Any one had experience of this...?
My little boy 13 mths has been really poorrly since friday following vaccinations on thursday ( hib and ...?)

He started with whinging and loss of appetite followed by vomitting for a day and now terrible diarroeah and a low temp 34.5 and BLUE lips!

he appears very poorly - sleeps till 1pm every day and then dozy two hours later - but the cold ams and legs and blue lips do concern me...

any docs or nurses??

hopefully you're on the phone to nhsdirect now. let us know how you get on.

GreenandBlackOtter · 27/03/2007 21:54

GRRRRRR
I have rung them and they are 'exceptionally busy' and only dealing with calls of an urgent nature - he is asleep and i would rather wait than wake him {!?}

any nurses here?

or docs?

dp seems to think he is ok and if i am still worried take him on the morning....

popsycal · 27/03/2007 21:55

i am tempted to say that it is urgent

glassslipper · 27/03/2007 21:57

read this and call them back.

GreenandBlackOtter · 27/03/2007 21:59

glass thankyou i did read that and summised that maybe he was suffering minor meningitis symptoms due to vaccination....

OP posts:
popsycal · 27/03/2007 22:00

breen and blck - there is no 'minor' abotu meningitis symptoms - please please ring

glassslipper · 27/03/2007 22:00

he may well be and may be ok in the morning but better to have someone tell you that than to worry about it all night.

popsycal · 27/03/2007 22:02

agree totally with glassslipper

GreenandBlackOtter · 27/03/2007 22:05

If they haven't phoned you back in five minutes GO TO CASUALTY - there is no point in hanging about and they will send you in anyway.

Hillary · 27/03/2007 22:13

Please go now if this is meningitis time is of the essance. My dd had menengitis/sceptiacemia and nearly died please go NHS Direct will send you there anyway!

lulumama · 27/03/2007 22:14

hope he is ok xxx

JodieG1 · 27/03/2007 22:41

Any news?

mum2sons · 27/03/2007 22:41

Please do take your son to casualty. This is not a normal reaction. Please trust only yourself as his mum. You know him best and know this is not normal.

JodieG1 · 27/03/2007 23:11

Still nothing? How is your baby? Assume he's back to normal as you've posted on threads 20 mins ago.

tinkerbellhadpiles · 27/03/2007 23:17

JodiG1 - you stalky minx you! Seriously, let's hope he is fine and that they have checked him over and given him the all clear. I have to go to bed now. Perhaps there will be an update tomorrow?

emkana · 27/03/2007 23:24

Oh dear I hate this kind of thing.

I sincerely hope BabyOtter is okay.

Frizbe · 27/03/2007 23:28

Hillary · 27/03/2007 23:34

We are all with you GreenandBlackOtter.

Please keep us posted, we are all worried for you. xx

Debz72 · 28/03/2007 07:55

green and black,
I tried to get on here last night, but couldn't log on (angry).
I'm a nurse, I would have advised A and E asap, as did lots of other very sensible mums. How are things now? Hoping all is ok.

glassslipper · 28/03/2007 08:26

hope that everything is ok greenandblackotter.

hope you didnt think i was nagging last night and i hope that your son is ok.

xx

3littlefrogs · 28/03/2007 09:38

My internet was down last night - have only just seen this. I am a nurse and with those symptoms I would have said A&E NOW.

I really hope that he has been seen by a doctor and is improving. Please let us know.

nailpolish · 28/03/2007 09:48

omg yes i hope she didnt sit and wait for them to phone back.......

no doctor or nurse would think badly of you taking your child to A&E with anything remotely suspicious

lulumama · 28/03/2007 10:07

any news on babyotter?

ShinyHappyDalek · 28/03/2007 10:10
