For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh sorry MrsC, let's talk about it another time.

Franny, how did the boot camp thing go? I was in the pit all the time. Did everyone step up to the mark? I think we're all a bit useless on here. I NEVER seem to talk about food.

MrsCarrot · 19/10/2007 22:12

yes, ds1 nearly 10, not seen ed psych yet, just referred. Too long a story for late night fruit thread maybe, can we postpone chat?

I can rarely find a good mango.

FrannyandZooey · 19/10/2007 22:16

I don't know, 100, no-one has mentioned if they liked it really, and it sort of petered out

people keep asking for boot camps and stuff and then when I do one am I not sure if people want it

ahundredtimes · 19/10/2007 22:17

Yes, let's book it for another time. I've also got a chat with TooT scheduled about mild aspergic tendencies.

I'm a riot aren't I!

Now, who wants to talk shoes or books or the works of ee cummings or erm . . fruit, I suppose, if I have to.

I'd like to talk about Boco's hair, if I'd seen it that is. Oh yes.

FrannyandZooey · 19/10/2007 22:20

i like ee cummings

he has the same grasp of punctuation as I have

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 19/10/2007 22:23

ah, yes, cummings, he was dreadulf to his wife wasn't he?

pinkspottywellies · 19/10/2007 22:25

Franny we do want it but you have to take charge! People ramble off on non-vegery and they want to be taken firmly in hand.

ahundredtimes · 19/10/2007 22:26

I had an ex boyfriend who used to write me poems in the style of ee cummings. I thought it was very glamorous, but it wasn't at all of course, it was a pretentious and showey-offy. I find I am looking back on a lot of my life like this. It is depressing.

I suppose the up-side is I don't realize it at the time. So all the stuff I might do now that I think is funny and good and glamorous, when I'm sixty I'll bite my fingers and shake my head and say 'You were such a fool, a fool.'

FrannyandZooey · 19/10/2007 22:26

[sigh] I am sure they don't all want that Pink

how can I tell which ones do and which ones don't

I think we need more organised person really

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 19/10/2007 22:27

no no 100 if it is glamorous at the time, then it is glamorous

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 19/10/2007 22:31

glamour is definitely in the present I think, you can't look back and say it wasn't after all, that is belittling to your emotions at the time. Though of course we can look back and say it was when it didn't seem to be as well. Does that make sense? Is glamour outside a time frame? Gah.

Franny - I shivered at the pit and quickly ate an apple.

FGS I'll take my tent down then and come into the warm

ahundredtimes · 19/10/2007 22:50

Oh no FK you should keep marching. You've done very well, you and Avi both.

I've been rubbish, but I've had a rubbish week generally and am going slowly, but none the less quite dramatically, loopy.

FrayedKnot · 19/10/2007 22:52

God I must go ot bed. Nighty night

MrsCarrot · 19/10/2007 22:55

??

ahundredtimes · 19/10/2007 23:00

Oh I don't know, stuff. Also Anne has gone off somewhere strident and sensible - Norway perhaps? - and left me drifting about being maudlin and mad.

I'm okay.

Tatties · 19/10/2007 23:00

Ooh Pink yes

Unruly girls
Who will not settle down
They must be taken in hand

or something like that

Erm YES Franny I have been to the gym, I am taking this bootcamp seriously. And I have been listening to DM. And thinking up more thread titles. And having another boot crisis. I want to stay and chat but it is far too late AGAIN and I need to go to bed

MrsCarrot · 19/10/2007 23:02

Is she eating delicious fish in Norway, 100x, while you eat mars bars?

Hi Tatties
