Hi all, I'm having my last tax today! Finally!! There were times when I thought I'd never get to the end.

I'm reading about eyebrows and eyelashes with great interest. Mine got seriously thin with bald patches (lovely!) in the middle of the second tax cycle. There was a little bit of regrowth towards the end of that cycle but the onc warned me that it wouldn't last.

Now I'm gritting my teeth and trying not to glower at the companion of the man in the next bed who is slurping his hot coffee. Aargh!!

Just got The Call
Low Grade Sarcoma

Telling you (all) first.

Crying now with relief.

This is good
Never ever did I think that I'd be grateful to be told I have cancer.

Because I don't.
It's low grade
Margins are clear (they got the whole thing out)

I need to be monitored. Not the end but could've been worse.

(Still crying)

But it's not the bastard benign type that needs chemo, radiotherapy, cancer drugs by the truck load as it's so aggressive and pretty much always comes back.

It also means I'll have support. Macmillan for a start.
I'm with the centre of excellence for these rarer cancers. My doctor was thrilled to have his first 'case'.
Lol

I'm here to please ;)

Really, I know this is your decision. And it's not our role here to pressure you either way. But I'd pay very careful attention to what they said about the possibility of a major stroke....and that you have some leftover weakness from the bleed.
What are they doing about that? Seriously - they should be offering OT assessments etc. Are they?

Good luck really we will all be virtually holding your hand Smile

I can hardly see my tattoos as I'm quite freckly !

Lots of luck today really- sympathy on heartburn as steroids give it to me too.

Handbags -tattoos are annoying aren't they? Look like biro dots to me but do make it easier to do rads.

Good luck today Really, whatever your decision.

Had my rads CT scan, measuring up and tattoos yesterday. Was fine, although the tattoo between my boobs looks like a blackhead. Hmm

Or if your docs are the same age range as mine you'd better go for 'if I was your daughter' Wink

That's a good one Betsy thanks and thanks for the hug! I need one this morning! Xx

Thinking of you today really - you could always go for the classic "if it was your wife/mother in my situation what would you recommend to her?"question when you see the docs later.

Really I agree that you might need a few more days to think about it, also have you told your parents ? I'm sure they'd want to help and support you through this. If you're not going to be able to sleep put some trashy tv or music on, don't just lie there stressing x

I won't rush into a decision BUT I'm not sure that the stress and worry being dragged on for another week or more is going to help my sanity, or help me make a decision!

As for going the extra mile, I think that might be because of my complaints to PALS!

really when I was neutrophilic in Dec, my chemo had to be pushed out a week. Can you delay treatment by at least a few days to give you time to make your decision? And perhaps get some more information?

My heart goes out to you. This is such a tough situation and such a tough decision. Best of luck to you.
