For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Maybe you have to be older to enjoy still life. I liked doing at at secondary school. I loved it when my grandmother taught me perspective though - I think I was 8 or 9.

aCarrot · 01/10/2007 20:49

Oh dear. Sorry. Well, maybe not fruit still life, but something more interesting? I think Toot's right, that might be better for older children. They could do portraits but they've probably already done that. Um, I don't know... Franny's good with small chldren's classes, when is she back?

I got up at five to drive to my course so am not here for long. good title though.

toot;s life witht eh chocolate orange thing and the nettles sounds great apart from the no hot water bit.

boco - I love you to bits but I the casserole really did not appeal.

is franny not back from london yet?

I went to my course - was great but not as great as you lot all are. Good thing was that I blagged it aout Alistair campbell's biog all from 100x lusting posts!

I proclaim the meet up already a huge success!

Tatties · 01/10/2007 21:23

Evening LOVE the title!

Boco don't know if these suggestions are appropriate for the age group (can't remember what KS2 is), but how about doing a zoom in on some still life? So detail of a flower's petals or leaves on a plant for example. Or maybe something autumn-themed, something inspired by autumnal colours/happenings?

Avi lovely pics! Shall I do some sharing too?

FK, sympathy with raging PMT. I was starting to feel a bit weird as my period was late..

BBB you must be knackered!

MrsC how are you? Have you given us an update on your boobs?

TT no hot water sounds awful!

Well, you had time to change your name!

lionheart · 01/10/2007 21:34

Poor Franny. Spill the beans.

aCarrot · 01/10/2007 21:34

and I think you should get frankenstein in there somehow....

oh listen to me, was it good, are you tired, did you find somewhere, are you going to cancel the whole thing?

aCarrot · 01/10/2007 21:35

Boco did the new thread and she remembered the link, well she would wouldn't she

Tatties · 01/10/2007 21:36

Hey Franny You've been Frankenstein before haven't you?

pinkspottywellies · 01/10/2007 21:36

Hello, good fruit and veg day today. Not a bacon sandwich in sight!

Boco, I had to draw 'shoes/boots/footwear' for art homework once. Much better than fruit you could get them to draw a pink spotty wellington boot. Or something! I have to say, I quite enjoyed perspective, it made it all make sense (IYSWIM)!

Lovely thread, lovely thread title. I need an early night.

FrannyandZombie · 01/10/2007 21:38

I did the name change this morning before I left - I was DrFrankenZooey last year and people are STILL CALLING ME FRANK because of it

never again

ah, well

I have walked from Holborn to Marble Arch with a rather unfortunate detour all the way up Tottenham Court Rd. And back. Geography never my strongest point.

I have bought Things. Tops and Things. And coloured tights.

pinkspottywellies · 01/10/2007 21:39

Hello Franny, hope you had a lovely day. I meant to say Happy Birthday yesterday because I missed it and wasn't on for a couple of days. I did remember it though and thought of you frequently over the weekend - just forgot yesterday when I finally got back on t'internet. Sorry and Happy Birthday.

And Happy Birthday TooT x

pinkspottywellies · 01/10/2007 21:39

OOOOH! What colour are your tights?

FrannyandZombie · 01/10/2007 21:39

yes yes Boco's link is fab

I must say I think we should have 'women on the veg of a nervous breakdown' in a couple of months please

I think I have sorted out the meet up. I will email everyone tomorrow or something and ask their approval but I think thunderbirds are go. Yay us!

FrannyandZombie · 01/10/2007 21:40

thank you PSW

they are teal and hot pink

I think I am having a mid life crisis

FrannyandZombie · 01/10/2007 21:40

that is ONE pair is teal, and ONE pair hot pink

not the same pair, ooh lordy

pinkspottywellies · 01/10/2007 21:42

Oh no. You can play poker on facebook. I want to join. I already spend far too many hours on Scrabble and MN. Everyone, please tell me NO. I mustn't start another habit.

aCarrot · 01/10/2007 21:42

lol at people still calling you Frank!

I love London when I'm in the mood for it, otherwise I find it horribley opressive and sort of turn aroubd in circles feeling like a country bumpkin.

Coloured tights, they sound fun. I look awful in them, legs like hams I have. Well, they're not that bad but they're not thin.

aCarrot · 01/10/2007 21:43

My dining room is teal.

FrannyandZombie · 01/10/2007 21:45

Sorry for not having done any Scrabbling at all.

AHUNDRED LOOK AWAY NOW you have been warned**

My period started 4 days early while I was in London, and I had to buy some sanitary towels as I could not face a tampon, and the whole thing was just icky. I have been dying to get home and stick my Mooncup in. Ahhhh.

Might as well put something about birds while 100 is not looking. There were not many birds in London. I may get my binoculars out tomorrow to make up for this.

FrannyandZombie · 01/10/2007 21:46

I have got very thin legs, I suspect coloured tights is A Mistake, but the excitement of them outweighed my better judgement. I am planning to wear them with like a knee length skirt and my big boots, so only a few inches will show. Do you think that would be ok?

I have been trying to persuade HC to paint her bedroom teal. Do you like it, MrsC, or do you get sick of it?

aCarrot · 01/10/2007 21:48

100x has not been here anyway, but that might be because of the new pet.

He likes fruit.
