**OUCH! BITTEN NIPPS THAT SWELL UP?***

Good lordie, dd had a cold which got her so frustrated as she couldnt breathe to feed that she chomped on my poor nipp, which has now swelled up into a weird white bump/blister thing and is agony to feed from.

She did it a few weeks ago to the same one, and a blood blister appeared at the tip, which disappeared after a few days of very very careful feeds.

But when I feed her she gets distracted by the slightest noise, eg me sneezing, dh coughing on other side of room, and whips her head round while still attatched. Apart from feeding her in a soundproofed box how the heck do I stop her?

She also tugs very hard on the left one, but is an angel on the right?

Any ideas?????????????
ps she is 4.5mths and I am stopping bf at xmas probably...if I can put up with this pain till then!
tar for your help

are you sure youre feeling a bit better voodoo? what was the picture you were going to show us?
my ds is 5 months 1 week and loves his food. so far i have made everything for him but i thought i would get a couple of jars to try, see if he likes them, as we are travelling down to london sat and i thought it mights be easier for the day, but oh no, he refuses to eat them, i tried a hipp one, and some heinz ones and i have aboots one.,
so for the past few nights he has still had potato, carrot & swede.tonight he has sweet potato and some butternut squash, but at least the jars have given me some ideas for dinners to make, i'll see how he goes....

worleywinterwonderland · 07/12/2006 15:57

my dp's friends 6.5 month daughter can eat a whole jaffa cake!! they cant believe i have made all his food for him so far, but as i learnt from ds1 in that now hes such a fussy b**y eater ds2 can have roughly the same as us from the start.
did you put your decs up yet macdog? we have brought some new tinsel but havnt put anything up yet, we still have ds1's birthday cards up.

VoodooKumquat · 07/12/2006 16:44

VoodooKumquat · 07/12/2006 16:48

weird pic numero uno!

VoodooKumquat · 07/12/2006 16:50

worley, my mum keeps on to keep giving dd millions of new tastes so she doesnt become a fussy eater... I havent even consulted a weaning book, or used baby rice, my mum says its like wallpaper paste anyway,,,so I have stayed quite stress free with the whole scenario.

parents have gone to scotland for a week, so I have the house and dd to myself again, good job I am feeling a bit better, but I cant face going out in this weather, so its Phantom of the opera dvd again...

VoodooKumquat · 07/12/2006 16:59

wow, you cant use quite a lot of images on the internet!!!

Macdog · 07/12/2006 17:16

Attitudes to baby food in Scotland are appalling.
My dd was offered a chocolate button at 6weeks old....by a NURSE FFS!!!!!!!
I am considered weird cos I don't give her chips/curry/packet mank etc.
I like the Heinz mum's jars to mix with home made food for a variety in taste. I don't like peppers for instance, so this way she gets the taste.

Oi, Voodoo! Did you think you'd get away with not answering the 'where do you live' ?
And on bizzare piccies...what every well dressed bub should wear for Christmas ?

VoodooKumquat · 07/12/2006 19:12

I am originally from the Midlands, the Black Cooountry, now I live in south Manchester.....

worleywinterwonderland · 07/12/2006 22:17

thats my fave hobby too, except i havnt been scince last year, and really miss it . i live next to a livery yard and can hear the horses over the field. Maybe one day i will get to go again .

im going to have to try and figure out this link thingy as well then.

worleywinterwonderland · 07/12/2006 22:20

ok, here goes

worleywinterwonderland · 07/12/2006 22:26

this is where i last went riding

worleywinterwonderland · 07/12/2006 22:29

my brother in law and his wife live in denver, so after i finished training we went last year and had the best time ever. we were going to go back this year for new year and learn to ski, BUT i found out i was pregnant and that put paid to that. so we will wait a few years again before going on holiday. ( that was our first ever proper holiday abroad, and we have been together for 10 years, so im sure another 2 wont hurt)

worleywinterwonderland · 07/12/2006 22:38

i live where it says north east suffolk

oh dear, this is who i went to school with they havnt changed at all.

worleywinterwonderland · 07/12/2006 22:53

ok ok, im off to bed now, i should have gone hours ago really but i have this mumsnet addiction........

VoodooKumquat · 08/12/2006 09:50

Worley!you went to school with the darkness!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you got the hang of the link thing faster than I did!!!!

I bet you get loads of snow in Sussex

I cant believe you ride too!
My midwife said I wouldnt want to go for a year after the birth but I didnt believe her,...now I do...
I thought riding would make child birth easier, too, but apparrently it hardens up the perinium, hence my lovely 3rd degree tear...
Xmas Sad

Macdog · 08/12/2006 10:07

Good morning class!!!

I'm so proud of you all for doing your links

this is what I look like as a Riding for the Disabled volunteer!!!!!!!
Closest thing I can get without riding.

this is a tidy version of my Macdog

Hope you all have a good day, catch you all later

worleywinterwonderland · 08/12/2006 13:31

thats quite interesting about the perinium, i tore really badly with my ds1,9and that was only secondary so i dread to think how you must have felt . i had all internal stiches it was sooo painful. even having a smear 6 months later it was still really uncomfortable. Men have it so easy

i liked your thelwell piccie, but i thought it was going to be baby picture not a springer!!!oh well... i had a springer X staffie once, we were her third home , she was a complete nightmare, we got home one day and she had ripped the setee up in bits, there was foam everywhere, my dp was fuming. but after she attacked the cat she had to go. the trials of being a vet nurse, i ended up with all the castoffs. i now have a 3legged cat, a 1 eyed cat and the only normal cat we had was attacked by the dog and ended up with big holes in her. not a pretty sight now.

worleywinterwonderland · 08/12/2006 13:35

we hardly have any snow (in suffolk) i thinknits because we live so close to the sea and our salty air. maybe once or twice a year we may get some but it doesnt stick, but then saying that there have been times when it has been really bad and they close the schools and we come to a stand still.

thats why my ds1 was gutted we arent going to see his auntie and uncle in colorado as they have snow which gets really deep, he was so looking forward to it, bless him, the trials of being a big brother
