For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

good to see you back Bee
Did you have a good time?

Am feeling strangely emotionless about it all
awaiting biopsy results

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:32

well being detatched must be a good thing at the momnet.

I had a fucking ball!

Am both exhausteed and energised.

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:33

when are the biopsy results due?

(ignore accordingly)

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:33

right - I feel that this needs to be addressed full on - there has been too much skirting around the issue.

We have all been aware for some time that this thread has been nice and friendly and cosy but maybe a bit too nice and friendly and cosy. If, like me, you have realised that something has been waiting to split our group it is here.

The crying chocolate.

The flower chocolate.

This issue has come to divide us - and so let it be.

I side completely and unequivocally with the flower flavoured faction.

This gives me great displeasure to go against those fine companions amongst you who have insulted this form of chocolate so deeply and irreversvably.

Yours, with deep regret.

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:35

BTW for what it's worth I am an aries.

But 'tis all a load of bollox.

(but aries always say that...)

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:37

oh has turned into my own thread - me me me.

I bumped into an ex in Edinburgh which was odd as I had children with me. I was so into him, but now he has lost one of his teeth in a fight - one of the carnivores. He is having it seen to - but even so - eurgh!

FrayedKnot · 25/08/2007 19:45

LL please post your choc beetroot cake recipe if you are not too tired
I have beetroot lurking in the fridge RIGHT NOW!

I've never been to Groombridge before but always wanted to, it's a bit of a slow journey from ours (took about an hour) but well worth it.

Do you go to Yalding Organic Gardens? I have never been which is shocking since we have lived here for 2 years now, must try & go really soon.

BBee was it Edinburgh you went to? (please say it's you who went, I'm still confused about who's doing what and where )

Where's Zippi, did she go out?

filthymindedvixen · 25/08/2007 20:02

beetroot stockpile here too!

(former-gothy type here too, hence purple on black or black on purple vote here!)

BBBeeeeeee - bosting good to see you again old bean!

LL - just (((hugs)))

I am of the 'any choclate will do but only once a month' camp

FrannyandZooey · 25/08/2007 20:09

Ack, BBB, if the chocolate affair was going to split us it would have been all over by now. You would have come back to a thread full of smoking rubble and prone bodies.

Welcome back. It seems from your posts you have, er, NOT given up the coffee

I am waiting to hear whether I can send my own t-shirt. I am currently toying with the idea of purple on purple.

Oh I did the last pub session today! Glorious. Pub session + sports session = exercise. Kind of.

I've had an apple, sweetcorn (2 lots - crikey I do like sweetcorn ), broccoli, carrots.

ahundredtimes · 25/08/2007 20:37

Goodness. I go off for a week and you all dress up in black leather and march about. You just do that waving your mooncup in the wind stuff to wind me up don't you?

Have skimmed thread - no I've skidded, skipped and skedaddled this very long thread. It's all a bit of a blur.

TooTicky · 25/08/2007 20:38

Wasn't the crying chocolate actually flowery chocolate anyway?

Franny, dp says he will try and source some pink sparkly vinyl for you if you are desperate. And yes, you can use your own shirt.

Have had...wait for it...on top of the 11 portions I had earlier....onion, garlic, tomato, mushroom, carrot, apple (prob 3 portions). And a crumble - peach, pear, apple and plum with chocolate and oat crumble topping. 2 portions so far, I think. So today's total is 16

Dd1 and I have made a momentous decision. See here for details.

Lots of love to you LL

And the meet up will be fine! Obviously we will all be terrified first...

ahundredtimes · 25/08/2007 20:43

So.

Mallorca. It rained. Really it did. A lot.

LL - this is grim news. I'm so sorry

I am a Saggitarius too Frayedknot, so fear nothing. I am here all fire sign waiting for intellectual discussion and to put my foot in it. Actually I'm also married to a Scorpio MrsC so am well versed at that, oh and all my dcs are Librans. I think I am the glue of this thread. I am what binds us together.

I also think it's all rubbish.

BB Edinburgh was good? Did it rain? Is MrsC back. Did you have a mini meet-up.

Also Boco's dd's friend. One night, late, when they were tired and it was fraught refused to take her clothes off and put her in the bath. So her mother said, madly, hysterically 'Right, if you don't take your clothes off I shall put you in with them on.' And she did. I don't think I have every done this, but I feel as though I might have.

NotReallyHerePossum · 25/08/2007 20:43

I know this has nothing to do with vegetables but I saw something rather bizarre in Kensington Gardens this afternoon. Or maybe I am getting old and it shouldn't have bothered me. Three well spoken women in mid twenties, plastered off their heads, one dropped her jeans and took a leak against a tree then hurled the by now empty bottle of Southern Comfort in LO's and my direction then staggered off. LO and I both just sat there, non-plussed. I thought that was the sort of thing mad old bag ladies did, on a bad day.
Prunes, grapes, plums, sweetcorn - so far 5, must improve on that right now. walked 6 miles today with LO in sling.

FrannyandZooey · 25/08/2007 20:47

100 welcome back. Sorry you missed the marching - we may continue next week as it was so popular

TooT this is for you

Let me think about the vinyl as I am dithering now. I don't want to make any hasty decisions.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 25/08/2007 20:48

Possum how odd. I would have been surprised and a bit upset I think.

OP posts:
TooTicky · 25/08/2007 20:48

That is quite shocking Possum.

100x, you were going to talk to me about 8yo boys... We're making progress but I really don't understand him much atm.

ahundredtimes · 25/08/2007 20:49

Was there whip cracking really? Did they march?

And yay to the finished pub job. I worried about you all week. Peering out at the warm spanish rain and playing Uno for the four hundreth time.

ahundredtimes · 25/08/2007 20:49

Oh yes TooT. I haven't read your linked thread yet, is that about ds?

NotReallyHerePossum · 25/08/2007 20:50

maybe I'm just being pompous Since I haven't drunk any alcohol at all in two and a hallf years I tend to notice its effects on others more, sort of sharpened my senses. Seemed sad, somehow, the loss of dignity and self-respect. Anyway, back to trying to eat 10/10 for today....

TooTicky · 25/08/2007 20:51

No, it's about dd1. I don't have just one challenge at a time y'know

Sorry your holiday was soggy.

FrannyandZooey · 25/08/2007 20:52

Yes sorry 100x I knew you would, and it wa fine really. Last week they took the challenging boys away, and I played with some nice dull children. This week the boys were back, but I just came over all "I am taking no shit from you" and one waltzed off very quickly and left the other one, who I think is quite musical and smart, and he stayed and concentrated and did everything beautifully and didn't muck about at all. The landlady said I was great and she would be phoning me again. Hmm.

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 25/08/2007 20:53

Oh no was strangely okay really. Good black humour. And on the two days it was sunny we went to this utterly glorious cove, with an island they could swim to and everything. Mostly was good because we all got on, and I was beginning to seriously worry that We Never Were.

Ok. Ds. Fire. (Though I am more likely to make sympathetic noises actually and say 'Oh I know' like Sybil Fawlty than actually be helpful.)

ahundredtimes · 25/08/2007 20:55

We Never Were? What's happened to me? Oh I know, I got up at 3.30 this morning to catch a plane.

See. You out-shone the horrid boys and the landlady loved you. Not sure you should go again though, unless very very strictly necessary financially.

ahundredtimes · 25/08/2007 20:57

TooT am going to read your thread now. I like to know what is happening.

TooTicky · 25/08/2007 21:00

Um. Well, the sudden growing up in some ways but still being a little boy in other ways I can understand. But the accompanying anger, unhelpfulness, rudeness, violence, winding up of siblings are all Extremely Challenging. He doesn't listen, he says "Yeah, yeah", he has run off twice (but made his way back). It's quite scary really and I don't have an authoritarian bone in my body.
