For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Ow, Tatties! Can feel the blister already! Another pair of socks?

Tatties · 12/10/2007 14:25

go on then fmf

SK I think another pair of socks would make them too tight. And my feet would roast I really am an awkward bugger when it comes to footwear

FrayedKnot · 12/10/2007 14:29

lol lol lol Franny I had completely forgotten I had that on my profile [grin

It was ages ago!!

Thank you I will now amend it to something more gratitudinous

I've not yet thought of anything constructive. We did the splitting up and getting back again thing about 5 years in. Perhaps some couples need to do this on a regular basis

I have a bit of aheadache and I'm going to a stand up comedy night tonight. I hope at least one of them is funny.

Our main PC has died and I am about to go and unplug it for DH to take it to the PC mending shop. I think I will still be able to use our wireless connection but if I suddenly disappear for days you will know where I am.

Here. With no internet. Doing OTHER THINGS.

fullmoonfiend · 12/10/2007 14:36

ok, he's nine years older than me, very tall and broad, with long , thick dark hair and amazing greeney eyes.
He used to be a biker, but since the kids, he just goes and strokes his Triumph longingly now and again. We have been married for 12 years, together 15.
He is not roamntic in the usual way, but you can find that streak in him on top of a hill, watching the sun set...
He likes to chew the fat round a fire, drink too much beer/wine, listen to music, argue that black is white for the hell of it, and has an unhealthy secret love for bubblegum sci-fi, Lord Of the Rings, Isaac Asimov and Terry Pratchett.
His mission statement is Theakstons-fuelled Philosophy At A Price You can Afford.
Once he got very drunk in LA and was ordained into the Universal Life Church (Motto- Do The Right Thing )

Sometimes he oblingingly plays scrabble even though he hate it as I always win.

And in return, sometimes I let him put his fingers on my buzzers if he gets a question right on University Challenge...

FrayedKnot · 12/10/2007 14:39

Oh you are all still there

My last post should have read

FMV "Buzzers"

Tatties · 12/10/2007 14:41

FMF you sound very much in love

zippitippitoes · 12/10/2007 16:42

you all seem to have fun partners hs etc

zippi is getting nervous lol

fullmoonfiend · 12/10/2007 17:40

Aw thanks Tatties, I think I am (even though sometimes, one has to remind oneself of the other half's good points

Boco · 12/10/2007 17:51

Hello Veggers, hope everyone is ok today, not read thread yet. Am feeling deflated after speaking to ofsted today. Franny will you home educate for me? [glum]

pinkspottywellies · 12/10/2007 17:58

Have I missed a bit? I didn't know you wanted to HE Boco. What did ofsted say? Remind me how old your dcs are.

FrannyandZooey · 12/10/2007 18:08

Boco you live quite near a fab HE community, in Beccles, you know?

Avi I have seen it now and I LIED on it, because I didn't want her to know that I AM having a lesbian crush on you. It was none of her business.

and [jealous] of everyone being so mad to meet Greeny. Let me tell you it is a unique experience. I am slightly grumpy about a) her not coming and b) everyone being so devastated about it, so I will move swiftly on...

still thinking man oh man about LL's dh coming

and feeling disappointed that Mr FMF is NOT coming

Tatties is it too late to send them back? It doesn't sound like they fit, at all. Try the next size down and if they don't fit try a different pair.

I am eating a very large bowl of Pink Everything Soup. It's a mixture of some soup I had in the freezer, and some leftover roasted veg - beetroot, squash, and jacket potatoes. It is frighteningly pink and tastes brilliant.

Boco · 12/10/2007 18:09

Oh i don't want to HE, i like the idea but don't think i'd be good enough, I want Franny to do it. I'm just being moany after disappointing day with the battle of the birthday table. There's a thread if you didn't see it birthday table [disappointed]

And i'm having fishfingers and beans for tea.

FrannyandZooey · 12/10/2007 18:10

Oh and I have two sports sessions and a birthday to do tomorrow, and my voice is about 50% gone.

Have been necking elderberry extract and superfood like anything. And I don't feel ill anymore. But so far this winter looks like colds 1 Franny nil

FrannyandZooey · 12/10/2007 18:11

Boco my HEing so far is letting ds do things with mud and water and string and leaves and sticks. Which seems to me to be highly educational, and his raison d'etre at the moment.

It also allows me vast swathes of time to Mumsnet

IdrisTheDragon · 12/10/2007 18:18

Boco I have been reading your birthday table thread. Sorry today has not been good .

I was HEd for a year. But not for the right reasons I don't think.

zippitippitoes · 12/10/2007 18:29

(still quite jealous at sound of him...)

F&Z - I've made dh sound quite an attractive soul, haven't I? He is not classically handsome. And as he is a little depressed man-sad at the moment, it's probably just as well he's not coming. But he is a lovely bloke.

FrannyandZooey · 12/10/2007 18:43

Nah, I was just being cheeky, but he does sound lovely, and interesting and all that

fullmoonfiend · 12/10/2007 18:49
