It's back For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and more detailed information here

I am only wearing two necklaces and six bracelets today, and NO earrings, there just doesn't seem to be any point when there is vomit in my hair and baby piss on my trousers

and I have eaten NO fruit or veg today, and will NOT be doing any exercise! [yah boo emoticon]

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2007 15:29

baby piss? You had a baby when I wasn't looking?

Oh, eat a satsuma. Gwan.

I had the veg that comes with a chicken kabob. Oh, but I bought a lettuce, and I think there is cucumber and tomato in the house, so that's salad for tea, probably with jar sauce pasta.

I did make a sort of lazy, um, that cold tomato soup thing? When we had company and it went down very well, at least with the adults. Gazpatcho. That's it.

NotQuiteCockney · 18/02/2007 15:30

Wait, maggots are off, but "piss-stained" is fine?

Greensleeves · 18/02/2007 15:31

ds2 is still a baby to me!!

eeeuw to satsuma, little slimy lurid orange podules of sickly acid for bacteria to BREED on [bleuw]

Greensleeves · 18/02/2007 15:31

"maggots are off"

NotQuiteCockney · 18/02/2007 15:41

Ok, so Frances has her twitchy thing, and Greeny has hers ... what is harpsi twitchy about then?

Greensleeves · 18/02/2007 15:47

HC is twitchy about eggy dishes, in fact eggy smells generally

Oh, and euphemistic nicknames for the female genitalia

Greensleeves · 18/02/2007 15:48
FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2007 15:52

HC is very twitchy about eggs, and also bananas

Greeny I think you add to this thread by making us all too nauseous to eat junk food

I have had a big gorgeous salad for lunch and we are going out for tea later. I am ruddy starving so I may try to hurry this along.

Greensleeves · 18/02/2007 15:56

I had big truly gorgeous salad at Wagamama last night, it was delicious

Does it count if you spew it back up and hour later?

You don't fool me with your "too nauseous to eat junk food" Franny, I can SEE the Dominoes box you've got behind your back

Tatties · 18/02/2007 16:01

Well I'm twitchy about all these bodily fluids

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2007 16:02

IT WAS PERFECT PIZZA OK????

Look, tomorrow we're going to have a new thread, and it will have bouncers and stuff. And there will be no more nauseating imagery on what I would remind you is meant to be an inspirational healthy eating thread

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 18/02/2007 16:03

I've set up a thread asking people to order bodily fluids in terms of grossness. Left off sex-related fluids.

Just in case anyone is really dying to talk about such things.

We have been vom-free since about noon yesterday. Woohoo!

I recently helped an MNer learn how to more safely carry slugs in her mouth. While we're being gross ...

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2007 16:06

DEAR GOD CLEAR THE THREAD

*

ok , move along, there's nothing to see

I'll just whip round with a bit of Dettox and we'll be shipshape in time for tomorrow morning

Tatties · 18/02/2007 16:12

Jesus NQC!

NotQuiteCockney · 18/02/2007 16:14

What?

She said she was gagging every time she had to carry a slug, so I suggested either not carrying them in her mouth, or carrying them firmly in her lips, and not letting them slip down the back of her throat, and make her gag. [innocent]

NotQuiteCockney · 18/02/2007 18:45

Woo-woo!

Does harpsi object to mention of eggs and bananas? Or just contact with them?

Tatties · 18/02/2007 19:07

lol NQC

I knew someone with a banana phobia once...

NotQuiteCockney · 18/02/2007 19:31

I know someone back home who's funny about bananas. Hates seeing them, finding peels, anything in that line. I think it somewhat extends to all fruit, but bananas are the worst of them.

filthymindedvixen · 18/02/2007 19:37

ds goes green if he even smells a hint of banana

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2007 20:21

HC is allergic to them, so they make her twitchy with good reason

she says the worst thing is being able to smell one but not being able to see where it is

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 18/02/2007 21:24

Ah, is she allergic to eggs, too?
