avi, it's still long! How much did you have cut off?

Did you enjoy your sandwich, Avi?

I have been reading interesting things about cravings and how bread and sugary stuff creates opioids like morphine in the brain. Explains my trance-like bread purchase and subsequent uncivilised stuffing of it.

TooTicky · 20/10/2007 10:19

100x, we could come over for a visit and then you will see what loopy really is, and when we've gone you will suddenly feel that your life is perfectly sane and organised.

TooTicky · 20/10/2007 10:20

What is it in the bread MrsC? The yeast? The wheat? I adore good bread but do occasionally overdose and feel quite grotty.

TooTicky · 20/10/2007 10:22

Ds2 is small and pitiful today and didn't eat much porridge.
Dd2 is really struggling with her stammer. I'm hoping so much that it goes before she starts feeling self-conscious about it.

TooTicky · 20/10/2007 10:24

I am going to do great things in the garden today. I am telling you so that you can check up on me later.

Lullabyloo · 20/10/2007 10:57

i got up too late
i made butternut squash muffins with much less sugar than recommended...& lemony cream cheese & lavender
dh was grumpy because I hadn't read his mind & washed his jeans ready for wedding today(he was wearing them last night)
ds is grumpy full stop about everything & asking lots of inane questions
the house is a tip
i am still in pj's & woolie hat
i have to go to the farmers market
i would like to crawl back under the duvet & go to sleep

pinkspottywellies · 20/10/2007 11:05

Glad friend's boyf was acceptable Boco, and love your hair.

Muffins sound delicious Lullaby. Do you cook much with Lavender? I've picked some ready to use and have found biscuit recipe but not tried it yet.

Enjoy the gardening TooT I will check later and make sure you have made progress!

I haven't eaten much this morning. A pear, some apple juice and a piece of toast with Nutella - the new healthiest breaksfast according to the ad . I'm making feijoada tomorrow if anyone wants to share a recipe there is a thread.

ahundredtimes · 20/10/2007 11:32

I don't think knowing the science of food changes anything does it? Bread is delicious. So is morphine.

I love morphine. Makes you so sleepy and heavy and blissed out. I remember it like it was yesterday. After ds2's section I asked for some and they looked me up and down and said 'Er, no, I don't think so. You can have codine.' I was rumbled, rumbled as a post-section junky.

Lullabyloo · 20/10/2007 12:16

Boco....you are beeeeeeeautiful

FrayedKnot · 20/10/2007 14:49

Boco your hair looks lovely - I do agree though, if that is an "after" pic, you must have had Rapunzel tresses before!

I don;t eat bread. I find the opiate thing incredibly powerful and it doesn;t do me any good to be falling asleep every time I eat it. Since I started 10/10 I have loads less cravings for things generally, and don;t get th slump so much..except of course when I get repeatedly woken up early

It was 6.10 this morning, which was an improvement on 5.30 I suppose

By 9.30 I had spring cleaned my kitchen including the floor and we were at Ikea.

I ate a fruit salad and walked briskly round about 50 times trying to find stuff.

Have also had veg soup, an apple, dried fruit with breakfast.

FrayedKnot · 20/10/2007 14:56

LL send your grumpy DH over here to meet mine, they can delight in out grumping each other.

Since DH came home from Barcelona all he has talked about is (a) how overdrawn we are on our joint account - in heavily accusatory tones and (b) how dirty the hob is - ditto

DH is not normally a nit picker, and pays virtually no attention to our finances, so it feels intrusive and critical. I know he is very tired, but if he could just actually moan about being tired rather than picking, I would be happier

littlerach · 20/10/2007 15:12

I am still trying.

A little hungover today, but have managed to have carrot soup which was lovely. Then grapes and strawberries. And pumpkin seeds.

I am thinking about taking the gilrs for a walk to the white horse. But only htinking. I have a very chilly nose today.

MrsCarrot · 20/10/2007 15:21

It doesn't change it being delicious, 100x, no, what it does is offer some explanation for a zombied walk to buy it, cut it, smother it in butter and marmite before cramming it into one's mouth fully aware of the consequnces. Days of agony, indigestion, foggy brain and lethargy before being culminating in illness some on this thread would prefer not to be discussed.

It also has a terrible effect on syntax.

MrsCarrot · 20/10/2007 15:28

though I appreciate someone who tolerates bread very well would just think - I fancy some bread - eat it, and think no more of it.

Lullabyloo · 20/10/2007 16:15

FK...... I think we are married to the same man

ds hasn't had his nap....he has eyelids like garfield...is tired & weepy & is slumped on the sofa nursing his grazed knee & a mug of hot manuka honey ,orange & lemon for the cough that materialised in the night.........oh woe...he started a cough last October & it hung around for 6 months

pineapple,pears,blueberries
sushi with carrot,cucumber,avocado,spring onion,red pepper,celery
butternut squash,leek & ginger soup

fullmoonfiend · 20/10/2007 17:06

''FMF what was that all about, and was it you who mentioned findhorn before?''

sorry Avi, you've lost me...whay was what about? We have talkd about findhorn...

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2007 18:36

Lovely hair Boco

I am glad bootcamp helped some people. I wasn't really sure whether to keep it up. I think it was annoying some people. I do want everyone to eat lots of veg etc and I will try to support you all if that helps.

Can anyone who hasn't arranged a bank transfer to me for the meal, please do so straight away please? I need the money by 25th October, and it takes several days for the money to arrive in my account, so you really should do it now to be sure of it arriving. I can't possibly cover the deposit money without the funds from you all, sorry. I've received money and emails from Avi, FK, PSW, Boco, Tatties and Lionheart so far, plus Zippi I think yours is on the way. There's about 8 or 9 of you who I haven't heard from - are you coming?
