For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

LOLOL I didn't meet Tatties in 1999, me and dp met in 1999, and co-incidentally, Tatties and Mr. Tatties met on the same day. Or copped off on the same day. Or something. They were not in the same place as us, anyway. I don't think. If they were, I didn't notice them.

LOL also at all the bootophobes. This is my ideal outfit: daft girly skirt and BIG FUCK OFF BOOTS. I have not had the BFOB component of the outfit sorted to my satisfaction for quite some time, so I have falled hook line and sinker for these. God I love Autumn. Jumpers, thick woolly tights, hats and scarves and BFOB.

Am being summoned for kisses at bedtime. Will return.

LOL at "falled"

they were £30 off you know, I just want to point that out

I really should not be buying them anyway [aargh]

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2007 19:36

No way! £30 off is such a bargainous bargain it would be churlish not to buy them!

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2007 19:37

So. Is anyone a trucker named Dave? Or Derek?

FrayedKnot · 24/08/2007 19:41

Sultanas
Apple
Salad (toms, leaves, cucumber)
Vegetable Curry

God I am sh*te at this this week! And no proper exercise since Tuesday.

Thank god it's the weekend - due to having to get up early for work etc I tend to get really disorganized about food towards the end of the week and start grabbing stuff because it's there and I'm hungry.

Am hoping for plenty of fresh air this weekend and will take fruit out with me at all times!

BTW I am not a LW but have tendencies.

I will shock you all if I come to the meet-up with some of my non-lentilly ways

Although we did paint DS bedroom with Ecos paints...we used Dulux in the hall [sshhh]

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2007 20:17

F&V: Breakfast 4, Lunch 3.5, half a banana .5, cabbage 1, carrots 1, parsnips .5, onion .5
Total: 11 portions and 40 mins exercise! Yay!

FrannyandZooey · 24/08/2007 21:09

PSW yay!

I have had brown lentils, puy lentils, leeks, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, sweetcorn

then blueberries and grapes again

plus juice of one extremely sour lemon [shudder] in WARM water as per advice MrsC

am going to email everyone with meet up date plus further instructions on Sunday or Monday so please look out for it if you are around

I have been called a weaver of lentils, yes I will be stomping lentils in my new BFOB

Avi I know, I recognised them. I am still wistful for a beautiful white Farrow and Ball wall to admire them on

Zippi I will second what Avi said about drinking [boring but right]

FK you will probably get more lentilly by osmosis if you spend time on here. We have nearly persuaded 100 to get a Mooncup

LOL the baskets

HC calls it "bark-sucking" as in "are you doing your bark-sucking class again today?"

God ds has only just gone to sleep

Franny you are freaking me out now, I woke up this morning thinking of boots (not the ones you linked to, granted, but boots nevertheless) I want new ones, black with a little heel maybe.

My brain is all muddled so I can't tell you about f&v or exercise. Ooh I had a nightmare about peas the other night, it was horrible.

And Fleetwood Mac, isn't that Filly? I'm sure I recall a conversation on here where Stevie Nicks was mentioned???

TooTicky · 24/08/2007 23:05

I used to be a BFOB person....

Right, in total, apple, pear, plums, peach. Carrots, peas and onions from garden
That's only 7, isn't it? Oh, and dried apricot, dates and raisins, probably 1 portion in total. So 8. And some digging. Is that exercise?

FrayedKnot · 24/08/2007 23:17

I love BFOBs

I can;t tell you all what my dream last night was about - suffice to say nothing to do with peas or any otehr type of veg

Thanks for the info Franny I am thinking

womblingalong · 25/08/2007 01:19

FrannyandZooey · 25/08/2007 09:06

Wombling I hope dd has a lovely time and that you got some sleep in the end

TooT digging is indeed exercise, bloody good exercise too

Tatties, thanks for the Fleetwood Mac tipoff (I can't believe it was Filly, but will ask her

Have eaten a WHOLE MANGO WHICH WAS RIPE hallefuckinglujah. I did not share. Plus an apple, raisins. (4)

The boots, the boots. They are sitting looking at me enticingly. They are begging me to wear them, in fact. It would be cruel to deny them.

I also love girly skirts with big boots. You HAVE to keep the boots if they're in the sale.
