For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

While we are talking odd musical clashes, has anyone heard Dub Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd in a dub style?

I have trumped you all today - I've been out for a long walk picking blackberries - thus fulfilling my exercise quotient and several portions of fruit all in one.

Yes! Radiodread is by the same people Franny! Have you ever played the album in conjunction with the Wizard of Oz???? (it's very spooky how apt the music is in relation wo what is happening on screen in places)
But you might need a little of Panboy's Lb black for a full effect, maybe?

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2006 18:02

Aha I thought Radiodread sounded familiar

FMF yes yes yes The Dark Side of the Rainbow

I was telling my entire family about this at a party last month and they were all pissed and none of them knew wtf I was on about

isn't it the spookiest and most wonderful thing?

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 15/08/2006 18:04

I am so unnaccountably thrilled , as apart from my dh and about 3 of his techy computer pals, you are the only person I know who knows what I am on about. And I don't really 'know' you

But thank you!

Panboy · 15/08/2006 18:12

Small world then, dahlings, as I have been aware of this for years (Floyd and Oz_ - have never tried it as I wouldn't know how to time them together at the start - any tips? Very intriguing.

fullmoonfiend · 15/08/2006 18:33

well, you have to wait til the third roar of the MGM lion - I kid you not - before starting the cd. But, apparently, they have now produced a version which has the two combined. Kinda takes the 'underground in the know' element away rather

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2006 18:38

You can buy them on eBay, from time to time, with it all synched up etc. There used to be websites showing clips, too, but there was a big clampdown recently. I am guessing MGM are really not happy about it.

I was amazed that no matter how many times I explained it to my family, they could not work out what the devil I was on about. I was stone cold sober, as ever, so it wasn't my fault.

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2006 18:43

However must go out

yes that's right I said AEROBICS

so I will see you when I get back from AEROBICS, ok?

Blimey quite a little club you had going there, am big Floyd fan but not heard other or watched it to Wizard of Oz, all experiences that I now feel the lack of.
Franny you have surpassed yourself
ps I had mushroom, potato and onion omelette with lots of salad. Plus more cherries and a banana for afters.
I am spending tons of money on fruit and veg, blowing the weekkly food budget big time

chestnutty · 15/08/2006 20:15

Does 2 hours ironing count as 10 minutes excerise?

Think I'm only up to 6 portions so far, unless you count the juniper berries in the G & T. Well if grapes count in wine and yes fullmoonfiend I think the oats and hops in beer should count perhaps a portion per pint?
I've got loads of cheerries I could eat but if 8 cherries are 1 portion then I need to eat 24 tonight!

Panboy · 15/08/2006 20:55

Frances - you've been wandering beyond the perimeter fence, haven't you? And what did you find??

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2006 20:58

I found you consorting with other cults, Pan

you have been a naughty, naughty boy, sit on my step for 45 minutes (one minute for every year of your life you know)

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2006 21:00

Overrun you must try the Floyd thing, I will get a link for you to explain it all, it is so fab

I have not counted my fruit today but I am estimating approx 1 squillion

Got to the market / greengrocer for fruit and veg Overrun, much much cheaper and nicer than the crappy supermarkets

OP posts:
Overrun · 15/08/2006 21:19

that would be fun Franny. I tend to get my veg from supermarkets and from an organic box scheme. Sure you are right about green grocers and markets. Do go to markets at the weekend, but no green grocers near us any more. They all seem to close down eventually, wiped out by supermarkets I know
Can I be nosey and ask fellow 10/10 members how many children they have and age and gender. Mine are all boys and my oldest is three and the twins are 21 months

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2006 21:50

Ok Overrun (and anyone else interested) I have a treat for you

Dark Side of The Rainbow , a ready synched version available to stream onto your pc

Now I must say I am a big fan, but know that at first it is hard to get people convinced of how good this is. If you are feeling sceptical, forward it to just before 15 mins and watch throughout the next song. The synchronicity of this segment is superb - the whole track fits the action beautifully, especially when the song dies down just as Dorothy's head hits the pillow, and the way the song ends exactly as she opens the door. It sends shivers down my spine!

Thanks so much FMF for reminding me as I have not watched it for ages and I think it is so cool.

Here's a list of other synchs people have spotted - a lot of them are fairly silly IMO, but the whole thing is just fab.

Weird. Never seen this before - going to print the definitive list and forensically match it all up!!!

Panboy · 15/08/2006 22:13

and have 6y.o. dd, though she "lives seperately" ( acceptable terminology these days??)..

  • if anyone has any observation to make on my dd, please visit "Relationships;advice sought on very reserved 6y.o dd" bit - I registered seeking wisdom on my concerns over her development, so comment freely please??
fullmoonfiend · 15/08/2006 22:16

FMF steps onto that yellow brick road and diappears in a cloud of hippy herbal smokes (thanks F&Z, you really have mde my night)

Overrun - I have 2 boys, almost 6 and almost 9. Hence a lot of physical exercise (they never stop )
What about you?

Panboy · 15/08/2006 22:19

sorry peoples..that should be "behaviour/developments"..for dd.

Panboy · 15/08/2006 22:40

Frances - done so.

NotQuiteCockney · 16/08/2006 01:30

Franny, total hijack, saw some good colouring books today. This company's stuff. Should I get you one of them?

NotQuiteCockney · 16/08/2006 01:37

Oh, today I went running, and ate:

  • two nectarines
  • about 2 servings worth of a Mediterranean salad
  • at least 3 servings worth of a tomato salad and a roasted mushroom thing with balsamic dressing

So that's 7. I'll probably have some pineapple before sleep.

Overrun · 16/08/2006 09:23

morning all, don't have much time so will be a quick message. I am taking ds1 to see a Thomas show, quality one on one time I suppose.
haven't looked at your link Franny, but thanks am looking forward to watching it.
Thanks to every one who satisfied my curiosity about children, so far we are boy heavy!
Museli and banana so far, good test of resolve as I will be out all day. Have booked myself in for a exercise class tonight so hope this off sets not quite making fruit and veg quota.
Catch up with you all this evening I hope
