I have been working myself up slowly to a much needed detox for too long now.

I really am abusing my body by

Drinking at least half a bottle of wine 5 nights a week

Smoking too much and mostly in secret !

Eating crap when the kids are in bed

Not making time for exercise and not swimming which i love because have usually downed a glass of wine with dinner !

Does anybody else want to join me for a full 7 day fag free wine free junk food free lots of water horrible horrible week-at the end of which we will shine from the inside out and feel somewhat marvellous !

Night!

UCM · 14/05/2007 21:40

Moondog I have just cracked my screen with a peanut. Better out than in when one is choking

fakeblonde · 14/05/2007 22:20

Well tea for me tonight was-grilled chicken, lots of lettuce basil chives corriander and parsley - all from the garden ,tomatoes, cucumber, onions, radish avocado, asparages tips and a pint of water.
Then went to a yoga class and spent the whole 1 and 1/2 hours with my legs crossed and harbouring terrible wind !

Just made a post yoga smoothie with blackberreries, blackcurrants, strawberries, pink grapefruit and apple juice-no wine !

Dh had no wine either and he`s actually fitted our new fridge which has been in the garage a week - so so far this is good.
Wont mention the councelling to him yet !

Missed you all you early to bed birds. LS -Got through bedtime by DP coming home and manfully taking over so that I could revel in delights of our newly fixed telly. Talcy - I forgive you Wagon Wheel on basis of respect for having such a retro snack in your house. MrM (are you a man?) will continue to speculate.

Where are you Fakeblonde - in bed nursing a bad yoga injury? And Dr Northerner et al.

Super healthy supper of large salad & tea only for me. Agree about prob of nice soft drinks - Sainsbury Ginger & Lemon Grass Cordial is ok with San Pellegrino. If you can't be bothered with picking Elderflowers you can also get similar from Sains.

It was the same when I was pg except then wine was not an option nor a temptation due to nightmare heartburn. Then it was just a nice glass of Gaviscon with Milk of Magnesia chaser.

Am not feeling very zingy yet but think warm feelings of healthy smugness will soon begin to kick in.

kazzia · 14/05/2007 22:35

Hi Fakeblond - X posted. Hope yoga wind has now disipated. Sleep tight.

MrMariella · 14/05/2007 22:45

Well done all, esp. you fakeblonde..bit jealous of the yoga bit.
Right.

  • did 30mins run this evening in beautiful, beautiful green hills under a blue sky round resorvoirs, after a game of footie with dd in the back garden
  • abs and press up regime on return
  • drank enough watery juice to sink a small fleet. Got fish oil and multi-vit supplements as well as Vit C effervescent
  • 5, yes 5 portions (nudge, nudge K.!) 4 fruit and one greenery.
  • and on cue for an 11.30 lights out!!

and biking to work tomorrow!

Will I glow in the dark??

Agree on the dispensation for having Wagon Wheels - any modern rubbish and there would have been nooo salvation.

yes kazzia, I am indeed all male. Did try to get that across in nick-name, but know this isn't fool-proof!

talcydoesjacksparrow · 15/05/2007 08:04

I'm eating small bowl of bird food

Gonna do some brisk walking

Although friend visiting later wants to take me out for lunch

I'll be good

Have a good day!

MrMariella · 15/05/2007 08:06

Morning detoxifiers!

How are you feeling to day fakeblonde?? Better than your average morning?

Wagon Wheels and crisps? Down with that sort of thing!!

Have good days, all.

lightningsal · 15/05/2007 08:24

Massively smug here. Full nights sleep, feeling warm glow of self satisfaction, going to jump around in ex. class this am.

DD off to school, DS sitting on my knee with the obligatory toy car, today wrapped lovingly with dental floss (car, not kid).

Day 2, force be with you.

kazzia · 15/05/2007 10:23

Can only do quick one as am at work feeling not very perky & rather tired. Maybe its the toxins leaving my body.

MrM - you just go to disprove whoever it was who said earlier in the thread that detox is what "women" do.

fakeblonde · 15/05/2007 12:25

Morning all.
MrM i felt really good last last-slept like a log and now have a banging headache.
I know-fresh air plently of water and it is probably all the toxins going down the loo 1

Smoothie again for breakfast-will have to go filck off the soggy caterpillars in the greenhouse in the hunt for something healthy for lunch-yuk !
Hows it going for everyone else ?

fakeblonde · 15/05/2007 17:46

Hows everyone doing-my head is banging.

MrMariella · 15/05/2007 18:25

Biked to work..er..and back again!!

Fakeblonde - d oyou think the head is to do with the change in diet?? Probably is, whilst bod stops saying "Where the feck did all of these vitmins and minerals come from? And more to the point. What do I do with them??"..and a change in sleep. All of this effort to feel rubbish! only kidding.....but fagging it and wine-supping wouldn't make it go away. Will it, now. >

Can't fit any more watery juice in me. At all.

hellobello · 15/05/2007 20:27

OMG! Lentils for lunch!! This is almost unheard of! I'm drinking some fizzy water and about to eat pasta and cheese. I expect the old wine monster will want to be fed tomorrow, but I think it's sleepy enough tonight. I don't really think that much about what I eat, so I probably don't eat enough variety of fruit and veg. It's so dull cutting it all up

MrMariella · 15/05/2007 21:04

Lentils!! For lunch!! Are you a name-changing refugee from the 10/10 thread...they are unhealthily into their woven lentils over there.......

talcydoesjacksparrow · 15/05/2007 21:09

Lots of fruit, lots of water, some brisk walking......

and no wagon wheel

Keep up the good work all...

kazzia · 15/05/2007 21:23

Buna sera detoxers. Glad you are all doing so well. Had a bit of slippage on way to work - does croissant & americano count on a detox (maybe in France - French birds are all thin aren't they?)

Firmly back on track with veg & tofu stir-fry plus ginger & lime cordial with sparkling water. In a crystal wine glass so I don't get mistaken for lentil weaver.

FB - sorry re head. Maybe yoga a step too far. Recommend warm bath & early night.

HB - totally agree about all that veg/ fruit chopping. Hate smell of sticky orange juice on fingers plus spring greens are like hard labour. But it doesn't have to be that way - think frozen peas/ homegrown baby salad leaves & tomatoes/ apples.

Keep on guzzling that H2O ladeez & gents.

kazzia · 15/05/2007 21:24

Talcy - what about Curly Wurlies - any of them?

talcydoesjacksparrow · 15/05/2007 21:28

Croissant?

CROISSANT?

But i had bird seed cereal stuff!

That's not fair!

talcydoesjacksparrow · 15/05/2007 21:30

no curly wurlys....

but there's a rather nice looking couple of slices black forest gateaux in kitchen

kazzia · 15/05/2007 21:32

BFG has cherries & cocoa which is fruit/ veg. Well maybe not ..

Have looked on 10 year younger thread and they have been eating chapattis and pea dips.

talcydoesjacksparrow · 15/05/2007 21:37

Oh, will definately try that for the rest of the week. Yum!

talcydoesjacksparrow · 15/05/2007 21:39

Going to drink litre of water now...
then go to bed, need beauty sleep..
then get up every 15 mins to pee
night night

kazzia · 15/05/2007 21:44

Tell me your pea dip recipe tomorrow.

Buna noce all.

kazzia · 15/05/2007 21:45

Gordon Ramsey is making a fruit smoothie with champagne in it - maybe will try at weekend when am completely non toxic
