For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

tghoughyes, we never went back because it was so weather dependant and we felt after the glorious weather we had we didb't want to push out luck a 2nd time. We go back to that area though now as we fell in love with it. Trebarwith

Had roast dinner at pub - middling - lots of veg but very processed - was ok though and nice company, the children had a good time etc

just had salad: lettuce, cucumber, carrot, beetroot, hummus.

Am really tired off yesterday! My legs are aching.

now feel very thirsty and yuk and thinking whether to go on the 6 mile perambulation or just slob the evening away on my bed ...hmm

zippit · 05/08/2007 18:53

don't know where the hi came from have been idly emailing people!

pinkspottywellies · 05/08/2007 18:55

Really bad again. Rice crispies for breakfast so no raisins and I'm shocked at the amount of salt in rice crispies! Had Goulash for lunch - dh suggested we eat something Hungarian whilst watching the Grand Prix! Was very nice and something new for my repetoire but just onions and peppers f&v wise. Is there real strawberry juice in fab lollies? If so, then I've had strawberry juice. Finally, some cucumber in my sandwich and half a (fairly big) tomato.
I pledge to have an apple and some orange juice tonight, at the least.
Had a lovely half hour in the paddling pool with dd this afternoon! Did you have a nice day at the beach MrsC? Did you go to Cromer for a crab?

pinkspottywellies · 05/08/2007 19:01

By the way - I'm really shattered and want to go to bed early. If I'm on here after 9 o'clock will you please shout at me and send me to bed!

Hello, Sundays are easier in some ways, with a roast dinner, little trees, carrots, peas, parsnips ....

also had apples, cuc, banana and am looking longingly at a basket of nectarines which just will not ripen.

DollyPopsOut · 05/08/2007 20:50

I am so vegetabled - breakfast was necatrne x2, raspberries, blueberries, lunch was carrots and tomato / onion salsa and dinner will be about 5 different vegetables in my salad! Am SOOOOOOOOO glad I found this thread!

Had a wonderful day in the sunshine - DD in the paddling pool, other DD2 feeding massively, DH reading harry P and really chilling. He has been so stressed at work that it is nice he gets some time just to mess around. We were going to a BBQ (workish for DH) in town but happily no trains in or out are running today so we couldn#'t get there! And I have made banana bread for DH tomorrow - how wifely am i?

PSW - only 10 mins! One more story adn that's your lot - can you tell this is a regular occurrence in our house?

lionheart · 05/08/2007 20:57

PSW if you think that was scary you should have seen what the boot camp was like.

FrannyandZooey · 05/08/2007 20:58

PSW - 8 mins to go - I hope you have your pyjamas on and are brushing your teeth. Have you been to the toilet?

Lionheart our nectarines suddenly went - baboom - so I recommend getting up in the middle of the night to check on them.

PSW woohoo
