For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh Franny, that has given me more delight than is reasonable for a grown up person. I want to print it out and put it on my wall. Thank you!

I will finish thrashing you - but must cook first.

Oh yes Carrot, the joking came through

Oh dear, you won't come for lunch now will you, in case I poison the potatoes or something.

Perhaps I am no good at the joke huff. I have laughed and laughed as I type my huffs but my laugh has not followed through onto the screen. I will have to resort to emoticons again.

I need my apron, poor ds1, his first match on the school team and they lost 6 nil. H was subbed and is completely gutted.

FrannyandZombie · 02/10/2007 17:42

Oh no poor everyone.

ahundredtimes · 02/10/2007 18:05

Oh no MrsC. DS2 had to play a game of tag rugby against another school yesterday. He said he cried on the bus, and when he was asked what was wrong he said 'We've only played this twice. How can we beat anyone?'
He had a point I think.

I am taking cover in here. DS1 is in the kitchen doing maths homework. It is painful, and the faffing and humming and hawing is driving me mad.

There is a pet? What sort of pet?

FrannyandZombie · 02/10/2007 18:10

It, erm, it might be, a kind of, erm

well it's a bird. A mynah bird.

ahundredtimes · 02/10/2007 18:12

Oh but no Franny, they are AWFUL.

Honestly, my grandfather was once attacked my mynah birds in Africa, they flew down at pecked at this head and blood ran down everywhere and honestly, they are not PETS.

where is it?

FrannyandZombie · 02/10/2007 18:16

It wasn't my idea.

I think it's over there, standing very still next to the lamp. It knows you don't like it.

FrannyandZombie · 02/10/2007 18:18

Oh lordy lord I just searched on google images for "mynah bird attack" so I could post a funny image to annoy you with and I got a picture of Frank sitting in the cinema in Donnie Darko. Oh hell oh hell, that scares me SO MUCH. I have just about stopped having nightmares since I watched it 4 years ago. I am sorry now and I won't do it again.

MrsCarrot · 02/10/2007 18:19

is that how you spell it? My-ner, oops.

Yes, 100x, there were a lot of fruit scraps left around and everybody was playing scrabble in the church hall and I was LONELY and they do love fruit. Why, would you have preferred, a canary?

MrsCarrot · 02/10/2007 18:22

ds1 only had the team trial last week and they haven't had a single practise, very unfair I think. To make matters worse the other team all seemed very short to me. Oh well. We did lose 13 nil in netball once.

ahundredtimes · 02/10/2007 18:27

You know when you said that thing about it being still next to the lamp? I actually had to get up and walk away from the computer.

Isn't that mad? It's just the thought of the bird, and the fruit scraps, make me very itchy and jumpy.

ahundredtimes · 02/10/2007 18:36

At the school with no rules we lost every single match of netball. We also didn't have any uniform, so we wore a weird assortment of clothes, and headbands and baseball jackets, and make-up and I had some baseball boots I remember, they might even have been Converse - have they really been around that long? Oh and yellow neon socks.

We didn't play hockey or lacrosse or anything. Apparantly there was a lacrosse team once but no other school would play our school, because it got so violent. Ditto hockey.

FrannyandZombie · 02/10/2007 18:42

Sorry, 100

we all joke about it but if it really does upset you I will try very hard to use self control and not do it

I sort of thought you were doing comedy bird hating

sorry

Boco · 02/10/2007 18:42

Do you hate my profile picture then Franny?

Poor you 100x, this could be just the place to conquer those fears. We could get a um, loofah in for Franny and do some self hypnosis and you could stroke the bird. You might learn to love the feel of the jerky bird head movements and the cold prehistoric eyes.

My mum used to have a stuffed green parrot. It was really dusty and moth eaten - i hated the glass eyes more than anything because they were so unreal they gave it a deranged expression and i used to imagine that's the face it had pulled at the moment it had been killed....sorry i don't know why i'm rambling about parrots - 100 probably fainted back at bird head.

Boco · 02/10/2007 18:43

Sorry 100. I feel ashamed now.

zippitippitoes · 02/10/2007 18:44

hello folks i hope you are all well

i am not being very good at mn lately or fruit veg or exercise

i start bricklaying tomorrow which should be interesting

FrannyandZombie · 02/10/2007 18:44

yes i would imagine that has helped her A LOT Boco

Erm I don't mind all rabbit-related stuff, just that one thing really. It does also make me a little more sympathetic than I would otherwise be at 4 am when ds calls me in to get rid of "the rabbit shadow". Which he does about 1 night in 4.

FrannyandZombie · 02/10/2007 18:46

Good evening zippi

did we ever get the full expose about your holiday?

Boco · 02/10/2007 18:47

Very sorry.
