For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

hello chaps
went back to hosp this morning,...another blood thinning jab...noone about to do measurements examination etc...was chaos...lady collapsing inside doorway, man having heart attack..boy with ear bitten off by dog, lady with bone stuck in throat..little boy who had had his head stuck in car electric window etc etc.......most depressing...but better than fri pm with the drunks, bottle victims, knife wounds etc...that was scary

Have to drag ds there again in the morning..thankfully to main building for blood tests, scans etc & some answers hopefully....cant carry on like this for much longer or will go completely mad.

am v.cross with dh...he wouldn't take ds to horse show but promised him a swim & then retracted the offer half an hour later as he has too much work on.
Ds is miserable & scared about me & doesn't understand why he never ever can spend time with the father he adores.
Dh has booked tuesday off supposedly to take ds out for the day & now says he has too much work & may be able to spare an hour or two.

I want to scream...ds is so little & time is so precious...we waited 10 years to have him & he is growing up so fast & asks so little.
I wish dh would realise how important this time is

sorry all....am a complete misery as feel unsupported & alone in trying to keep us all afloat....when all I want is a teensy bit of tlc ...for once

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 16:06

Lullaby what a miserable time for you. I don't know what to say. It all sounds really tough.

TooTicky · 29/07/2007 16:28

Oh LL ! And and on your behalf. Wish I could help or at least come and hold your hand.

3andnomore · 29/07/2007 17:31

Aww Lullaby...you really are having a tough time right now, you poor thing.
And at your dh's attitude...

3andnomore · 29/07/2007 17:34

Oh and Franny, thank you for sticking up for me ( think you know what I am on about....)

TooTicky · 29/07/2007 17:35

Right. Unless something unexpected happens, I have decided what we are doing. Will drive Renault down to sea, get it scrapped, holiday sans car, return by steam/bus/train, etc. Will save lots of money just driving one way. Why on earth can children not go free on public transport? Anyway, we're off tomorrow. Back 9th Aug. Have eaten apple. I am HUNGREEEEEEE!

3andnomore · 29/07/2007 17:50

Toot...sounds like a fab idea...and hope you have a lovely time

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 18:05

TooT have a great holiday - it does sound like a good if slightly drastic plan. If you have time before you go could you please email me with your address again

(frannyandzooey at india dot com

if you have not got my other address)

as I have cunningly lost it, and still owe you some money. Sorry

LL if I don't 'speak' to you again before the morning I hope you finally get some answers tomorrow. Does it achieve anything at all if you sit down and talk to dh about him needing to give you more help and support, or will it make things worse?

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 18:06

Oh have eaten HUUUUGE bowl of raspberries, strawberries and redcurrants, and cream, and some cabbage. Not very impressive but I am only having 2 meals today I think (couldn't sleep, up late, up in night with ds, slept in )

TooTicky · 29/07/2007 18:58

Have had a plum session. Have 2 bags of chard to eat tonight. Somehow. Any ideas?

Franny, I did email you earlier actually, let me know if it hasn't arrived...

TooTicky · 29/07/2007 18:59

Franny, did you have your cabbage with the berries and cream?

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 19:01

Chard in a stir fry is very nice Or in a bowl with some berries and cream

it hasn't turned up yet TooT

Filchymindedvixen · 29/07/2007 19:35

Think I've just eaten my 10 today in one fell swoop - chicken with ,cabbage, carrots, green beans, roasted beet and sweet potato, cauliflower nd poatoes - all from my allotment bar the sweet potaotes [smug]

TT - hope your cunning plan works and hope you have a lovely holiday

LL -

Am meeting some mumsnetters tomoorow. Off to panic now!

Filchymindedvixen · 29/07/2007 19:36

oh and blackberries, rasps and strawberries with cream and meringue!

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 20:03

FMF who are you meeting [nosey nose]

Filchymindedvixen · 29/07/2007 20:12

well tatties won't come. But other northern types are. I'm going with Northerner and I believe others will include Gingermonkey, sarahalal, Squonk, J20, Bettythebuilder. But TBH I don't know...

They will judge me! And find me dull, weird, ugly and a bad parent! (but I shall be brimming with vegi-tastic virtue and fruity-tabulous fervour...)

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 20:47

Oh FMF they will love you. Will you go as a pirate?

TOOT I got your email but my reply keeps bouncing back. Can you try emailing me with your mobile no, in the hope that you writing to me will work again?

lionheart · 29/07/2007 21:04

Lullaby, I hope you're feeling a little better now that you are about to find out what it's all about. Does your Dh not understand how rough you've been feeling?

TooT have a fab holiday.

Fmv have you met any of them before? I think it's jolly brave of you.

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 21:22

Lionheart I just met a woman who wants a group of us to start up a \link{http://www.forestschools.com/forest school}

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 21:22

Filly feels sick and we talk about food a lot on here

Greeny is not around a huge amount, but can be found from time to time writing alternately fawning and insulting emails

Oh pssst btw I have a NEW TITLE for tomorrow and it is HOT FROM MNHQ

FrannyandZooey · 29/07/2007 21:35

I am sure you know this but they recommend fruit juice and the three ps for constipation - pears, peaches, plums

Tatties · 29/07/2007 21:39

Oh FMV, you're not dull, ugly, weird or a bad parent! I feel a bit angsty and spotty and nervous but if our morning goes well tomorrow I will endeavor to come

LL - really sorry you're not getting much support at home I hope you can get some answers soon.

PSW, my dinner tonight was inspired by your lentil moussaka!

Avi what about putting pictures on your MN profile, but select them to be visible only to your MN mates?

TT hope you have a lovely holiday

Hello everyone else

Tatties · 29/07/2007 21:42

Oh Avi, meant to say we have poo issues with ds too Awful isn't it? Sometimes I feel like it dominates our life. One thing's for sure, it's not for lack of F&V. I think it just feels strange to him.
