For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information if you follow the link at the very bottom of the page

it was a Globe Theatre production, though, albeit a touring cast, so not some shitey local park crew.

Hi everyone, sorry you've been having a hard time, NQC. It sounds scary, especially if you can't pin it down to anything specific.

I wonder if becoming a children's t.v presenter is frowned upon in thespian circles, or whether it's just understood to be a different kind of performance.

Have eaten lots of seeds and fruit so far but the day is barely begun ...

The racism threads have been heartening and also astonishing in equal measure so I'm staying away from them now.

sorry to hear things are a bit twisty for you NQC, hope they un-twist soon.

Mrscarrot · 24/06/2007 20:20

Filthymindedvixen- I forgot to say after you watched Gogol Bordellos that I bought that cd for dh recently. I like it, especially the Manu
Chao sound mixed with throaty warbling, I do actually have a cd of Mongolian throat singing somewhere, reminds me of that.

Franny- I would love to get rid of our tv, I have to confess to it being on a lot of the time that I'm on here too. However, I agree about the hilarity, I laugh out loud about something on a daily basis on mnet while the tv hardly ever amuses me.

I really miss the theatre, I go a lot usually, although our larger one is conveniently being refurbished at the moment so there is less on.
I take the dc's to the puppet theatre a lot too but not since having Lo. I should go again, I can always feed him if he's noisy. I quite fancy doing some puppet making workshops too.

Lionhart- I have got no further with exercise bike buying. It is shameful, but I do keep thinking about it!

Food, haven't eaten much today, mixed veg rice on raw cabbage leaves, carrots, onions, peppers, lots of garlic and sweet chilli sauce. Really fancied chinese take away so this was my substitute!

talcy0 · 24/06/2007 20:22

juat quick update
whilst dh out of room.....

no exercise.......lots cherries, apples, pears...bit crap really...

must try harder.

Not eaten as much crap as normally do though....which is a bonus.

Mrscarrot · 24/06/2007 20:46

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 20:53

No, I think I have caught up on sleep now (I ruddy hope so anyway)

I've already looked at them

What a sweety! and such healthy cakes too! I haven't noticed the baking threads until this evening. I LOVE baking but it's not as much fun not being able to eat most of it atm, have had some good experiments though.

For birthdays we always cook some construction like a castle and have a tray of multi coloured cupcakes, sugar flowers etc. I might have to get the pans out and join in. I find uploading photos such a drag though, finding the cables etc.

lionheart · 24/06/2007 21:21

I like the sound of cooking a castle.

That boy looks like he takes this chef business seriously--he's gorgeous Franny (as, of course, are the little cakes).

Mrscarrot · 24/06/2007 21:25

Hi Lionhart- yes, we;ve had fairy castles, mushrooms, pirate ships, pinata's, they're good fun and easier than you might think.

Dc's regularly get the book out and decide what they're having next time!

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 21:28

I loved taking the photos of him lionheart, yes, all his little serious expressions, and he was a complete hoot while he was doing it - a running commentary about each one saying "This one is very rich and exotic...this one is handsome and rosy-cheeked...." LOL. I managed to get loads of it on video

I can't cook proper cakes (always feel like a very poor mother at birthday season when every other child has a ruddy unicorn cake or something, and ds has a jam sponge , so am working on him to be making his own by 2009

Mrscarrot · 24/06/2007 21:29

oh, I hope that didn't sound smug?

They were very wonky castles...

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 21:31

no no sorry for my bitter tone

I am just jealous, you weren't being smug at all

OP posts:
lionheart · 24/06/2007 21:31

Everything looks suspiciously clean.

lionheart · 24/06/2007 21:32

A wonky castle sounds impressive, too, Mrsc.

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 21:33

What, clean in my cupcake pictures?

Ds had just been swimming, so he was quite clean

you can see we don't iron much in our house though

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2007 21:33

I would like to SEE the wonky castle

I bet you have pictures MrsC

OP posts:
lionheart · 24/06/2007 21:33

There should be flour and stuff everywhere.

lionheart · 24/06/2007 21:34

C'mon Mrsc, let's have a peek at your wonky castle.

Mrscarrot · 24/06/2007 21:34

the swiss roll tower sagged on its stick!

you're right lionhart, the pictures do seem very clean, how is this, Franny? Did you wipe up quickly before snapping? My dc's would have been covered in 'stuff'

Mrscarrot · 24/06/2007 21:36

oh, crossed posts

not sure if they were on digital...
