Good lordie, dd had a cold which got her so frustrated as she couldnt breathe to feed that she chomped on my poor nipp, which has now swelled up into a weird white bump/blister thing and is agony to feed from.

She did it a few weeks ago to the same one, and a blood blister appeared at the tip, which disappeared after a few days of very very careful feeds.

But when I feed her she gets distracted by the slightest noise, eg me sneezing, dh coughing on other side of room, and whips her head round while still attatched. Apart from feeding her in a soundproofed box how the heck do I stop her?

She also tugs very hard on the left one, but is an angel on the right?

Any ideas?????????????
ps she is 4.5mths and I am stopping bf at xmas probably...if I can put up with this pain till then!
tar for your help

voodoo, i hope you get better soon, its not nice being ill and having to look after bubs as well.

i had to buy xmas cards for my ds1 today as i forgot they all do them at school also. so he has a busy eve writing them all!!

good evenig everybody.
we;ve been to a birthday party this evening, they had a magic show and punch and judy, was very good. ds2 sat and watched it all with a look of amusment on his face, esspess when they were all dancing to the superman song, ( dont know the name, the one where they ring the bell, do the macha man thing)
he had his first hard solids whilst we were there, they had some pink wafer biscuit, so i gave him one to suck and ate the whole thing, i tried to take it away after a few mins, and he had a hissy fit, threw himself backwards and cried till i gave it back!! he loved it. its probably got all bad stuff in hes not suppossed to have but he enjoyed it!! and he did have green beans, potatoe and parsnip for tea to make up for it!!
hows the weaning going voodooz, im thinking about starting 3 meals a day now, hes on two at the mo and clears the whole lot , he seens hungryer at dinner so maybe tomorrow we will try something.
do you have any morning sickness jen? i was lucky and didnt get any with either of mine, i just paid for it at the end as i was really ill, never mind

see you all later

JennStarOfWonder · 06/12/2006 21:31

Evening folks

Ugh I have all day nausea and up to this morning, haven't been sick. I was sick in the kitchen bin while dh was laughing at me. Luckily I wasn't at work first thing coz I had my booking appt.

Dd grabbed a chocolate chip cookie off me the other day. It was the first refined sugar she had ever had. It is also the first snack other than dried apricots she has devoured and REALLY enjoyed. I was too knackered to care though.

worleywinterwonderland · 06/12/2006 21:43

at least you were near the bin! i hope it doesnt last too long. my friend had really really bad mornig sickness and we all joked and said it mus be twins if it was that bad, and low and behold when she had her first scan there were littleun's sitting there!! she had them this week bless, a month early so they are little tiddlers and in scbu but healthy.

JennStarOfWonder · 06/12/2006 22:19

My scan is next week. Midwife gave my belly a feel today and said she thought I was about 10 weeks, when I think I am about 8. Oh well not long to wait to find out.

VoodooKumquat · 06/12/2006 22:20

I was sick twice or 3x a day from week 7 to week 29. I hated the sickness and the smells in the kitchen totally made me flip out. I couldnt look at the frying pan!
I think I will do breakfast with dd next week as she seems hungrier now I am weaning...surely she is supposed to want less and less milk, not more and more???
she loves the Hipp organic jars best...
the chicken and rice and the apple sauces. very easy to sort out too. My boobs are more maneagable too, and I think I am geting a bit better.

JennStarOfWonder · 06/12/2006 22:40

DD has had precisely 2 jars of babyfood (both hipp). The first one I used on spaghetti as a sauce coz I was knackered and didn't have anything suitable and the second one she vomited up.

I think it was the smell of the bin that did it for me. I only puked once last pregnancy, but didn't feel as bad as this! I had to lie on the settee and take deep breathes while my head was spinning like I had a really bad hangover. I must make sure I eat earlier tomorrow.

JennStarOfWonder · 06/12/2006 22:41

Glad all the nipps seem to be feeling better by the way folks.

VoodooKumquat · 07/12/2006 11:03

I am better each day, now right nipp is a bit sore but dd is only eating 10-15 mins a time from boobs- utter heaven.

I recently heard some of my mums friends in scotland who have a ds younger than my dd (5nadhalf months) have been feeding him...
macaroni and cheese out of a tin, and bread and butter!!! I feel so sorry for his little kidneys with all of that salt! FGS they should know better

VoodooKumquat · 07/12/2006 11:05

in fact...it is almost like abusing him, kind of poisoning him with adult food.
They say he is sick all of the time, he was apparrently 'lactose intolerant' when he was born so she stopped bf him, and now, well, he is all food intolerant. idiots.

VoodooKumquat · 07/12/2006 11:06
