For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

After 4 hours painting yesterday, I could have rested in the evening but oh no . . when for an hours bike ride.
Had 7 fruit or veg yesterday but only one so far today. need to go shopping.
Seems to be alot of talk about weight and music on this thread.

FOCUS ON THE 10/10 PLEASE!

are you saying that this thread is deserted?

Overrun · 17/08/2006 18:57

I'm back on track in terms of fruit and veg, easily up to 10 portions today/ Have had a kale and onion mix (that veg really seems to need something to make it yummy), the other day when I had it, I cooked if for a few minutes in water then fried it off with chorizo and put a poached egg on top, very lovely (Nigella)
Also had peas with dinner and more grapes and a banana as afernoon snack
did my usual dancing/exercise to the kaiser chiefs if any one is interested

hi Frances...have returned from the madness elsewhere..oh it did annoy me.."I've tried to train him...." teaches me to not stray from home, says Dorothy's alter-ego....

Overrun · 17/08/2006 19:07

are we all supposed to get that Pan boy?

Panboy · 17/08/2006 19:10

sorry overrun - it was on another thread and people have been thread-hoping in a very dangerous way!! - its under ; Relationships - am I being unreasonable?? - take a peek??

Overrun · 17/08/2006 19:16

will do right now!

Overrun · 17/08/2006 19:23

have read it Panboy, v interesting. I tend to be the one in my relationship that is the dirty stop out , less so now but thats understandable with three small kiddies. Never done this when dh was pregnant though, women do feel very vulnerable at this time.
Have also seen your thread about your daughter while we are at it.
Probably agree with most of other posters when I say, she sounds shy or reserved. but then parents do know when something isn't quite right, but you have to balance this out with the fact that we can over worry sometimes.
Hope this issue does resolve itself for you.

Panboy · 17/08/2006 19:29

dd - yes thanks - am now a bit less concerned than when I registered..not having her everyday means contact is fractured and this will not be helping..but we are playing out all day on Saturday which will be jolly!!

gothicmama · 17/08/2006 20:32

I had to check th title got a bit confused about which thread I was on - Panboy hope you enjoy your day with your dd.
I ahve come to comfess I have been norty and not managed 10/10 for fruit and exercise but have managed 10/10 for rubbish food and drink (LOL )I'm blaming it on the shock of being older than franny

Charlee · 17/08/2006 20:34

Evening, i have done my eating and excersising today! Feeling pretty crap to be honest. It's not related to the 10/10 thing as i have been feeling great past few days.

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2006 20:53

I have had: apple x 2, melon x 2, raisins, green beans x 2, sweetcorn x 2, banana

Have not done anything specific but have played football and walked everywhere and have just joined a gym

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2006 21:43

Ooh yes please email lots and tell me how brave and marvellous I am in Great Detail

My ego is a deeply fragile thing and you have done it an act of great kindness, I shall not forget

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2006 21:45

This is really embarrassing....but I have partly done it because I posted a photo of myself on here recently....and the camera angle or the light or something made it look like I was fit and muscly....and everyone said "WOW!"....and I really liked the feeling of getting compliments

and I thought maybe if I joined a gym I actually could be fit and muscly
