For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

lionheart · 04/09/2007 16:24

Bad people on here.

I will make it when the children are abed (and probably eat it before they wake up).

lionheart · 04/09/2007 16:24

What is monkey magic?

Lullabyloo · 04/09/2007 16:25

ds was the only child to eat the veg crudites offered as a snack at nursery >
the other lo's were whining for biscuits....ds said mournfully that no one else was hungry so he had lots to eat!!!!

Lullabyloo · 04/09/2007 16:27

whispers

lionheart · 04/09/2007 16:28

Let us have it. Franny will not notice.

BBBee · 04/09/2007 16:30

monkey magic was on telly when me and my sister as little- it was japanese dubbed badly with English - was very surreal and weird.

It was on when we had piano lessons and we had to decide if we wanted to see the first half of MM and then garble it to the other sister in teh change over or miss the start and have it garbled at you and see the end and then have to explain it.

I am sure it was not as good as we thought.

lionheart · 04/09/2007 16:32

Oh, I remember, it was slightly disturbing, wasn't it?

BBBee · 04/09/2007 16:37

yes is was disturbing. There was a character who was kind of half pig who ate a lot.

TnOgu · 04/09/2007 16:39

< Hi, BBB >

I've eaten an apple and a raw carrot.

Will try and do better tomorrow.

BBBee · 04/09/2007 16:39

oh forgot to say I went to specialist chocloate shop yesterday - no montezoma crying chocolate. When to little health food shop that has montezuma chocolate but no crying kind. Am getting worried it might no be in my town.

Oh when we went punting my dad hit me on the head with the punt pole - it made a clanging noise and both my children laughed.

BBBee · 04/09/2007 16:40

hey TnOgu!

Lovely to see you!

Eat more than that. Boco is here sometimes - you must know her - she does art.

TnOgu · 04/09/2007 16:42

I love Boco.

She is very funny.

< I love you too >

zippitippitoes · 04/09/2007 16:59

oh i am going on holiday on sunday

lionheart · 04/09/2007 16:59

Where are you going, zippi?

zippitippitoes · 04/09/2007 17:08

i just started a thread..egypt..i just booked it on impulse

lionheart · 04/09/2007 17:10

Ooh.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2007 17:14

Dp has a Monkey Magic t-shirt I bought him a few years ago. He really likes it. Occasionally I worry that we have made a dreadful mistake and that it might be racist? Is it?

TnOgu hello, please do eat more things

and I WILL NOTICE any recipes (bet LL's is better than mine, grr)

Overrun it is darned popular isn't it? A couple of the new cool girls hang around on here sometimes, that must be why I don't forget who kept it going all those lonely months when they was only about 5 of us, though

I loved that programme ........oooooooooooooh memories...i'd forgotten all about it

franny....i shall not post it.....out of respect

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2007 17:50

Ah gwan

I could use a new one

OP posts:
BBBee · 04/09/2007 17:54

oh no - is it a bit racist? No it is not - can't think how - oh no but if it is glaring racist then I might be a racist and I bought the t-shirt. I always fall into racist traps on mn.

I have lost the sodding pe bags in my feral nest of a house.

Sod, bollocks, bum.

lionheart · 04/09/2007 18:10

I suppose it might be, or the voices they do might be. If I remember the programme in question.

Off to google.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2007 18:27

I just wonder if the appeal of it in the UK is bound up with laughing at Japanese people

however I don't really know much about it except that I found it scary and dp is very fond of it

OP posts:
lionheart · 04/09/2007 18:35

Yes, it might be.

Although more diverse forms of Japanese culture have become influencial since then, so things have improved a little.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2007 18:38

Yes it is kind of popular in a post modern ironic kind of way now I suppose [fret] [hand wring]

anyway, have eaten kidney beans, mushrooms, peppers, corn, carrots FROM OUR GARDEN, cabbage and tomatoes
