For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

The huge old oak tree that I have loved and hugged (and climbed when no-one was watching) and indeed, measured, has been slain.

zippitippitoes · 07/10/2007 12:39

hi all

I can't keep up...

MrsCarrot · 07/10/2007 12:39

Hi Zippi

Lionhart - Why, where?

lionheart · 07/10/2007 12:49

There must have been something wrong with it. It has been felled.

There are men with hard hats and chain saws lopping the branches off even as I write.

There are people standing around looking sorrowful as well.

It is in a lane near here. It was huge.

lionheart · 07/10/2007 12:49

Hi Zippi, how are you?

zippitippitoes · 07/10/2007 12:50

how sad but all good thing s come to an end

zippitippitoes · 07/10/2007 12:51

it's kiers birthday tomorrow...can't get him out of my head

lionheart · 07/10/2007 12:52

It is sad. It was a great meeting place for children. There were always children, even teenage ones, climbing it or sitting on the branches.

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 12:55

Oh zippi is that your ex-p?

oh lionheart I am sorry

oh MrsC I hope you are alright about last night and it didn't just churn everything up

no I am sure Madonna does run out of batteries but she doesn't have to run down to sainsburys with wet hair to get some more, was what I meant. I am not exactly sure what relevance this has but, well, there is not much filtering between brain and fingers as you have probably noticed

oh shit I must go

Lullabyloo · 07/10/2007 13:00

MrsCarrot · 07/10/2007 13:04

What a lot of Oh's this morning! Hope it goes well, Franny, did you take ephedrine?

Lionhart - could you plant a tree, I know it's a shame when something is so grand but it might make you feel better.

100x - how are the meringues, are they chewy, powdery, fluffed up? Did they stick? I always sound out meringues in my head when I write it - Me-rin-gues, funny how some spellings just won't go in.

LL, you do not need milk. It is highly unnecessary, designed for calves, and generally full of pus.

I am SO not an amazing mummy. You are mixing me up with somebody else.

We have conkered, parked and swum.

Stew'n'dumplings are a-simmering
