For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I have to go to bed. Will put pics up again tomorrow if you're about

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 08:12

LOL at birthday table. Do we get to see one of you please BBB?

Tatties I start on Saturday It is only for 5 weeks. Bit scary though.

Avi no I am sorry . I realised how much of what I say is indecipherable crap. Holiday apartment sounds very brave!

I am eating plums, red grapes, raisins and blueberries. It looks very pretty.

BBBBasilisk · 25/07/2007 09:09

so if you are - where are you all going away?

We are off camping in Norfolk which was a good idea at the time and now seems like a total nightmare with vision of our tent floating off over the Norfolk broads. DP not a great camper so will just be me and the DCs. Also am off to germany for a couple of days - 100x is going there first to report back. Then we are off to the Edinburgh Festival.

The weather is going to get better isn't it?

I need to go f&v shopping - had pancakes with lemon and sugar for breakfast but planning big beanfeast and salad for supper so hoping to make up lost ground then.

Am only really on this thread a tthe moment - how is the rest of mumsnet? Anything exciting happening out there?

BBBBasilisk · 25/07/2007 09:10

Fran - photos of me are scary - I look a bit like meatloaf (bat out of hell kind not pressed mince kind)

Pics on again for a wee bit.

Nectarine, cucumber and slightly elderly carrot for breakfast.

Holiday apartment? Wow!

MrsCarrot · 25/07/2007 09:23

Where in Norfolk are you camping, BBB? There are some lovely places round the broads, we had a picnic at a fort Sunday evening, it was lovely, looking down on the water and windmills and boats etc, got eaten by midges though, they are bad this year.

raspberry porridge with ENORMOUS raspberries, I love summer fruits. It will be interesting to read what poeple have here in the winter. Swede, cabbage and more cabbage?

TooTicky · 25/07/2007 09:26

LL, if you're about, I have emailed you I do sometimes get stuck in spam folders though, so thought I'd let you know just in case.

MrsCarrot · 25/07/2007 09:29

are your children close in age, Toot? I was thinking that four sounds nice. Only if I could garuntee they'd be as easy and wonderful as LO, but you never can tell.

MrsCarrot · 25/07/2007 09:30

DD is a beautiful creative sensitive soul, but boy is she harder work than all the others put together bless her, our relationship is ver intense!

BBBBasilisk · 25/07/2007 09:45

Oh mrs C I have one of those sensitive intense ones but in male form (my son is 7) - our relationship is rather charged but lots of fun! We are comping near Sherringham - didn't think about midges though. I do love norfolk - not many connections with it and takes ages to get there but we always have a ball.

TT - I have seen you now and your lovely clan - wow you must be busy. Was there a question about your hair or something further down the thread? You look a bit like one of my friends who I adore who is wonderful and creative so for no reason at all I have projected those traits onto you and you shuldn't change a thing!

BBBBasilisk · 25/07/2007 09:47

if I go on to mumsnet active convos will I find out the end of harry potter by mistake?

Lullabyloo · 25/07/2007 09:49

Toot....have mailed you back
Hair is lovely.....facially you are very similar to how I pictured you......but thought you would be fair for some reason

had warm pear,peaches,apricots & apple
& an avocado & lime smoothie

MrsCarrot · 25/07/2007 10:36

I think of your warm pear, LL, when I'm whizzing it up for LO, it's very soothing isn't it.

BBB - Sheringham is where the fairy fair was the other day, DH took them though. I like it there, my mum often camps nearby at West Runton. I must buy some citronella today, we are off to cornwall on Saturday and there is a lake on the camp so there are bound to be millions of them.

Any tips anyone, apart from citronella? Thinking of getting some of those coils, DH had such a bad bite the other day he went to the doctors, it had a puncture wound and a massive bruise round it and he felt very odd. There have been loads of these around apparently.

TooTicky · 25/07/2007 10:41

MrsC, the dcs are 10, 8, 5 and 2. The older two seem harder work emotionally, not sure if this is just because they are older. Dd1 has been threatening adolescence for some time now and ds1 is brewing testosterone, I think.

BBB, at you projecting your friend's traits onto me. That's the sort of thing I do. And say extra warm and friendly helloes to people who look like people I know.

BBBBasilisk · 25/07/2007 10:44

MrsC - we camped at the isle of mull last year and were told that the midges were a nightmare - after much research I found that this is the best stuff - even though not marketed as an insect repellant. Is good though as not overly chemically. IN the Isle of Mull someone told me it is what the police use and carry round with them and all the locals use it. We didn;t get bitten once.

LL all your food always sounds so wonderful. Am planning on doing a tricolore salad but using tofu marinated in basil instead of mozzarella.

Am cooking this wonderful Georgian kidney bean dish tonight.

TooTicky · 25/07/2007 10:44

LL, we need a pic of you. I am still seeing you barely 20, blue eyes, floaty blonde hair and a delicate lisp.

MrsC, wave towards Wiltshire as you pass

Lullabyloo · 25/07/2007 11:21

Rofl tee hee chortle........
How about 35.....long dark hair....brown eyes....no lisp

sorry to shatter your illusions

TooTicky · 25/07/2007 11:26

Just looked at your profile. Your ds is delightful but we need one of you too. I've been brave...

TooTicky · 25/07/2007 11:27

Have replied btw.

Filchymindedvixen · 25/07/2007 11:50

toot you are exactly as i pictured you! And I love the look of your brood

TooTicky · 25/07/2007 11:57

Thanks

Lullabyloo · 25/07/2007 12:38

Toot....I used to have one on there....then got uncomfortable
Apparantly I look like Anna Friel.....rofl

Dh bought me a mac for my birthday & I have absolutely no idea how to upload/store images anymore
I miss my laptop.....it died a horrible death

Lullabyloo · 25/07/2007 15:08

franny just made a trial sample of your dukkah...oooooh it's
delicious

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 17:37

BBB I dunno what else is happening out there. Anything exciting? I doubt it If you look like Meatloaf then we really really MUST have pictures of you, please. We could have a celebrity lookalike contest and you would win. Unless I storm through with my rendition of G Mc Keith Or lullaby looking like Anna Friel!

Avi I wouldn't bother your head about the slash den thing. Really.

MrsC in the winter I tend to have apples and pears for weeks on end then go crazy in the supermarket and buy every exotic fruit known to man

Lullaby so glad you liked the dukkah. It sounds so uninspiring but is SO delicious especially with really good olive oil and some slightly warm bread
