It's back For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and more detailed information here

fruit of the coca tree, in liquid form...

Mycupoverrunswithlove · 13/02/2007 17:32

Actually, as you may have guessed the dc are not allowed it all. I made the mistake of drinking it at my Mums sixieth party last weekend as I was too ill for acohol. God I could not stop burbing

Fillyjonk · 13/02/2007 17:47

I used to drink it, my god that was the least of my worries

My brother persuaded me to try it when I last had gastroenteritis (on ooh my 29th b'day ffs grr)

god it was rank

and my teeth hurt

(oy wheres zachary. She's posted and run ffs. I bet she hasn't. I bet she's lurking)

filthymindedvixen · 13/02/2007 19:04

Ok everyone, the 10/10member who exists only to make you all feel superior is here

But she is now a non-smoker . Which is good. Except for I am terrified of beoming an ex-smoker weighing 90 stone....

...and I am presently off out for a meal with dh (see, this way it's close enough to Valentines to feel vaguely romantic, coupled with the smugness of not subscribing to that crass, over-priced Hallmark commercialism crap )

I will be having dessert - don't try and stop me, you don't wanna come between a cake addict and her fix!

So please may I start tomorrow?

Mycupoverrunswithlove · 13/02/2007 19:07

Go for it Filthy I would never be a gooseberry on a date, and I would never come between a woman and her cake.
Well done about the smoking.
Oh one last thing, stick to wine, coke will make you burp, and believe me that is not very romantic

FrannyandZooey · 13/02/2007 20:24

Good evening my dear ladies, and may I say how nice it is to see you all again?

I had a chickpea, courgette, carrot, mushroom, swede and sweet potato korma tonight - would have been highly healthy if not for the vast amounts of coconut and almonds in it

Am feeling quite down - mouth problems (ulcers? wisdom teeth?) plus ds is weaning and I am finding it hard...where are Tatties and Paps btw???

OP posts:
ILoveBeingWelshBoris · 13/02/2007 20:35

Good to see you Franny, hope DS is cool.

You rang?

Oh, so good to see you all here.

Don't ask me about fruit and veg atm, or exercise... I haven't been to pilates since before Christmas... It is so much easier in the summer isn't it? I think I need to prepare myself mentally to get back into this, but I know I will feel much better if I start eating more fruit again.

Franny how are you feeling about weaning? I can imagine it must be stirring up very mixed emotions. I don't know how I will feel when ds doesn't need me in the same way any more. I got a bit put out when he asked for milk in a cup recently

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2007 07:38

Ah, well, I am taking it a bit hard Which took me by surprise when I think of all the times I would have loved to have a break from it

However I am pleased that it is happening at his pace. Lovely to know so many sympatico people, here, anyway, that helps a lot.

Right now FRUIT AND VEG

Fillyjonk · 14/02/2007 08:42

you know my pesonal feeling on it for me, I think, but..am sorry its hard for you

febuary is a shite month, can we all have a gym excusing note til march please?

harpsichordcarrier · 14/02/2007 08:57

franny!

Mycupoverrunswithlove · 14/02/2007 16:17

Hi, woke at 6am with a migraine, so have spent most of the day in bed Not much opportunities for eating fruit and veg when you are moaning in agony with a pillow over your head
Franny, sorry to hear about how you are feeling about the weaning. I am still feeding dts, but they haven't fed today so far as they have missed their morning feed. They seem fine, so I think to myself, maybe I could just not feed them this evening, but then that makes me Not sure if I will let them self wean, or if I will get to the point where it feels right to stop. I just know that I will be

Rue · 14/02/2007 17:32

Eaten some grapes. not feeling hungry today, though am supposed to be cooking something for dh. seems a bit pointless though.

Mycupoverrunswithlove · 14/02/2007 17:39

Sorry to hear you are feeling a "can't be bothered" I know from other threads you are feeling down. Its hard to cook or prepare food when you are feeling like that

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2007 18:29

God, sorry to hijack thread like this but I am really struggling, please say nice things to me or something

I need to get some proportion on it but don't want to start a separate thread as I know someone will say it is sick and I should be glad he is stopping anyway

Oh dear sorry about this
