For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

digging and sex and dancing. those are my fave exercise methods.

is it too early to have a wardrobe crisis over the meet up already? I am a provincial LW with none of yer fancy clothes shops or money at my disposal. At the moment, maybe glittery t shirt and pirate wellies

TooTicky · 25/08/2007 12:30

Breakfast was fruit salad (apple, peach, pear, orange and grapes). Just about to make salad. Or I will when dd1 and ds1 have finished in the kitchen - they are making a tiny lunch for ds2's new playmobil diver

TooTicky · 25/08/2007 12:33

Oh, dp has ordered in some sparkly PURPLE vinyl. It is splendid. There wasn't any pink but this is MUCH better anyway. Will get back to you with (discounted) prices and stuff

TooTicky · 25/08/2007 15:37

Where are you all?

Have salad - lettuce, alfalfa, tomatoes, cucumber and sugar snap peas. Also plums. Brings me to 11 so far and I'm feeling so good!

Aren't we supposed to feel so comfortable with each other that it doesn't matter what we wear?

Tatties · 25/08/2007 17:38

Purple sparkly vinyl sounds excellent TT

I am also feeling nervous about the meet-up but because I am worried no-one will like me (I am constantly paranoid about this)

Now you know Franny I am not sure it is Filly actually (who likes FM), it just popped into my head but now I am doubting myself

How is ds and poo issues Avi?

filthymindedvixen · 25/08/2007 17:47

I am allergic to pink anyway . Purple is great!

failing miserably today having had bacon, eggs, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms so far..
Am having chicken with pirir piri sauce, home grown green beans (and purple beans!) and mushrooms in tomatoe sauce and couscous for dinner. Blackberries and strawberries for pud (miserable 6)
Tomorrow we are taking the van out for a bbq which will be mostly veggie and lots of fruit so will do better, I promise.

I only fret about wardrobes as, being a gemini, I have 4billion different outfits for all my moods. too much choice, see?

filthymindedvixen · 25/08/2007 17:48

Tatti, stop it! I like you, so that's one down anyway.
I am also nervous as I have a tendancy to Talk Too Much when I get over-excited. And I am very excitable. I will irritate the fuck out of you all

FrannyandZooey · 25/08/2007 17:51

Can I have a black t-shirt? Can it be a nice girly fit t-shirt? [panic] Can I send you a t-shirt that I actually like? Are we definitely all wearing these t-shirts then?

(must admit I am a wee bit disappointed about lack of pink [pout])

dh bought me flowers
& took ds to the park for an hour yesterday.....

however...was summoned to make bacon sandwiches & pots of coffee for him & assistant before they went off to wedding this morning after only 3.5hrs sleep...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

have had too much fruit today...have huge cravings..cant eat enough...large red berry salad for breakfast,watermelon,2 peaches, lychees, passion fruit, punnet of blueberries,2 pears

basil tofu salad for
lunch....butternut squash & lentil curry with brown rice for supper

will email you about meet franny..but think i may only be able to come for a few hrs

Tatties · 25/08/2007 18:54

Oh LL.. well at least he is trying? Have to say though there would be much slamming of cupboard doors if I was summoned to make coffee and bacon butties (especially after only 3.5 hours sleep...) Your food sounds delicious as usual It would be good to see you at the meet-up even if you only manage a couple of hours, I'm sure it would do you good.

Bless you FMV I don't think you talked too much when we met, and you certainly weren't irritating. You have a wonderful energy about you

I really like the idea of sparkly purple on black, purple is much more me.

I am feeling a bit troubled as I have lost my ring

FrannyandZooey · 25/08/2007 19:00

Oh lord LL, I don't know what to say I am very jealous of your fruit banquet

Tatties what ring? A special one?

Fuchsia pink on black would have looked so cool. We will look like a bunch of goths now

OP posts:
BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:08

bunch of goths?

bring it on!

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:13

am going to chat up on this epic thread.

FrayedKnot · 25/08/2007 19:13

Porridge with sultanas
A carrot
An apple
Spinach & Roasted cherry toms with rice & feta cheese
Bowl of Strawbs & Mango
Better than yesterday, anyway

Today we have been here

www.groombridge.co.uk/

And walked a good deal so I am not going to do any more exercise today

It was lovely actually and not too busy, considering the BH weekend.

I used tgo be a goth once upon a time so purple on black quite appeals to me

LL if I had only had 3.5 hours sleep and someone asked me to do that I would have fried them for breakfast! Hope you are taking it easy tonight

Lullabyloo · 25/08/2007 19:17

FK.......you were very near me today....we love it there & go often
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you're back!

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:17

oh god LL!

Thanks so much for keeping us posted - I don't know what to say. It seems that the consultant is optomistic and the support you need at the moment is very much emotional - whatever kind of person you are. Would you go and see a counsellor? IT might help you work things through - I can't imagine how your head must be feeling now.

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:18

okay - god am slowly catching up.

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:19

(if blaspheming offneds apologies)

Lullabyloo · 25/08/2007 19:19

am taking it easy as supper is prepared,dh is working till late, mother in laws b'day present was purchased this morning,& her chocolate beetroot cake is sitting on the cake stand winking at me & waiting to be iced.

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:21

LL - how are you feeling this evening?

My mum had an episode of breast cancer and she too spoke of this feeling of being totally out of control of something inside you. I hope you have as much success as she had and things could be benign.

When are your next tests etc?

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:22

oooh - choclate and beetroot cake????

BBBee · 25/08/2007 19:24

there are people who read and don't post?

how come they do not burst with the desire to contribute?

hello lurkers!

(surely buggering about on youtube is more fun the eavesdroppng?)
