For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

You remembered the link, Franny will be pleased with you. No 'pick pick pick' like I got.

I have had chicken and vegetable soup, some fruit salad and banana and peanut butter on rice cakes. It is chilly.

IdrisTheDragon · 01/10/2007 16:30

I have put on furry socks .

Boco · 01/10/2007 16:35

It's freezing here too, dp has a no heating until november rule, so i've had the heating on but have to switch it off and have the house cool back down by six or he gives me a lecture on carbon footprints, electricity bills, put on more jumpers blah blah blah...

do tons of washing so you need to put it all on the radiators? I love woolley socks.

lionheart · 01/10/2007 17:41

We have a November rule too but we compete to see who is hardiest and who cracks first.

TooTicky · 01/10/2007 18:01

We have no hot water.

Went to my friend's house today and cuddled her baby and we picked nettles and blackberries in the rain and got SOAKED and then we made soup and stewed berries with apples and it was lovely.

Have chocolate and orange pudding in the oven.

Do you suppose Franny is having fun gadding about without us?

lionheart · 01/10/2007 18:14

She will be fretting about London stuff.

lionheart · 01/10/2007 18:25

Where's the water gone, TooT?

TooTicky · 01/10/2007 18:29

There's plenty of water, it just won't heat.

IdrisTheDragon · 01/10/2007 19:06

Brrr on the lack of hot water.

TooTicky · 01/10/2007 19:39

We'll have to go swimming just to get clean (shower is also naff).

filthymindedvixen · 01/10/2007 19:57

love the title - here is my special ''I did good punning' badge....

FrayedKnot · 01/10/2007 19:58

Love the title

I am definitely on the veg of reason today

I have raging pmt and very wheaty bloaty sweet things keep trying to sneak themselves into my mouth...I could eat ten rounds of hot buttered toast

But I'm NOT going to.

I have eatena stir fry, a punnet of raspberries, a nectarine, some dried apple rings

But I still want toast

FrayedKnot · 01/10/2007 20:01

No hot water is pants

I have the heating on

Boco · 01/10/2007 20:27

I have heating on too. I won.

Poor Toots with no hot water!

I need to plan drawing class at dds school for wednesday - no idea what i'm going to actually do with them - 12 key stage 2 drawers - has anyone got any inspirational ideas - or actually any ideas at all..please?

I just made a deliciously tangy sausage and apple casserole with onion, courgette, apple, butternut squash, pepper, apple juice and mash.

TooTicky · 01/10/2007 20:29

Key stage 2 drawers? They keep them in drawers?

Get them to draw things that make them happy. Or where they'd really like to live.

TooTicky · 01/10/2007 20:30

How about mythical creatures? Making up their own that is.

aCarrot · 01/10/2007 20:32

That sounds delicious, Boco. I have an apple cake in the oven at the moment, it's a bit of an experiment so not sure how it will turn out.

You could do animal drawings with them? Like a horse or something that seems hard to draw but once you get the basic shape it's easier, or an elephant. Then do tents and have a circus, or collective zoo with all their animals. Don't do still life, or even worse, perspective. Is it just me or did those art lessons drag on?
