For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

F&Z I can come on either date so Count Me IN!! And I don't work Mondays woo-hoo so it suits me beautifully! Will email as soon as I can.

I am desperately short of RL lentil-weavery pals (I seem to attract sensible Susans who are lovely and very good friends but just don't GEt huge parts of my life IFKWIM.

MrsCarrot · 24/08/2007 10:28

are we lentil weavers then?

filthymindedvixen · 24/08/2007 10:31

wel it's not compulsory, but we did have quite a high proportion of LW on here. I weave in a lentilly stylee myself...

TooTicky · 24/08/2007 11:05

I have a quiet ambition to actually discover a way of weaving lentil fibres. It may well be possible. I have seen nettle scarves...

FrannyandZooey · 24/08/2007 12:04

Well done everyone (sorry to not congratulate you individually but am in hurry )

Dp and I and Tatties and Mr Tatties (who is quite a dish btw ) all met on Nov 5th 1999. Another friend of mine also got together with her dh that day - obviously was quite a night

Have eaten a bit of celery and tomato. (1)

Oh dear I ordered these just to see what they would look like on. And I think I am going to have to keep them. Yikes.

i have had a major row with my cow neighbour as she is trying to interfere with my building work..we have history over her building work which had me really depressed and she is such a bitch i have a splitting headache and can't go anywhere to get fruit or exercise because of my builders (who literally stood in the middle while we rowed)

and i have had a misery thread about being all alone for the weekend too

TooTicky · 24/08/2007 12:12

Oh Zippi you need a nice bracing holiday by the sea or in the mountains or something. Shitty neighbours are awful, aren't they? We're v. lucky where we are now.

Franny, I could never wear those. My ankles get claustrophobic. It's a real wrench to wear anything more than sandals. Mind you, my dear paternal grandmother went barefoot for years.

TooTicky · 24/08/2007 12:16

I am still waiting for dp's second delivery
And when he comes home he'll probably go straight to bed so I'll STILL be waiting. I daren't even wash up in case I don't hear the door. House is a tip. Want to be in garden.

FrannyandZooey · 24/08/2007 12:17

I hate that can't do anything business..that's how i feel..I am plucking up courage to go back out and find out what the builders plans are for the weekend and monday

TooTicky · 24/08/2007 12:20

Is it a long term job Zippi? Builders would drive me insane. But then, I'm strangely unsociable

MrsCarrot · 24/08/2007 12:53

My, those are fine boots, Franny.

zippitippitoes · 24/08/2007 12:55

yes and a darn site longer than it should have been thanks to me and dp being so crap at running it and our inability to get anybody to do anything

spoke to them and he was airy fairy about whether they might be here tomorrow or monday..becuase i don't want them here they probably will be...I was going to try and do something myself before this house drives me insane

have asked dd2 if she will go out with me this evening if she can get a babysitter...I feel like getting extremely drunk

i haven't had a drink since last november but been sorely tempted this week

funky boots franny!

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2007 15:22

Hope the gym makes you feel better zippi, blow away the cobwebs! I can't exercise if I'm sad or angry! I just sit there on the rowing machine (or whatever) and feel all dispondent and 'what's the point'. I wish it would make me feel better!

Love the boots Franny.

TooT, does the layout of your house/garden make it possible to put a note on the door for the delivery person to come round to the garden?

Lunch - salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, spring onion) (2.5) Mango (1)

I spoke to dh about the meet up last night. He is worried that you're all hairy-arsed truckers called Dave or 50 year old men who still live with thier mum.

You aren't are you? I will discuss it with him further

pinkspottywellies · 24/08/2007 16:35

Phew! Just done 40 mins of Barbara Currie's Power Packed Yoga DVD! Energy and balance sections. I feel great (if a little sweaty!) [wrinkled nose emoticon]

whompingwillowinthedewmeadow · 24/08/2007 17:15

well done pink spot! All my 3 DC were sleeping and I thought about yogalates but did mumsnet and ironing instead.

lunch - carrot soup with salad wrap, plus and apple. Im on 6 so far with no real exercise as yet. Went blackberry picking up the lane and in teh field with the bairns and so leisurely strolled for an hour with DD in baby carrier.

I want funky boots!

TooTicky · 24/08/2007 17:23

PSW, I don't think most delivery drivers would bother. The houses are terraced so they'd have to go right round the end and then it's not quite clear to the untrained eye which garden belongs to which house.

Pear, plums, peach.

This morning put me in a bad mood and I'm not quite sure how to climb out

whompingwillowinthedewmeadow · 24/08/2007 18:39

singing is good for your soul - you could try that!

new potatoes from our veg patch, with lettuce, tomatoes, pepper, ca\rrot, beetroot

filthymindedvixen · 24/08/2007 19:02

fuckme! Those boots are gorgeous

How did you and Tatties meet in 1999 ?

Today I have had yet more plums...bananas, blackberries (a tonne of) and a tuna salad with home grown lettuce, beans tomatoes and potatoes. Supper is mexican feast with home-made guacamole, chicken in chilli and tomato sauce topped with nachos, cheese and sour cream, and more salad.

I cannot cope with reality. I want to be back in festival world

filthymindedvixen · 24/08/2007 19:04

ps. Meant to wave gaily at everyone, proffering hugs or blackberry fool as appropriate. But Franny's boots distracted me..
