For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh I was just being nosy and envious Idris, you don't have to explain!

BBB I feel deflated as I was starting to believe the myth of the lovely minimalist house myself

Does anyone know how to do a very easy very straightforward blog thing? Nothing fancy just a few words and a few photos uploaded occasionally

IdrisTheDragon · 21/09/2007 18:43

I would love to have a house that could fit that many people .

The group has evolved - when there were about 5 people with immobile babies it was easier in terms of space .

filthymindedvixen · 21/09/2007 18:47

hello everyone. Am chock full of Vit C today, as I am chock full of cold. Bleuugh. Blardy typical. So I will be Specs in the City instead of gorgous contact-lens-wearing ''Why, Miss Filthymindedvixen, you look too young to be the mother of a 10-yr-old'' when confronted by eligible rich bachelors int eh fancy-hotel. Humph!

I am going to wear a long, floaty black skirt, boots and my trim, grass green cord jacket tomorrow. With interesting arty jewellery to be true to my hippy roots.

It's going to be a long evening. I want my bed and a ht toddy. DS wants to stay up all night as he is ''far too excited'' to ever sleep. Plus we have had another gold-fish casualty.

Boco · 21/09/2007 18:51

Well done on the party success Idris.

Filthy, i'm excited for you, and the outfit sounds great.

Franny - pictures of your ds and his cakes had background of very very tidy and beech looking home.

Bee, why cross and gurgly? Your dinner sounds perfectly fine. I have to do a once a week easy dinner.

Tonight is butternust squash and green bean and pepper and courgette and onion, and mushroom and borlotti bean casserole with mash.

And then i must not come back because i'm late with a commission like an idiot and have left everything until last possible moment as usual. Must go draw dogs all night for deadline of sunday.

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 18:57

FMF it sounds delicious

I fancy you myself

arty jewellery is the best isn't it? you can wear any old shit and look cool with some arty jewellery on

(so I totally delude myself anyway)

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 18:58

Boco another good woman lost to the world of work

I miss Aviiiiiiiiiiiii she is not meant to be able to keep away this easily

lionheart · 21/09/2007 19:13

We expect a full and frank report when you get back, fmv (nose pressed up against the shiny little toyshop window emoticon).

Carotte · 21/09/2007 19:23

I want to go to Hamleys. Do you think they'll have a little push along dog? I would like to get one of those for Lo.

Dc's are watching H G Wells, The Time Machine. It's quite good actually. We also had fish and chips with mushy peas and champagne, well, they had lemonade. I don't see anythiing wrong with treats now and then. I've practically eaten an orchard this week.

Glad your thinig went, Idris.

OMG THEY'VE JUST STARTED eating each other, this is getting a bit much for dd, should have remembered it going downhill better pass her to dh....

Carotte · 21/09/2007 19:24

urrrgh, now there are are scary things with weird eyes, I thought it would be dinosaurs and spaceships.

Carotte · 21/09/2007 19:25

actually I'm finding this a bit scary, dd has left the building but they are quite odd. I think he should get back to 1900 pronto.

TooTicky · 21/09/2007 19:26

Isn't Avi in France or something?

I look crap in everything. All my clothes are falling to bits.

Carrot and coriander risotto with garlicky mushrooms. Sticky chocolate sauce pudding.

Somebody dd1 sometimes plays with shut the door in her face I have to find her some human friends!!!!!!!

TooTicky · 21/09/2007 19:27

For a moment I thought your dcs were eating each other MrsC!

Carotte · 21/09/2007 19:29

What do you mean they shut the door in her face?

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 20:15

TooT what size / height are you and what kind of clothes do you like? I need a clear out here

MrsC Bedales is in the Barbara Trapido book I have just finished

Dp is trying to choose his mother some books for a birthday present. We are trying to think of titles suitable for someone in rehab from alcohol and are failing hopelessly. In fact we are now in competition to see who can come up with the worst book

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 20:15

I forgot about Avi being away
was that a bit I missed last weekend?

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:28

What's that book, Franny?

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:29

I need to clear out clothes as well, Toot, but I think from your picture I remember you being quite small?

IdrisTheDragon · 21/09/2007 20:30

Franny, I see on the Eng Lit thread you did O Level english. So you must be older than me (I saw you more in a free spirit way being younger somehow).

DH is out. I have not yet made the house back into its usual semi-tidy self (the afternoon obviously messed it up a bit, rather than me having the urge to mess it up now).

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 20:32

Brother of the More Famous Jack, carotte. It has one of my most favourite fictional men in it, Jonathan Goldman.

Idris you may well be right but I was moved up a year at school so you may well be wrong

I am really really really not a free spirit. Can we iron this out before anyone meets me and is terribly disapppointed?

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 20:33

Ah have checked your profile. Yes I am way older than you I am 36 in one week's time.

Carotte · 21/09/2007 20:42

I have not seen you as a free spirit for quite awhile, Franny. I recognise control freakery. I do.

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 20:57

Arse.

Carotte · 21/09/2007 21:02

I recognise and like control freakery, it is comforting to see traits in others. I am sure you are just the right side of bohemian.

lionheart · 21/09/2007 21:18

I think we have established that I am the elder here so can we drop this age thing ... besides which,

the original free spirits are all in their sixties by now.

Good. Carry on ignoring me.

IdrisTheDragon · 21/09/2007 21:19

That's not that much older than me .

I think it's the thread with The Skirt that influenced my thoughts. Will replace it with control freakery instead.
