Hands round a Brew for everyone.

OP posts:
kitkat1967 · 28/01/2014 20:02

Evening all. Have just popped on to polish my halo (!!) - saw my surgeon this evening and he is really pleased with my healing and his handiwork. I can wear a non-sports bra during the day but have to wait a couple more weeks before I can have an underwire. In 3 months I can go back to decide if I want any othere tweeks and to arrange to get the nipple done. BUT at the end the BCN said I was the least complaining patient they had ever had Grin Blush.

Handbagsatdawn · 28/01/2014 20:04

Really please please please can I get you one of these? It might save you having to chop a leg off.

Handbagsatdawn · 28/01/2014 20:05

Well done Kitkat you superstar Grin

reallyreallyworried · 28/01/2014 20:19

Seriously handbags you are now taking the p* Grin The 2 I look after really don't need any encouragement.

If someone had told me back in August that I would be laughing about hairloss through Chemo, I would of told them they were being ridiculous! But look at us now! Amazing what we can joke about!

I think I should definitely get a parrot! That would be pretty cool!

foofooyeah · 28/01/2014 20:20

Just a wave from me, enjoying the lull between chemo and surgery. Filling days with coffee, the gym, box sets and random hospital appts.

reallyreallyworried · 28/01/2014 20:21

I can see your halo shining from here kitkat well done you!

foofooyeah · 28/01/2014 20:22

really my scarf tying abilities are getting more extreme ... Currently going for a lot of height. I'm aiming for glamorous eccentric but I'm veering more to the eccentric side.

Handbagsatdawn · 28/01/2014 20:30

Eccentric is good Foo. Can you add some Pat Butcher style earrings too?

Right, sorry my end of chemo euphoria is getting out of hand.

reallyreallyworried · 28/01/2014 20:31

foo you are obviously making far more effort than me! I have elasticated bandana style scarves! In other words I pull it on and I am ready to go Grin

Gigondas · 28/01/2014 20:40

Evening all -well done kitkat and handbags.

Scan looks good so chemo working but they blew a vein in chemo today which was ouch (cycle 5 of 6 but my chemo is in two bits so more next week).

Love the scarf chat. I was more into my scarf than wig.

Malt seen [[

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1979846-I-feel-so-sorry-for-Emily-who-is-with-Peter-Andre this about the orange one]].

Back to the jump ...

Gigondas · 28/01/2014 20:41

this

weebarra · 28/01/2014 20:44

Well done on the end of chemo handbags!
I have the elastic bandana things too - DH said the scarves made me look like I had cancer...
First of my weekly tax tomorrow, eek!

Handbagsatdawn · 28/01/2014 21:04

Good news Gigs, but ouch to vein.

Handbagsatdawn · 28/01/2014 21:06

Where do you get your elastic bandanas please? Need something cool (as in not hot) to wear to gym. Not quite ready to go baldy yet.

kitkat1967 · 28/01/2014 21:19

I saw that thread earlier Gigs - read the first page of it. How is your hair - have you persevered with the cold cap?

weebarra - I suspect tomorrow will be very uneventful for you (fingers crossed)- not at all like FEC.

My pattern always went - Chemo on Weds, hyper on steroids Thurs & Friday, crash on Fri evening then tired (and aches but not for the first few weeks) on Sat & Sun, normal on Mon & Tues then repeat....
any stomach upsets were on sundays or mondays (I know you are worried about that).

wow - me, Malt, Betsy and Lily were way to conservative when we lost our hair - no sign of any pirates or soap stars amongst us.

reallyreallyworried · 28/01/2014 21:20

I got some from annabandana (on line). Reasonably priced and lots of choice! Grin it's where all the pirates shop Grin

malteserzz · 28/01/2014 21:20

I did see that gigs very funny Grin

Great news Kitkat Smile

foofooyeah · 28/01/2014 21:40

I got a cotton lightweight hat thing for the gym from eBay. Or I wear a jersey scarf tied round. Both work quite well and not too hot.

foofooyeah · 28/01/2014 21:40

gigs hurrah for chemo workinh

Handbagsatdawn · 28/01/2014 21:50

Ooh Really, do you think Johnny Depp shops there too? (Hopeful).

Foo - I love your description of cotton hat thing. I shall type that into EBay and see what I get GrinGrin

Right am taking my stoopid, chemo-addled self to bed, sleeping tablets at the ready to calm me down, hoping I can sleep, but hoping more I have dreams of Johnny Depp, or maybe the other nice looking one (can't remember) being pirates. Xxx

harrietv · 28/01/2014 22:22

off to hospital in the morning for lumpectomy and sentinal node. anythign i need to know re physio?
updating good luck with your results. keep us posted. I think i want to rename you uplifting as I keep tying that instead and it's much cheerier!

malteserzz · 28/01/2014 22:26

Good luck Harriet we ll be thinking about you. They will give you arm exercises to do afterwards. Hope they don't keep you hanging around for too long Smile

kitkat1967 · 28/01/2014 22:28

harrietv - when I had my SNB my physio was putting washing on the line (it was June Smile) - Op on Friday, washing on Saturday. When I finally looked at my physio sheet i realised that I had started at the equivalent of week 6 Blush - mind you I think it was designed for the more eldery patient. After that I decided that my usual life was active enough so didn't do any physio.
Good luck BTW.

malteserzz · 28/01/2014 22:34

I agree with that Kitkat, shoulders up, shoulders down was the 1st one !

reallyreallyworried · 29/01/2014 07:01

Morning all

Just to let you know GoodnessKnows has come through her surgery, and is doing okay. Sense of humour still in tact. Grin I'm sure she will be back on to update as soon as she is able.

harrietv wishing you all the best for your surgery today. I was another one who was doing full activities by day 2!! Just listen to your body and DON'T avoid using that arm. Xx

Hope everyone has a great day xx
