For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

Well done for the gym Franny, I can see you have all had a pleasant evening. I have been babysitting a friends children, always good to have a favour in hand [frin]

Overrun · 18/08/2006 09:10

Morning!
Hope that you are feeling less stiff this morning Aviatrix and Gothicmama a new day starts here
Charlie how are you today?

Hands up who had their children in bed with them last night during the storm? It was really violent where we live, and had all three boys in with us for most of the night, so not much sleep.
Fullmoonfiend, if you haven't gone yet, don't know what the forecast is for the weekend where you are, but I would def pack your wellies

Panboy · 18/08/2006 09:23

Morning Overrun! Yes it did all get a bit out of hand yesterday with all of that thread-hoping.

Still chucking it down here ( Peak District), so off to gym for my exercise quotien. Seem to be eating inordinate amount of dried fruit with mueseli!! - doing a MASSIVE smoothie for lunch and getting much needed points on the board!!

Overrun · 18/08/2006 09:29

Lucky you living in the peak district, its chucking it down here in South Wales too. I have just finished giving them breakfast and am now about to embark on the task of dressing them, it can take ages depending on their mood.

Charlee · 18/08/2006 11:09

Morning/afternoon???? which ever!

Im feeling better today thanks again for all your kind words last night i was kinda in a state but im feeling my usual self today! Superwoman

I haven't actually had any fruit or veg yet today! will have to grab some fruit with lunch.

FRANNY JOINING A GYM! WOW

I used to belong to a gym in New Zealand but thats when i had more time on my hands and ds went to playschool 3 mornings a week. I actually really enjoyed the gym i may even go again in Sept when DS starts playschool again.

Overrun · 18/08/2006 12:15

so where is FandZ today, does she think that we have all come so far, that we can manage without her?

FrannyandZooey · 18/08/2006 12:44

Are you a Kiwi Charlee? Ah it all falls into place now

you did stand out as being really far too sunny and capable to be a Brit

I am here my disciples and of course I don't think for a minute you could manage without me

Please note I have not actually been to the gym yet. I will tell you another reason I decided to go for it - my MIL is coming to stay next week and I need somewhere to go to be able to get out of the house at short notice

I am feeling really knackered today but I assume it is just my slightly stressy week, and going to bed too late. How is everyone else doing?

OP posts:
Charlee · 18/08/2006 12:49

I am not a Kiwi! I lived there for a while last year, i must just be an overly sunny brit!

Was thinking of possibly suggesting a 10/10 meet up but i suppose we all live to far away from each other?

FrannyandZooey · 18/08/2006 12:52

Ah Charlee you are a spiritual Kiwi I think

Hope you didn't mind what I said, it was meant as a compliment.

Yes I am down south, so it doesn't sound like a meet up is very likely, but who knows?

OP posts:
Charlee · 18/08/2006 12:54

No i don't mind at all i like being sunny and capable

I am a very hippy dippy spiritual person though into tarot ans angel cards, aromatherapy ect, oh and i could also stock my own shop with the amount of incense i own

(as long as you don;t think i'm one of those really annoying people who are ALWAYS to happy about bloody everything!)

FrannyandZooey · 18/08/2006 12:55

I might do if you lived next door to me

on here you are a breath of fresh air though

OP posts:
Overrun · 18/08/2006 13:02

Charlie, I agree with F and Z, sunny is good! But does this mean I am not sunny? (I want to be teachers pet

FrannyandZooey · 18/08/2006 13:08

Everyone is sunny

it's just like a big, yellow, sunshiney festival of sun in here

OP posts:
Overrun · 18/08/2006 13:19

I think fullmoonfiend might think you are being sarcastic or a tad tactless talking about big sunshiney festivals Franny. Tee hee

FrannyandZooey · 18/08/2006 13:41

It is actually sunny and nice here. Which festival is moony going to anyway?

OP posts:
Overrun · 18/08/2006 13:43

she is going to a levellers festival, it has brightened up here, but it was pissing it down earlier. don't where she is of course, so might be okay there.
The thing is, that even if it is sunny today, that amount of rain makes it a mud bath, and believe you me they aint much fun
I have never done a festival with children let alone a muddy one

Panboy · 18/08/2006 14:00

Hi all!

Back from gyming _ and it was all so quiet(shhh, shhh!)

moony is off with her other tree-huggers for the Levellers, and so alot of mud will probably just "add to the ambience" for them...

about to dive into a vat of fibre and vit C, and it is still pissing down here..

btw - are there ANY "League of Gentlemen" fans out there???

chestnutty · 18/08/2006 15:31

Hi all!
Just had some lemon drizzle cake, so that's another portion for me.
Got some fresh supplies in yesterday so I'm back on track.

Overrun · 18/08/2006 16:12

the "pump it up dvd" that I have bought to help me exercise, is done by the same women who starred in that racy video to that dance remix of "Call on me", sure Panboy remembers
Feel a bit put off by this as will never ever ever ever look like those women.
Having said that, as you all know from my posts, do find dancing the way to go on the exercise front.
I did try it, and it certainly works you hard, complete with pelvic thrusts, oh er

Panboy · 18/08/2006 16:25

I am a pure, Catholic boy and have no idea what you are talking about..whereas you are clearly a filthy brazen proddy harlot with a mind like an over-filled sewer...

more cauli and kale for dinner - have discovered I have been eating very little veg. for a non-meat eater...

Overrun · 18/08/2006 16:48

did you read my post the other day about cooking kale, swithches to yummy mummy mantle.
Bsically, fry it up with some onion, and a poached egg on top is nice, don't know if that appeals or not.
What do you plan to do with the cauli
