I have had them about 10 years

I have tried a chiropodist, just cost £100, hurt a lot and didnt work.

Are there any herbal/non medical answers?

Thanks

surely a plaster wont work!!! I am basically mummifying my feet, but finding it fun [pervert emoticon]....

I wouldn't have thought so, I had them all over my heel so used the banana skin and taped it down with about 3 strips of micropore tape. I can't see how a plaster would work unless you used a big one, you know, the sort you cut to side from a big strip.

Right, off to bed (been saying this for about an hour but still stuck on MN! )

Night x

I'm using the brown stretchy tape on a roll not a plaster. Works quite well to hold it in place.

SlightlyMadScientist · 01/03/2007 13:47

DTD1 had 1 verucca on hte side of her toe. 2 plasters held a small square of banana on a treat.

If are trying to cover the area the size of england - then maybe a couple of plasters won't work.

That brown elastoplast tape on a reel probably would though...

VoodooChickenhead · 02/03/2007 15:44

lol area the size of England..........
Mine are more like Canada...........

ps some of us don't get time to play during the day (I was actually on a school trip this afternoon)...

massagemum · 06/03/2007 19:13

Sorry not sure if I have posted on this thread before - but buy some tea tree essential oil - apply to a cotton bud directly onto verruca at least twice per day press quite hard into verruca to kill off the centre of it!!

Within a few days you should be seeing a vast improvement.

Bobalina · 06/03/2007 19:18

Thanks Massagemum. What, no bananas? Marvellous!

VoodooChickenhead · 06/03/2007 20:46

No I was doing my duty as a 'parent helper'. Quarries are interesting places you not (NOT)...

appledumpling · 06/03/2007 21:25

Am going to give the banana and tea tree oil a go. I have a painful wart/verruca inbetween my toes which throbs and is keeping me awake at night. At 38 weeks pg I'm not appreciating the lack of sleep (or the pain). Down to Tesco tomorrow to stock up on bananas...

Apparently there is a link between the high levels of progesterone in pregnancy and the occurrence of warts and verrucas. And your immune system has other things to worry about so the HPV virus gets to come out and play.

stressteddy · 06/03/2007 21:27

Sorry haven't read all of this so sorry if these have been suggested before. I had a very bad verrucca for months. The chiropodist tried buning and freezing and then ulcerrating it off yuk. Nothing worked. In the end I tried an old wives tale. Rub a radish on it as often as possible throughout the day. It was gone in about 4 weeks....brillo!

VoodooChickenhead · 07/03/2007 16:09

a radish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fruit and veg is powerful and dangerous

OP posts:
SlightlyMadScientist · 07/03/2007 16:16

I would imagine radish ould sting though. I would stik to the placid banana.

LilyLoo · 07/03/2007 16:23

Still persevering should i be scraping the soft skin off or do i just leave banana and tea tree to work it's magic ?

SlightlyMadScientist · 07/03/2007 16:28

I used a fine file about once a week. As the verucca started to seperate from teh underlying skin round the edges I used to pick the edges off...

massagemum · 07/03/2007 16:30

With the tea tree oil just keep applying it as often as you can. Make sure to really press the cotton bud into the centre of the verruca.

VoodooChickenhead · 07/03/2007 16:33

I trim mine every few weeks with nail scissors, but it goes a bit sore if I cut too much off..
