For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ah I know what 'a' is now. No I don't mind people saying arachnid or spider, but in titles like the examples below it is disoncerting. Hence the substition of loofah. Much nicer all round

They are mocking me about clowns on another thread and following me round the board making taunts. I am a poor misunderstood and tormented soul you know.

Tatties · 04/08/2007 22:42

God no I don't mind, it was you who introduced me to the wonder of Rocket Dogs anyway

Avi I logged in but couldn't see the pics. (My hat pic is here - voila!)

lionheart · 04/08/2007 22:42

Clowns are freaky. Wasn't there a US serial killer who was also a clown?

Tatties · 04/08/2007 22:44

Franny I do understand about things being in thread titles (there's one thing in particular I don't like to see but appears pretty frequently) - you can't avoid it can you and by the time you've seen it it's already had the undesired effect

lionheart · 04/08/2007 22:44

Forget I said that. There was and he was unspeakable.

FrannyandZooey · 04/08/2007 22:46

clowns are following me everywhere

Avi just a thought, but if you didn't mind posting the link to your photos here for everyone to see, could you not just post them on your profile anyway?

Super hat.

I once got locked in a theatre for the best part of a long cold night because of a spider.

Lionheart how? [appalled]

Moving swiftly on...

The gym was good thank you! I did 10 mins on the cross trainer (only done 5 mins so far ) then a 15 min swim. I am building up gently

Tatties · 04/08/2007 22:51

Noir is good

FrannyandZooey · 04/08/2007 22:52

Oh that sounds great Tatties. I am rubbish at doing the cardio stuff, if I do 25 mins it is an astonishingly good day. I prefer the weights because I can see the progress both on paper and physically.

How!

Tatties · 04/08/2007 22:59

You know I am not too worried about seeing results; but I am really liking the way I feel after I've raised my heart rate for a while. I like the energetic, positive, less-headachey me after I've been to the gym. I really noticed a difference in my stomach muscles when I did Pilates, but it didn't make me feel as good.

Tatties · 04/08/2007 22:59

Hi MrsC! Good holiday?

BBBee · 04/08/2007 23:00

yes I did used to be dt (celulite on upper leg) woman in playground is now leaving me alone, but did once say "I have been searching for your posts on that site and you don't go there anymore do you?"

Shame as I started life as FatThighs and the first conversation I remember was with franny and hence DT was born - but alas no more.

so we are talking about mightnight sieges in theatres with spiders.. mmm.. not very fruit and veg.

Oh slow worm was wonderful (and slow!) and hiding under a sheet oof corrugated iron so only saw him if you wanted to. He was lovely.

FrannyandZooey · 04/08/2007 23:00

MrsC! We missed you!

I was a student, living in condemned housing. The toilet was a lean-to at the back and it also housed a huge, mutant looking spider.

One night the lights went out and I could not bring myself to manage the dark, the pee, the torch and the spider so I nipped across the road to the theatre.

It then turned all twilight zone because when I went in the foyer was bustling but three minutes later (when I came back out) everyone had gone.

The box-office was closed, lights were out and the doors locked.

Cue panic, arm waving, trying the security phones (not working) and general hyperventilating.

Eventually, when it got very cold indeed I managed to balance a table, two chairs (the arty kind) and large bench, reached a little window and squeezed through.

I was terrified because I thought it would all be alarmed and as soon as I opened the window all hell would be let loose.

Legged it.

All this because of a spider.

I do wonder what happened in the morning when the escape route was discovered.

MrsCarrot · 04/08/2007 23:03

OH everyone has gone to bed now? I am home, 400 or so miles with a groaning car and 3 (albeit well behaved) children later and we are VERY tired, a little drunk and trying to say nice things to the washing machine. I have missed 10/10, although it was refreshng to have no lap top/phones etc.
