For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Blimey Boco, your children are stunning!

I have had criminal quantities of fruit and veg today, because I am a) trying to diet, but trying to diet sensibly instead of crash-dieting this time, and b) have had another gruelling appt with the damn family therapist today and have been comfort-gorging on apples, oranges, strawberries, carrots etc. And a banana for breakfast, and a load of blackberries and a cuople of plums at the allotment just now, and will shortly behaving more of that curry I made the other day with the 12 vegetables in it. And some grapefruit juice.

God I have had a shit day. Aaaaarrrrghh.

(I am planning to come to the meet-up by the way, and so is my jewellery)

FrayedKnot · 23/08/2007 20:57

I'm sagittarius which is why I don't post as much as I might because I have spent a lifetime putting my foot in my mouth

I feel a bit out of place here now

pinkspottywellies · 23/08/2007 21:01

I'm Gemini but don't know if I'm typical. I'll go and look it up and then come back

MrsCarrot · 23/08/2007 21:02

well, I'm scorpio so we're neighbours! Everyone else seems to be air/earth signs don't they.
Why have you put your hoof in your mouth?

pinkspottywellies · 23/08/2007 21:04

I'm Gemini as well, Gemini sun and moon and rising, which is unusual apparently

MrsCarrot · 23/08/2007 21:10

don't thinnk I'm supposed to get on with anyone on this thread, maybe I shouldn't come to the meet up after all

zippitippitoes · 23/08/2007 21:11

kitchen looks lovely

I did my walk and quite enjoyed it

enquired about a job as trainee cocktail bar tender in a lovely bar in warwick for ds who comes back from hongkomng next week

have had a chat with virtual friend on msn (he is my only friend on msn lol)and I think i am going to have to make up a social life to pretend to have as reading a book probably sounds a bit dull after the first time

MrsCarrot · 23/08/2007 21:11

of course, what I mean is, that is what I would be saying IF I believed in any of it...

FrayedKnot · 23/08/2007 21:15

sagittarians are supposed to be sporty

I am not, as will be noted by my lack of exercise this week

I always think I am putting my foot in it MrsC

Avi the kitchen is stupendous

can I just ask where the meetup is going to be

MrsCarrot · 23/08/2007 21:16

London.

Only bad things are written about scorpios. Of course I am none of them.

zippitippitoes · 23/08/2007 21:18

Thanks for the e-mails Franny. Might make it into a Christmas shopping weekend but I'm going to need to word it carefully to dh who laughs at my "friends on mumsnet"

FrannyandZooey · 23/08/2007 21:26

I have sent emails where they are meant to go, I think

Greeny are you free both dates for the meet up? Because as the one 10 / 10 er who has actually met me and is still talking to me, it is kind of vital to me that you are there

Sorry to hear your day was so gruelling. I can only imagine how hard the family therapy must be. But what a fantastic opportunity for you all. My friend is a family therapist and she says it is so disheartening because there are so many families who would like help and they are so underfunded. I really hope it helps even though it is so difficult for you.

Avi can I come and live in your house? [wistful]

The dragon fruit looks amazing. In what way is it disappointing? What does it taste like?

Boco - not like Librans??? How can you not like Librans? I am the quintessential Libran (not that I believe in it ) Look, here I am:

LIBRA

Diplomatic and urbane
Romantic and charming
Easygoing and sociable
Idealistic and peaceable

On the dark side....

Indecisive and changeable
Flirtatious and self-indulgent

Dragon fruit is disappointing because it doesn't taste of anything! It's kind of smooth I seem to remember.

FrannyandZooey · 23/08/2007 21:30

No How can it be so nice and pink and taste of nothing?

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 23/08/2007 21:31

I lurked for months before I joined. I can't remember how I found MN but it took me ages to join as I couldn't think of a name
Libra sounds nice The first thing people think of for Gemini is two faced and that's not me at all

pinkspottywellies · 23/08/2007 21:32

I know. It's very distressing if you buy one to try, it's all beautiful and pink and spiky, you cut it open and it's black and white and spotty and exciting and still beautiful and then you eat it and.......... nothing

FrannyandZooey · 23/08/2007 21:38

[speechless]
