For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information if you follow the link at the very bottom of the page

We made cakes on Thursday and I've been stepping on those little hundreds and thousands ever since.

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 21:37

Oh, well we had already cooked the cakes in the morning, then cleaned up

this was just before tea time and I just plonked him in apron and gave him the icing (which is cream cheese and fruit spread mixed, btw, no sugar [preen]) and the decorations and let him get on with it

Oh TooT will be pleased to know they were vegan as I had no eggs in the house

I didn't didn't know cakes worked without eggs.

You made a tower? !!!

Boco · 24/06/2007 21:42

Cakes look lovely franny. Your ds is too - all blonde and rosy like my dd2.

Today i've had blueberries, raspberries, grapes, strawberries, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, cauliflower, pepper, apple.

I went to a bbq and the food was amazing - usually hate bbq food, but they had so many lovely salads and bread. And goats and chickens and ducks (not to eat, just pets) - dds cried when we left - they want a pygmy goad and some indian runner ducks.

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 21:45

Cakes work without egg if you put something else in instead

I use ground linseed and water which works v well in most cakes

am most of Boco's BBQ. We were meant to go fruit picking this morning, but rained off. Rain all week, apparently. We have 2 outdoor festivals planned next week, and no car atm. Looking a bit arse really.

MrsCarrot · 24/06/2007 22:10

MrsCarrot · 24/06/2007 22:10

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 22:15

It's there! The cake is INSANELY good

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 24/06/2007 22:18

thanks!

it is actually quite easy, cocktail sticks pin icing covered swiss rolls to the sides and the towers are upside down ice cream cones dipped in pink icing with silver balls, then decorated with balls and so on

more fiddly than difficult really

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 22:18

Hmmmm

your dh is quite a looker, isn't he?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 22:19

OP posts:
lionheart · 24/06/2007 22:20

The cake, Franny, the cake ...

Boco · 24/06/2007 22:20

Wow amazing cake! Your dh looks so familiar - i'm getting neighbours or seinfeld or something...

I once made an island of sodor cake, it was very small though. And inedible.

lionheart · 24/06/2007 22:21

The concept still counts, Boco. And the will.

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 22:24

Yes yes I know MrsC's dh too

and he's a bit of alright

(who the ruddy hell does he look like? I never watch tv)
