For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TooT I want to see your hair too!

lionheart · 23/07/2007 21:16

I am. Have you had a gym induction and all that, Tatties?

I love brownies, freshly baked, with a sprinkling of almonds.

Tatties · 23/07/2007 21:22

Hooray Lionheart! Yes I had a quick intro to all the machines. Just been to classes so far though. Brownies do sound nice. I did some baking today too.

lionheart · 23/07/2007 21:25

Wish I was organsied/energetic enough to sign up.

lionheart · 23/07/2007 21:25

*organised, even.

Tatties · 23/07/2007 21:33

You know it is not something I thought I would ever do. But I was in the right frame of mind for it and seized the moment. Now I've paid for it I'm bloody well going to get my money's worth AND enjoy it!

lionheart · 23/07/2007 21:35

Paying for it should be incentive enough, it's true.

FrannyandZooey · 23/07/2007 21:37

oh HOORAH Tatties

I bet you will love it. It's just a question of finding the bits that you like doing, I think. And then, erm, doing them.

lionheart · 23/07/2007 21:51

Franny, if you're done with Harry I can send you The Last Child in the Woods, which I've almost finished (just let me have your address).

lionheart · 23/07/2007 21:54

Not the last actual child because that would be wrong and besides which he wouldn't fit into a treasure basket.

FrannyandZooey · 23/07/2007 22:13

oooooooooooooh yes please

oh it's that one about being close to nature isn't it? Oh YES YES please

TooTicky · 23/07/2007 22:35

No pic of me yet (I'll get ds2 to take one of me tomorrow. Maybe.) but on my profile, for a limited time only, my little tribe of warrior celts and dd2 the naked chef hard at work.

Carrot, apple, peas, cabbage, tomato, cucumber. Dd2 made fantastic flapjackesque thingummy with apple and dried apricots in.

MrsCarrot · 23/07/2007 23:03

My friend has that book, she loves it, I keep meaning to borrow it from her.

Dh cooked the 'rice' while i went to get extra veg for the stir fry, except, it turned out to be barley, not that he minded, seen as he was having noodles

We got our stokke pieces today so F sat at the table with us at dinner eating pears and carrot. He looked very pleased with himself.

ahundredtimeturners · 23/07/2007 23:12

Erm... I take it we CAN give you credit for this thread title Franny?

Hello too! Am back from week long trip around Suffolk. Have eaten sandwiches, packets of crisps, fish and chips and cheese strings for what feels like years now.

Anything exciting happen here while I was away?

lionheart · 24/07/2007 07:34

It's an interesting book, that's for sure.

Your public is waiting TooT.

BBBBasilisk · 24/07/2007 08:00

I am hiding - I am not online much as have to read HP to DS and am scared of finding out the ending - am not even reading this thread and am missing mumsnet (and you) lots.

FrannyandZooey · 24/07/2007 08:30

BBB very wise; I hope you enjoy it.

100x it was a kind of collaborative effort Was wondering where you were and decided you and BBB must be in Germany watching odd cabaret and screaming.

TooT fab picture. PLEASE don't post the photo when I am not around. Dp is working from home today so I probably won't be on the pc again until this evening.

Baby carrot is a 10 / 10 er in the making!

Have eaten blueberries, grapes, raisins, kiwi and plums.

Lullabyloo · 24/07/2007 09:29

dug my Sophie Grigson's 'Sunshine Food' out of the bookshelves.....had forgotten just how good some of her veggie dishes are.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Think I might make the Bazargan later........it's sunny though for once & am toying with the idea of packing a picnic & jumping on the train to the seaside for the day.

oops brb, jehovah alert

lionheart · 24/07/2007 15:04

FrannyandZooey · 24/07/2007 18:32

Ah sorry

it was his Witnesses rather than the man himself

I now have a tract called Ethnic Harmony - Is It Possible? I could have told them that judging by MN no it is not

have eaten huge fk off salad

Oh dear

erm, attempt at translation:

the jehovah's witnesses called on me. They left me a leaflet about racial harmony. I felt sad because of that nasty thread about immigration. I ate a large amount of vegetables. I have bought a speaker and microphone to use when I am entertaining children over the summer. I am going to go off now and post on my other thread about that job.

is it just me avi who is particularly opaque?
