FAB TITLE BY FMF (AND BBB)

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No don't get the ACampbell thing at all. No. BBBee is right, he's a freaking pervert.

FZ i didn't know you didn't like the job - that's sad.

ahundredtimes · 17/08/2007 23:42

Oh god Franny, that's grim. The SAME children turn up? How can we get you through this?

Mrs C - I also only read Cloud Atlas. I thought I'd give him another go. Here's what I thought - brilliant, indeed gifted writer, not such a great story-teller.

MrsCarrot · 17/08/2007 23:43

Just had to check that Boco wasn't married to David Mitchell before saying I didn't really like Cloud Atlas. I may have liked it at a different time.

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2007 23:44

It was just about ok for the first 2 weeks and then it just got awful

I am gritting my teeth - oh god, only another 2 weeks

yes it is the same children every week and they do NOT co-operate. Not my age group anyway, I do under 5s. God.

I think he's a bit too clever - he's amazing, he can do anything, all the tricks, all the different voices, but it's a bit dazzling and kind of technically competent to be a really good story.

Which is what 100 already said.

ahundredtimes · 17/08/2007 23:44

OK.

We need a strategy to get you through the bum job. How long does each session last?

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2007 23:45

An hour.

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 17/08/2007 23:46

And there are two more hours to go?

How old the children?

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2007 23:47

I know an hour sounds like nothing but it is ruddy endless when I am singing and stuff and they are throwing my instruments around and hitting each other. I send them off to "sit the next one out until you can calm down a bit" and the arsing grandmother gives me daggers and sends them back

ffs

BBBee · 17/08/2007 23:47

oh ogd can't you just not go - invent an excuse - or are you not like that?

Tatties · 17/08/2007 23:47

Could you explain it's not what you expected?

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2007 23:47

erm 3, 6 and 7

it's awful

I finished early last time and just put all my stuff away

I just couldn't do it, they were attacking each other with my equipment

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 17/08/2007 23:48

Believe me, an hour of entertaining children sounds like an eternity to me.

Take music. Get them to dance for a bit? Have a dancing competition? Humiliate them, slowly.

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2007 23:48

No I need the money

we have spent it

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 17/08/2007 23:49

Yes go, but let's put the emphasis on them a bit. Treasure hunt around the beer garden?

BBBee · 17/08/2007 23:49

no equipment

activity games

things where they have to accumilate points so they keep on task

oh ogd - am crap at this!

that is why I would do the excuse and hide thing.

MrsCarrot · 17/08/2007 23:49

That's just what I thought! It was too clever for the book, struggling to keep the ideas in the story, or the story struggled to keep them in it, I was thinking too much about the thought behind the story to get into it. It was very theory led? God its obvious why I'm not a critic or reviewer.

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2007 23:50

yes I have music and they dance. They are usually ok for the first 15 mins and then it just deteriorates. God I must stop whinging and get to bed and just get up and do it and get it over with. Sorry chaps, you have been very kind. I have got a nice hour of sports with 2 year olds first which is very pleasant and fun and enjoyable. I will just think about that instead of the hour of Doom.

MrsCarrot · 17/08/2007 23:51

Sorry, we have moved on, and good job. I sounded like a complete thicko in that last post.

Franny - your predicament fills me with horror. I would go tomorrow and develop an illness next week.

BBBee · 17/08/2007 23:51

am sorry it is crappy F&Z - after this only one more to go - the end is in sight.

ahundredtimes · 17/08/2007 23:51

(oh I didn't think it was that cynical MrsC. Just 'Wow, look at what I can do' and you think, god yes, you ARE good at that, and then after a bit you want to tap him on the shoulder and say 'but the story David, the story remember that?' I'm not knocking him though, it's a darn difficult thing to do. . . )

TooTicky · 17/08/2007 23:52

PLEASE can't you all just stop talking while I catch up? I dunno, I go out for the day and you all get verbal diahorrhea!

BBBee · 17/08/2007 23:52

no you didn't MrsC - there seem to be about 4 conversations going on at once tonight.

ahundredtimes · 17/08/2007 23:53

OK. Off to bed Franny, and then the wretched children.

Treasure Hunt.

No equipment.

Stuck in the Mud.

That kind of thing?
