For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lol Avi, I don't have quick links to deviant art sites, I typed ouroboros into google to get a picture.

I am not a hairy biker but my father was a Hell's Angel not that I remember much about it. Haven't seen him for years.

Biscuits for breakfast, and strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, all the children are still in bed so I must save some. I want to ring the doctors bang on 8am to get an appointment to check F's ears. I am worried about this glue ear business. I am going to go to a homeopath as well.

Toot - I would like to have a chat about this if possible, you say only one kind is worth seeing?

zippitippitoes · 31/08/2007 08:03

I can't believe it is friday already..and I even think the sun is shining

it is going to be a good day I feel..well i hope...I am quite excited at ds coming home on sunday...though it will be strange in some ways as dp has gone and the first time ds has been home since...

MrsCarrot · 31/08/2007 08:37

Ahh, that's better, feels like I've had a haircut

It's sunny here too, Zippi, hopefully it will be a nice weekend.

zippitippitoes · 31/08/2007 08:40

I have a slight dread that i might have a letter printed in the localpaper today...i had an angry old woman moment on tuesday and emailed them one about parking in our street ...

BBBee · 31/08/2007 08:50

ahh Mrs C - good to have you back - Guadalupe was hard to spell.

Avi - I don't use much else on mumsnet and I have a course starting in October - I was going to give up but am really tempted to keep posting here.

Franny - I was given the 'continum concept' and the controlled crying book in the first few weeks after DS was born. IT made me very confused and put me off child rearing books big time. Sorry you are missing old mumsnet - it does sound rather much nicer and -um- easier.

I don't use many of those smiley things - I find it helps when other people use them to add meaning but I can't make them work in my posts and it always looks wrong - like it is me making that face.

Piriton is crazy medicine - my insect bite is still bad but I can;t take anything as I am driving today. We are off to Bristol zoo.

You are all so good at breakfast (with an oversight on the biscuits Mrs C) apart from porridge tell me what you have. I have coffee.

For lunch I have packed:

tuna and cucumber sandwiches
edamame
tomatoes
plums
apples
some of that cake I made
yoghurts for the children
potato heads (ditto)

Is a much healthier picnic than I would have packed pre 10/10.

Good day to you sirs.

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 08:51

NEW TITLE I need a consensus

I am not feeling at all decisive or leaderish so you need to get yourselves in gear

we've got 120 posts left on this thread, it won't last the day

OP posts:
BBBee · 31/08/2007 08:51

zippi - I hope it is and I hope it is online - you can link and we will all agree.

harpsichordcarrier · 31/08/2007 08:53

zippitippitoes · 31/08/2007 08:55

MrsCarrot · 31/08/2007 08:56

I had biscuits earlier, BBBee, now I am having oats, soya yoghurt and mixed berries.

This is my problem, I eat the bad stuff and the good stuff.

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 08:56

Thank you all for being so kind, I was having a moment. Dp sent me to bed and read me Moomin stories.

I think this thread is cool, not monsterish and only slightly eating its own tail

Avi I really don't want you to stop posting. How many minutes do you spend on here per day? Surely you can save 20 mins to come and be silly with us here?

BBB I have oats, raisins, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds, with usually 3 or 4 types of fruit.

I quite like Anne of Greengages

harpsichordcarrier · 31/08/2007 08:57

thanks zippi
and franny's ds - given the pick of an extensive gift shop - chose a fairy tiara and wand
the gift shop lady was quivering until he annunced I am going to be a real fairy at which point she started to phone social services

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 08:58

Oh HC you're there

at your title

we have dd2's tractor, shall we return urgently?

I left it to you to tell the story about what ds chose in the gift shop

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 31/08/2007 08:58

oh and franny got a wand too

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 08:58

aha you saw it

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 08:58

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 08:59

I had an idea about your phone - text it and offer a reward?

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 31/08/2007 08:59

yes I feared we had left the tractor. it hasn't been missed.
I feared we had left many things to clutter up your minimalist house with tat
packets of custard creams etc
we have been watching bagpuss for three hours

zippitippitoes · 31/08/2007 09:00

that's lovely..dgs is a pink lover and he does like his lip gloss and make up

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 09:01

nope

and LOL at minimalist house. It does look pretty much like it did when you arrived, though, only with a few more wands and a smear of unwanted blueberry here and there

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 31/08/2007 09:04

he looked very sweet in full fairy regalia
I am a fairy from head to toe

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 09:06

I know, it's the curls [sigh]

I'll send the tractor at some point, rather than post haste, then

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 31/08/2007 09:12

Ds1 had blonde curly hair until he got eadlice when we were camping. His hair was so matted we had to shave it all off at the office. It grew back straight.

BBBee · 31/08/2007 09:13

am rubbish at thread titles - the anne one is rather appealing as it might enrage 100.
