Done.

sauce · 10/08/2007 13:32

This is very sicko, paranoid & cowardly of me but I'm afraid someone might kill me to harvest my organs if I were to register.

diplodocus · 10/08/2007 13:42

Done!

moondog · 10/08/2007 13:43

Like who Sauce?

OP posts:
Zazette · 10/08/2007 13:45

Do you have an anxiety disorder Sauce? are you getting any kind of medical/counselling type help? Completely irrational beliefs that certain actions might endanger you can be a sign of underlying mental health issues, perhaps you should go and see your dr if you're not already under their care? Good luck with getting it sorted out.

Iklboo · 10/08/2007 13:49

BUt sauce, they don't get paid for your organs and there'd be the question of you being a tissue match with someone. There'd be no point bumping you off for your organs...and there'd be the storage/viability issue......

Iklboo · 10/08/2007 13:51

I've been on the organ donation register since I was 18 - and the bone marrow one too. It's one of the things I'm most zealous about. I've told DH, my parents, everyone to tell the doctors they could take absolutely anything of use they wanted. I wouldn't be needing them any more

sauce · 10/08/2007 13:53

Zazette, of course I have an anxiety disorder! Thank you for your concern. I am being treated for that and for chronic depression.

Being aware of my "shortcomings" doesn't lessen my fears, unfortunately.

sauce · 10/08/2007 13:54

I do give blood, though!

moondog · 10/08/2007 13:55

V good sauce.
Bravo

Thanks, moondog. I knew you'd be proud of me.

moondog · 10/08/2007 13:57

I was too scared to for years and when I plucked up courage to go and do it they turned my away until something like 2023 becasue i spent most of my childhood inthe Tropics.

Ah well.thought was there.

Iklboo · 10/08/2007 13:58

That's good to hear sauce. You're definitely making a very vital contribution. Wish I could give blood again but they won't take it cos I'm on sodding beta-blockers for hbp

sauce · 10/08/2007 14:04

I don't actually believe that someone would murder me for my organs (please excuse my peculiar sense of humour which sometimes doesn't translate too well online!) but it has crossed my mind. Is there an age limit? Would it be worth the trouble & expense to transplant the heart of a 44 yr old or the liver of someone who is a bit too partial to wine, for example?

tegan · 10/08/2007 14:20

I have put my details on the donation site but dh can't because he is diabetic and has numerous other complications due to being diabetic.

moondog · 10/08/2007 19:20

C'mon,nearly up to 100.
