A new thread as requested. For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Ah Overrun, I am really pleased your op is over with. How are you feeling? I hope you can manage to have some fruit today to help you recuperate - all that vit C etc

Paps I can't bear Marmite so I approve highly of substituting veg instead. Do you think dp would notice if I filled his precious jar with brocolli and spinach instead?

I keep thinking Louche Woman says Lentil Woman

OP posts:
Papillon · 01/12/2006 12:28

Louche seems to me to be a woman who likes to lounge on the couch

Would advise Franny, serving vege mix on plate than jar switch. I love marmite forget not, so support eating that, especially with slices of apple on toast lol

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2006 12:31

Gosh I thought I liked odd combinations. I heartily disappove of Marmite for encouraging an appetite for salt and for raising blood pressure in slightly lardy dp

but as it's you Papillon I will overlook it just this once

lounging on couches? lentils? goodness, these are not the images i had in mind for this name...

raunchy a bit more like it i suppose...but feel about as raunchy as a wet weekend. o fgs, i may as well go back to nappiesgalore...

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2006 17:49

Oh it's you Nappies, why didn't you say so?

Lovely to see you and I can promise that your libido will increase if you eat 10 portions of f + v per day

Paps, my fine fairy-like friend, good to see you too! (did you really miss the flight to the London meet-up? I was nearly in tears of empathy when I saw your sad little post)

Today have had potato skins wth baked beans (I was 'hoovering up' at preschool
Followed by grapes, radish and carrot sticks, mango, orange and apple smoothie and am fully anticipating a completely fruit and veg free supper as DH is cooking (anything I like as long as it involves no veg apart from chillies...)

But will be glugging fermented grape juice at 7pm on the dot!!! (how many glasses constitutes a portion d'you think?)

TinsellyRhino · 01/12/2006 17:51

increased libido, holy crap noone mentioned that

yulemoonfiend · 01/12/2006 17:52

TR! in your condition!!

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2006 17:53

FMF that is a fine day's food and no mistake.

Trinity I said it would be better, I can't promise you will actually feel Up To Doing It

OP posts:
TinsellyRhino · 01/12/2006 17:54

rofl good point, I think I would have to take extensive yoga classes and gymnastics lessons just to get into a position that would make it possible

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2006 17:54

Gawd no-one could stop me when I was pregnant

I had the horn for 9 months and dp was frankly terrified, he said it was like being in a surreal Benny Hill show, with a huge busty lady chasing a bald man around a table

OP posts:
TinsellyRhino · 01/12/2006 17:55

rofl franny, I have definitely not been feeling like that

yulemoonfiend · 01/12/2006 17:57

PMSL F&Z, I remember those days with a great deal of affection....

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2006 17:58

Dp just sort of shivers and winces if I mention it to him

it was fab wasn't it FMF? Ah, hormones...

OP posts:
yulemoonfiend · 01/12/2006 18:09

Having bosoms was just great....

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2006 18:18

Yes, wasn't it?

I found my old maternity bra the other day and I was in awe at it

OP posts:
Papillon · 01/12/2006 18:54

Have a great shot of me in a black maternity bra with cabbage leaves peeking out like frill! appropriate for the thread

did not have horn though

don´t know about english marmite but the NZ / OZ marmite has B12 Franny so some good in there

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2006 19:15

The combination of horn plus cabbage would have been bad, I think

and you can't talk me round on Marmite, it is rank

OP posts:
TinsellyRhino · 01/12/2006 19:16

gosh I have big enough boobs without being pg. when I had dd2 they went from a dd to a g cup. dh actually took a photo of me resting my hot, swollen and maked G cup chest on a pillow the day my milk came in

he was shocked the baby could drink from something that was bigger than it's own head

Papillon · 01/12/2006 19:26

You do like tea though Franny I hope, here is a biscuit for the saucer.

Would never try to convince you, my sister likes vegemite and I marmite - how fickle the love of the dark spread is

TinsellyRhino big mammy little head brings back fond memories sigh

Before I read other messages, can I just clear something up, it was my dt1 who was in hospital not me. I am now scheduled for January, sorry I thought I had mentioned that he was going in

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2006 20:23

Oh Overrun I am sorry, I just assumed they had finally got you a date for your op. I am rubbish at remembering these things so I do apologise.

I thought you were sounding a bit chipper post-surgery

How is dt?
