In light of the fact that Misdee's Peter may get a new heart tonight, why not sign up as a donor here? It will take two minutes.Remember, next time it might be someone you love who needs one.

My hubby & I are both already on the register, my family all know about it and respect my wishes. As for my boys, I will not be adding them to the register. If anything, god forbid, should happen to them, we would donate their organs, but I won't add them to the register until they are old enough to make that choice for themselves (it may very well be an opt out system by then).

DH & I are already registered, but we have discussed it & decided to register the dd's too.

Take a look here. My brother had a kidney transplant just the other day. It took several years of dialysis before his day came but it is looking so good. I really hope that the same thing happens for her husband. Those of you who are signing up or have signed up, may one day be saving someones life.

thank you

wheresthehamster · 10/08/2007 09:09

Have always carried a card but have signed up here.

I wish it was an opt-out system though instead of an opt-in.

hippipotami · 10/08/2007 09:15

dh and I have been on for ages. And the bonemarrow register, and we give blood every 4 months.

Is there a chance Peter may get a new heart tonight? Have you heard anything? Will keep everything crossed for them!

hippipotami · 10/08/2007 09:16

hamster - was there not talk of it becoming an opt-out system? I am sure my befuddled brain picked something up on the news not long ago.

I hope it does become opt-out.

vinhotinto · 10/08/2007 09:16

hippipotami · 10/08/2007 09:20

ah, just found the other thread. What a shame it did not go ahead.

I hope another heart is found soon, in the meantime, please ensure as many people as you know are signed up.
