For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No, she was excited about the gingham

zippitippitoes · 31/08/2007 09:16

a literary question what is the difference between pllyanna rebecca of sunnybrook farm what katie did and anne of green gables

Tatties · 31/08/2007 09:19

LOL at Harpsi's gift shop story. Franny your ds sounds delightful. I am also delighted that my ds adorns himself with jewellery and my shoes whenever he gets the chance

I think FMV's "All Peaches Great and Small" is brilliant, but "Anne of Greengages" would make me daydream about Gilbert Blythe all week... Hmmm... decisions, decisions...

MrsCarrot · 31/08/2007 09:27

I would be thinking about vets with their hands up cow's arses all week with the first one so my vote is for Anne

Boco · 31/08/2007 09:27

I'm very excited about going away this afternoon. But wishing i had gone to the dentist.

Ate a peach.

See Franny, HC is here, and greeny was here last night too, talking about sharks.

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 09:39

So Greeny was on here and she AVOIDED me

and HC is gone again, that was it

we used to be on here all afternoon talking crap and making me late for work and stuff

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 09:39

All Peaches Great and Small is funny

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 31/08/2007 09:47

You do see them in real life though don't you, Franny, or are you really sad about it? Can you phone them and talk crap and be late for work?

MrsCarrot · 31/08/2007 09:48

Anne of Green-gages is funnier

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 09:52

No it isn't the same and you can't have decent phone convo with dcs around anyway

if I wanted friends to talk on the phone with all day I would have joined a phone chat line not MN

No she wants them on here MrsC. She is very demanding.

Did you sleep Franny? New day, bright start

Have just been on SN thread moaning about the holidays and how ds2 screamed for hours the other week because he said someone's shoes squeaked.

Also moany, because dh's brother and wife and children all coming to stay for weekend tonight, and I can't be arsed. Can't be bothered to clean, take ds's to supermarket etc etc.
DH swanned off to London.

Actually I'm not going to threaten it anymore. I AM on strike.

I have had therapeutic and cathartic rant in controlled slightly assertive/angry way at council and managed to speak to a senior person

so feel reasonably mepowered and expect to see parking tickets appearing like a rash sometime in the next few days

dog with bone crossed with bear with sore head...some kind of chimera

zippitippitoes · 31/08/2007 10:03

mepowered might be good but maybe not as good as empowered

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 10:03

'Very demanding'? to expect my online friends to actually be online sometimes? Grr

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 31/08/2007 10:06

hope they are around today to cheer you franny

my heart is i've just realised pounding in an alarming manner after that phone call

ahundredtimes · 31/08/2007 10:10

No you must stop moaning now Franny because I am having a sit-in and I can't move away.

You must lobby them privately, start a chat thread. Just for them.

Tatties · 31/08/2007 10:14

I think it has to be All Peaches Great and Small... inclusive of all sizes of peach

Just had OJ, raisins and big bowl of nutty seedy banana-y porridge... and some ibuprofen as I am very crampy this morning

filthymindedvixen · 31/08/2007 10:17
ahundredtimes · 31/08/2007 10:18

Oh gah. DS1 has just gone back to bed, he says he feels terrible.

Now we can't go and get food for the weekend or anything.

Okay, was a brief strike. I'd better go and do things.

MrsCarrot · 31/08/2007 10:19

Period crampy, Tatties? I think I may have PMT, can't remember when it returned with the others but he's 7 months now. Must be soon.

Off to doctors. Again. I live in there at the moment with Lo.

ahundredtimes · 31/08/2007 10:20

Have FABULOUS time Boco.

Dance at the Rivoli and make merry. Get drunk. Chat up the barman at that hotel, the dark one, in the photo.

filthymindedvixen · 31/08/2007 10:21

sun's come out so I will take my leave and go and do someone slightly more productive than devising crap and under-appreciated puns for thread titles
I going for lunch at my lovely friend's house and she always cooks gorgeous veggie soup and interesting cake...

filthymindedvixen · 31/08/2007 10:22

(I am crampy too. Oh god, we're all in sync!)
