For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I thought your house was tidy boco - infact you shohuld have come and stayed in my house when I went to E'din'Bra - you would have been shoved into perspective.

I like avi's house in the background of the knitting photo. That is the efect O would like to achieve.

ahundredtimes · 23/09/2007 16:56

Hmm. That was lovely and spare. Thing is here, if I go for spare the dcs just fill it with rubbish.

So then lovely minimalist hall or sitting-room covered in Pokemon cards, roller skates, football boots, half-eaten apples, plum stones, socks etc etc.

I don't think my dcs tidy up enough. I'm going to make them. I'm going to become house-proud and neurotic. It will be tiring, but might be worth it.

BBBee · 23/09/2007 16:58

100 - you are SO not.

Boco · 23/09/2007 17:00

It won't be worth it 100. You'll spend your life badgering and pleading and bribing and ordering and you'll be cross too much and then eventually your house will be tidy, but your children will glare at you with resentment and you'll be exhausted and croaky and you'll limp around your immaculate home wandering where all the happiness went. Just start a post about nice shoes and leave them alone.

ahundredtimes · 23/09/2007 17:33

Oh okay Besides, if I did that, then I'd have to keep my end up and tidy up too wouldn't I?

Also recycling - god that is messy stuff isn't it?

Also Sainsbury's bags with Simpsons top trumps cards under the kitchen table (having been transferred from the car) are messy, so is dd's face painting set given yesterday, and so is the packet of rotting potatoes sitting by the aga next to a pair of shorts, and chanel perfume and a tub full of name tapes and fennel tea and vitamin supplements and all the magnets off the fridge on the floor, and ds2 he is very messy, and a muskateer and wires and bottles of Vittel water -

golly this is quite fun. I am itemising what I can see from here on the kitchen sofa. I mean just some of the things all over everything.

I knew a woman whose husband used to come back from work and say 'Surfaces Jo, surfaces.' Can you imagine?

BBBee · 23/09/2007 17:36

I love you 100 - I love the fennel tea adn chanel and shorts and I love the fridge magnets on the floor.

However wonderful you are you continue to be even more wonderful!

ahundredtimes · 23/09/2007 17:40

I love you too. I liked it best when we gave careers advice. I still laugh about that, usually late at night.

ahundredtimes · 23/09/2007 17:54

I'm going to get a cleaner. I can't keep waiting for the glamorous lady I am in love with who has a bad hip. She emails me pieces she is working on for various art shows. Anyway, when she was here she didn't want to clean, she made frangipani and chutney instead.

This is the way forward.

Cleaner wanted. Must be non-lovely person with bad shoes and no exciting stories about hideous divorce to discuss.

That's the advert I'm going to put in the newsagents. I shall let you know how it goes.

TooTicky · 23/09/2007 18:20

Hello
Dd2 and I have dug the veg patch. I have made carrot cake, gingerbread, quiche and mushroom flan. Ds2 and dd2 made biscuits. I am exhausted.

Everything is a mess here and I am thoroughly disorganised all the time. I bake through sheer necessity. Dcs eat so much!!

And I have missed another photo sharing session

Boco · 23/09/2007 18:21

I have a friend who put an ad in Private Eye for a room to rent for free. She said she wants to live in London but doesn't earn much, and actually, just doesn't want to pay anything. And she got a room with an Oxford graduate mathematician genius with very poor social skills, and after about a year they fell in love, but he was too stunted and so nothing happened.

I'm not sure why i told that story, 100x ad reminded me, sometimes it does pay off to be specific.

I love you both too. But you don't have to say it back.

lionheart · 23/09/2007 18:25

I am fuffing with photos and things but need to pay closer attention to instructions.

lionheart · 23/09/2007 18:26

Why is there a decapitated dolly on your profile, TooT?

ahundredtimes · 23/09/2007 18:32

TooT - I have searched, but really I don't have anything to send you. I'm sorry. I feel ungenerous, but honestly I really don't have very many clothes, and everything fits and is needed.

IdrisTheDragon · 23/09/2007 18:32

Hello.

I am totally dis-organised. I wish I wasn't. But I am.

I may share some photos later. If I can be organised enough to do it .

ahundredtimes · 23/09/2007 18:33

I like your story Boco. Is like a margaret drabble book. Did they live in Maida Vale?
Why was he stunted? Emotionally do you mean, or just very short genius who could never reach her lips?

ahundredtimes · 23/09/2007 18:35

Or Anita Brookner. In a flat in maida vale which smells of stale fags with dark european furniture and her with her head full of sad romantic tales and him in bad cardigans and half-empty milk bottles on the table, slowly curdling in the warm morning light.

IdrisTheDragon · 23/09/2007 18:35

I may also tell (potentially amusing) tale about new bed.

Or maybe not.

lionheart · 23/09/2007 18:41

Go on.

Boco · 23/09/2007 18:45

He was emotionally and socially stunted. She writes poetry and is always falling in love and people fall in love with her quite a lot too. He was very ginger, and had no friends (not because of the gingerness, which was attractive to friend) but because he didn't know how to talk to people.

So, they lived together, but they communicated mostly by email. And in person, he was incredibly rude and blank. But by email he was sweet. And she loved him, and she came here to cry, like most of our friends. And then they had a date and she planned to be direct anne like about it all and just lay cards on table. But he messed it up by being rude and leaving restaurant early as he was bored. Then sweet touching emails. Eventually she gave up, and moved out, despite the no rent thing.

lionheart · 23/09/2007 18:47

Are you sure you're not a Titianphobe?

BBBee · 23/09/2007 19:27

oh boco I love that story - I love it TO BITS it is the best story ever.

Sigh.

BBBee · 23/09/2007 19:29

I am planning a cleaner - I mentioned it at book group (you know the period shouting one) and two women said they had a cleaner and that sounded promising but she said the clener calls you "miss_Sarah" or whatever your first name is even if you tell her not to and that made me feel awful and I would do that giving away money thing and feeling guilty.

I decided I would rather have toothpaste in my sink.

Sigh.

BBBee · 23/09/2007 20:03

and I made an pple cake and deeply unpopular pizza. The apple cake was not very 10/10 though - all sugar and butter and white flour. Quite chic though - all glistening nad elegant with eager little apple slices.

PSW?

FrayedKnot · 23/09/2007 20:05

Franny you are taller than me, I knew it.

Carotte & I will be sharing a chair at the meetup.

I've eaten some peaches and grapes, dried fruit, and a stew with carrots & courgettes in it Oh and the end of a cucumber.

I missed ALL the photos, didn;t I.

BBBee · 23/09/2007 20:08
